Remastered in 4K using ESRGAN [AI Machine Learning]
ESRGAN is an AI Neural Network software that is capable of upscaling and reconstructing low-resolution images, while retaining most of their elements and details intact.
I used ESRGAN with alsa64's denoising model and the Manga109 model to upscale the video 4 times its original resolution.
Original resolution: 640x448

I don't think most would disagree that Tekken 4 had a great"everything-except-the-fighting" to it. Great and Epic soundtracks, unique character designs, good individual stories, and an interesting main Mishima arc revival. The thing is that it's still a fighting game and no matter how great everything else is, if the fighting bit is flawed it'll overshadow the positives.☯️✌

Kazuya’s left eye doesn’t start glowing red until the final act of this game, when he merges with the Devil spirit in his head.

Both of his eyes were glowing in that opening scene, but the right was glowing more faintly. That was Devil in charge at the moment.
This intro made Kazuya my favorite character of all time. Badass.

I remember the first time I’ve seen this on arcade and I was like “NO WAAAAY”
Can't even imagine what seeing Kazuya comeback after all those years must've been like (granted he was in Tag 1 but this feels like a total rebirth of Kazuya). This intro turns him into like the coldest character of all time "They all thought I was out of the game... but im holding all the cards now". Really hope they bring all these aesthetic choices back in a future Tekken game tbh.
It was very exciting. He was my favorite since 2. I didn't mind his absence in three but I went nuts when I saw this for the first time.

This intro to Tekken 4 still gives me chills just like with Tekken 3, tag, 4, and 5. I still have this game on PS2 since I was 11 years old brings me back memories looking at this intro. I had a crush on Christie Monterio in this game, I was also excited that Kazuya Mishima came back when he did and the way how he fought those Tekken forces was so badass.

I prefer the roided look. It's way more fitting. The series is about a bunch of badass martial artists trying to beat up eachother. Of course they're going to look muscular.
Back in the day developers didn't have enough polygons to define a character models' body mass and muscular definition.

The fact that Kazuya is one of the few Japanese martial arts characters who acknowledges that you can't always karate fire arms (In other words, he's willing pull out a piece and cap someone himself) earns him so much respect in my book

This opening intro to Tekken 4 gives me chills, and had me hyped and not scared at all. I still have and play this game on PS2 since I was 11 years old. I had the biggest crush on Christie Monterio in this game especially when she appeared on the intro. Brings me back memories, I feel like a kid again even though I'm 28 years old playing all of my best Tekken video games.

It may not have been as dark as prior entries but it still kept its Identity.Bigger Roster, Good New Characters, Devil Jin, The Stages, Smoother Gameplay, MUCH better grapple mechanics, Alot of New Modes. I guarantee you if Tekken 5 had online it would still be played 17 years later.
I agree on T4 being the peak. It’s a shame they didn’t continue the story directly from T4. In Jin’s ending he drops a white feather foreshadowing he’s an angel. Other characters had lots of depth in their story as well. I think tekken would’ve been better off if they continued what they started in 4.

I was sad that Kazuya was not in T3, and only non canon in TT, when I saw this intro for the first time I was screaming like I was trying to become a super sayan, I was so happy Kaz came back. Intro still give me chills to this day.

I love Tekken 4 but I always felt they came up short in a lot of areas. Character selection was one. But the silver linings was bringing Kazuya back & giving Jin his own identity.

imposible, actually PCSX2 it's one of the worst emulators of all time the only reason why is so popular its because it's the "only" ps2 emulator for pc actually, but dont worry the dolphin emulator team is working on a ps2 emulator after they finish the Duckstation

My favorite Tekken game for the intro, story mode, soundtrack, and amazing sounding voice announcer guy who should have been incorporated into the rest of the series. An absolute masterpiece of the game and I never understood why it wasn’t more popular as compared to the other entries.

EXCELLENT music choice there at the start and with its timing before the intro lol. And nice work with making the end look nice too with that white fade, since the video would usually cut off before the music keeps playing over the main menu of the game, which the video file transitions to. Phew :)

Not gonna lie, I had a PS2 demo disk with a playable demo, and the opening seconds where Heihachi dropped Kazuya into the volcano really unnerved me as a kid. Even when I was that young and had no idea what the story was, I had a really good idea of what was going on at that moment and it just unsettled me.

This was truly a great game. I remember reading a review in a game magazine back in the day, saw the screenshots and gameplay footage but at the time my parents could not afford me the PS2, so i was stuck at playing tekken 3 on PS1 ( which is not a bad thing :D ). As soon as i got my hands on PS2 around 4-5 years later which i bought with my own money i instantly got Tekken 4 and started playing it. I still play it ocassionally to this day. Great game, i dont get why it was bashed when compared to other Tekken games in the series.

Tekken 4 was the first Tekken game I've played and them bringing back Kazuya was genius and awesome I was pumped and had goosebumps from the opening and Kazuya crushing the Tekken force one by one.

Underrated detail: Kazuya was bleeding against the Tekken force. Which makes him powerful but vurnerable. Unlike the shounen anime character he is today.

I basically have developed my own personal head canon for Tekken, I just decide to think that Jinpachi is the source of the Devil Gene and that Jin is cured after he kills Jinpachi, becomes CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu and uses it to undo the evils caused by his father and grandfather. To me that is how Tekken ends.
The whole theme song makes me feel like it's a spy movie.
