Thank you Wayne. Went for my chemo yesterday and did my eyes exactly the way you said. It looked beautiful, even the nurses complemented me. Love you lots. XXX
I have bad attention deficit disorder & I swear this is one of the only channels where I can actually sit and watch a 20 minute video and focus. your videos are actually so calming, love love. thank you
I don't think I have any attention disorder, yet I find Wayne's way of speaking is of the few I can bear. There is no word fillers, just genuine language, to the point while still being authentic, from his tone we can tell he speaks to us as if we are equals and intelligent beings, he does not use any attitude of any kind, etc. It doesn't tire me. And I guess all this helps someone with attention deficit to focus.
You can immediately feel the difference of a video from a professional, compared to all those amateur beauty bloggers... Very well explained... Thank you!
I am SO glad to bear someone say "there's no day eye evening eye or party eye it's whatever makes you happy"! That's what I've always done and didn't care if someone thought it was a night time eye look. It's MY eye look and it makes ME happy! 💛
spent 30 years of my life never wearing eyeshadow, but always REALLY wanted to. Over this time ive spent countless hours trying all sorts of eyeshadow tips and tricks with many different eyeshadows ....then i watched a Wayne Goss video...and viola, i can do eyeshadow! i am beyond grateful for the information provided here and in many other videos by Wayne. THANKS YOU for the wonderful tutorials thst alllow makeup accessible and easily repeated for us normies!
“Whether it’s mine or someone that is way more talented”. What??? Excuse me, but you are extremely talented. Some of your reviews have been the most helpful for me than anything I’ve ever learned.
Wayne, you are the only make-up artist on TH-cam that I trust. You’re real, you’re honest and I wholeheartedly believe that you are a lovely person - on camera and off. Congratulations on your success. You have earned it and deserve it. Big hugs my friend.
Everytime I see your video, I am in a complete shock, how is it possible, that you don't have more subscribers? No drama, just a clean, professional approach on sharing useful makeup tips. And I love it! But anyway, thanks for saving me again. Wish more people will find this gem :)
Wayne, you are , bar none, the best at makeup tutorials. I'm 60 and I love all you educational videos and mostly your wonderful personality. Your kindness and honesty always shines through. Thank you for helping us all to look our best selves. xx
Bushra A. Not many people really go outside looking like that. I definitely wouldn’t go to my classes with a cut crease... I’d go for a more natural look. That makeup only looks good on pictures. IMO
Actually not at all true. You can do very subtle halo eyes and cut creases and they have been very commonly done. I've worked out of the DA's office for years, do those options frequently, as do most I know from friends who are teachers to dentists. I've seen some attempts out in society look horrible, but for those who know how to do them having the knowledge and skill, they look amazing and can be a very every day look, and people have been doing them for every day wear for years. One, if one who wears make up at all, should at least have the knowledge how to do a basic halo. If you think they're dramatic, you are only looking at editorial looks, but the reason they do tutorials is to teach the skill of application, which then can be done for a very natural look.
@@betsybabf748 I agree, I actually see a lot of girls do cut crease with a nude lid color and like a brownish color and it looks very subtle and natural. That's why I was confused by the original comment. It depends on the colors you use as well.
Betsy/BA BF actually it is true you are rare. The majority of women don’t go around looking like that period. Also only a small percentage of the women who do even look good and not like they are in drag.
I asked every makeup artist i follow about this issue and no one gave me a thoughtful answer. Always depend on you for these real professional tips. Grateful to you so much
Ah, if you don't mind me saying, in my humble opinion, no one is more talented than you! You are the best. You explain your instructions clearly and succinctly; but most importantly, you do so in a kind, friendly manner. I am so fond of you, and glad you're willing to teach me. I am forever grateful!
I also had to come back and thank you, after being told for years that I had almond eyes and never being able to figure out otherwise, but still knowing it wasn't right... You recently helped me figure out I had deep set eyes and today, you taught me to see my eyes are small, but round! It took me being 34 for me to finally realize, but I now know how to slay my eyes and you've revived the passion I once had for my makeup. Thank you so much. I no longer feel like a failure, I was just using wrong techniques.
This is one of the rare, most comprehensive videos that actually explains structural make up. This one is a gem Mr. Goss. Thank you! Going straight to my library. Please do more of these.
Just what I needed for my teenage daughter, who's been feeling 'a bit shit' that regular eyeshadow tutorials never work for her beautiful hooded eyes! Thanks Wayne 💖
Kids Kitchen It’s so sad that she felt that way! I wish beauty TH-cam was more like it was 12 years ago when I started learning makeup! Things were so much less "one size fits all" back then.
I'm beyond thankful I found your channel Wayne. I love to watch makeup videos however I don't follow others thinking, "I can not wait to try this look". I watch them to enjoy the creative aspects. You are on a whole other level. I have watched your videos and then the next day I will play back the video as I do my own makeup so to follow your easy, simple yet knowledgeable instructions so as to create and test out the technique you are teaching us all. Don't change, ever. You've help me along with millions of others learn about soo many aspects of makeup from tips, products, application, placement and much more. I feel as though I'm learning from a friend, one who is there who just wants to help me play and learn about makeup. Thank you, from me to you, thank you for all that you have done and to the new infromation I can wait to learn as just one of your many dedicated followers.
Wayne, you're the ONLY person on TH-cam that teaches personal/individual makeup. I've been following you since the beginning, I've watched EVERY SINGLE VIDEO, bc I know that I will learn in every single one. You're so authentic, and natural, even though you have personal problems like everybody. You don't just teach a makeup look, but how we can apply to our face shape, eye shape, if it's dry or oily, always caring about us, and continuing being humble. Thanks 😊
This tutorial is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! I'm a professional makeup artist and like to review the "basics" to stay fresh. This is great for somebody looking to learn more about their own eye shape and how to do their own eye makeup, or for working professionals who want to brush up and/or get top-pro insight and direction or instruction. Thank you for always being so informative with your talents, Wayne!
“I don’t want to make a feature of what’s not that great anyway.” I truly believe we make the mistake of concentrating on our less than great features, both facially and body wise, when we should just put our energy into further playing up our best features. Thank you again Wayne.💕
Thankyou, as an over 40’s woman who lost all confidence in make up techniques with aging eyes and larger pores developing you’ve given me so much guidance I’m enjoying makeup again! Like a daft teenager again 😂🎉🎉
Wayne is soo wonderful! Hes the only person I've yet found who just give basic instructions on individual aspects rather than doing a whole "look" all at once. And also gives so much detail on the theory behind what hes doing. This was especially usful! I see a couple of places I've been going wrong now, where I knew my eyes didnt look right but couldn't put my finger on where I'd gone wrong. Love this channel!
Geez, best tutorial ever. Always struggled to use only one eyeshadow shade. Simple and very efficient! My makeup never looked better, that's the real deal. You're awesome Wayne!
The information Wayne provided in this video about eye shape was exceptionally helpful! He explains in simple terms different eye shapes and why we may not get the same results as someone else. Thank you so much for taking your time and sharing this information.
I learn something new every time I watch. You gave me courage to try eye make up for the first time at 58. I practiced every day during the covid shutdown. Definitely an intermediate now. You really are the best make up guru on the Internet. Thank you.
I have almond and hooded eyes. It’s a pain. Also....I wear glasses and can’t do contacts. Anyway you could possibly do a tutorial for people who wear glasses? I try really hard to do my makeup and feel like my glasses cover everything up.
Siama Palkki I have all of the same issues. I can and do wear contacts but not much because if I do I suffer from dry eye even with drops. I just HATE my small hooded eyes.
What really helped me was googling celebrities and models with an eye shape similar to mine, then google images of them with glasses and dissect their eye makeup.. most models especially Victoria’s secret’s have hooded lids so it didn’t take me long to find someone with a similar eye shape to mine.. and I‘m sure you will too.. Hope this helps!
Dear Wayne, I love your tutorials. I began developing a hooded eye with age and couldn't figure out what was going on and how to do my eyes. You've helped me so much! My eye makeup is better than ever before. All thanks to you. And your brushes are amazing! If anyone is reading this - the tightlining brush is a must have!
"or someone more talented" impossible Wayne. You're the best out there! I also find face dimension plays a factor with eye makeup. People with flatter faces can get away with more eye looks and it's not fair. When I put too much makeup on it accentuates my eyes in all the wrong way. Regardless of shape and size.
Anonymous ~This is SOOO true... when I watch Michele Wang do her eye makeup, I am always truly a tad jealous because everything seems to look gorgeous on her eyes.. it’s like a nice canvas to paint however you want- and I have to remember that when I do my deep set large rounder eyes. Also, they are naturally uplifted... so less work all the way around.
I adore your videos! To be honest it's only you and Lisa Eldridge I find helpful and showing meaningful content. Your attitude is so sweet and respectful. Thank you.
This is one of the MOST important makeup videos. Years ago you put a video out that talked about this and it was a light bulb moment for me! Before this, I had tried to follow tutorials and before this, I tried following the recommendations on the back of the eyeshadow pallets. The color that is meant to go in the crease is usually a deep shade. I have very deep set, round eyes and this made my eyes look even more round and deep set. It was not flattering at all. Understanding that eye shape is the most important factor in how my eye looks turn out. I now know that I can't put a deep color in my crease because I already have a natural shadow there. I can eliminate crease work or place a lighter shade there and slightly above and it looks appropriate and brings my very deepest eyes forward. Having a good understanding allows you to play with light and dark and shadow in the way that will be most flattering to whatever shape and eye placement a person has. I wish anyone who is interested in makeup would see this. It is honestly a game changer!
Wayne you are a god damn legend! I am so rubbish with applying make up as I always think you have to spend ages on it for it to work so I've always been a bit hap hazard with it....but you have really encouraged me to look at it all differently so thank you. It's not so much technique, more about knowing your face, shape of your features and what works with that. We're all blessed with being so unique and I really think your attitude and style hones in on that. Thanks xx
Thanks Wayne! You came through again! This is the type of information/instruction that's overlooked in other eye-shadow tutorials. Bless you you're my hero.
I love how u always explain how there are no rules to make up and always go with what works for your own personal eye shape, face and preference😍 there are too many beauty influencers that always try to tell their audience that there way is the right way 🙄 I have been following you for sometime and you never disappoint! I always come back to your tutorials when I need to refresh my skills or am looking for inspiration 🙌🏼😍😍😍
Thank you so much for this much needed guidance, Wayne! I sometimes find my hooded eyes are a bloody nightmare to work with. Also, I love how you closed this video, such an important message and so wonderfully delivered. Much love to you darling 🖤
Just discovered this tutorial tonight, never heard anyone taught about the size and shape of eyes before and being Asian, this speaks to me. It is educational and helpful, and he is so polite in this video, loved it! Thank you so much!
Brilliant eye tutorial. I’ve learnt so much. It finally after so many years clicked. And this is so embarrassing to say as I am a Graphic Designer by trade. What I love love love about “real” makeup artists the likes of Wayne, Hindash, Lisa Eldridge or Charlotte Tilbury is that 1. They are artists that really know their craft and have real craftsmanship; 2. They really just want to enhance your natural beauty and almost see beauty in every model they work with; 3. They emphasize that it is just makeup and lastly they are professional- they are not about drama but class and craftsmanship. We love you Wayne!!!
THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. recently I've been watching MUAs talk about how an influencer's makeup tutorial is not a one-size-fits-all (technique & product wise) & for a while, I couldn't point out why the shape of my shadow/liner just didn't look 'right'
I was just trying to figure out the best shape for my eyes. They are big, round, protruding, with a lot of space between my lid and brow. This video was very helpful.
Generally speaking light colors makes things wider and bigger dark colors makes things appear smaller and closer. You can use darker colors in crease to stop the appearance of eye protruding. Time 19:21 on the video (med/dark colors according to ur skin tone) will make eyes seem closer. Hope this helps
i am glad I found your channel. You are not only talented, but so generous and humble. All of these us what makes you someone to admire. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I have quite big, rounded and hooded eyes. It was always a mystery how to do my eyes better. Wow, I just tried your method, and voila! The only visible part of my eyelid is a little moon in the inner corner, a small part, but with your advice I put the color there and now it looks better! Thank you! xx
Having "round" eyes that are gently hooded, I always found it hard to know what shape I should be putting my eyeshadow in! I didn't realize until finding this video that your eye shape includes your crease line, so that really helped me better visualize the shape I should be going for with my shadows! Thank you for making this video!
You give the VERY BEST make-up tutorials!! You are extremely talented and now that I found your channel I will be watching everything from you. You make this so simple and it makes sense to me. Let me just say this- I love makeup! Always have. But one thing I’ve always struggled with is my eyes. This is the ONLY video I’ve ever watched that really broke down eye makeup application to where it actually made sense. I tried this today and WHOA! My eyes look so sultry. Thank you for explaining this. With continued practice, this won’t take me so long next time 😂
This was so informative to me. I have a round eye with a lot of lid, and was trying to shape it into an almond. Now I shape my eyes round and wow! they really look 👍

I love how you want everyone to enhance what they have, and feel prettier in themselves rather than make them feel stupid or inept at makeup application. Always clear concise videos which actually help. ❤️
Throughout this lockdown I've been binge watching all of your video's and they have just saved my sanity! Not only a lovely distraction from all the madness......but just the most perfect and practical advice and techniques! Push liner has changed my actual life! I hope you're well. Thank you ❤️

Thanks xx
Wayne Goss is a national treasure. Amazing tutorial!
Exactly 💯!
Thank you for taking the time to explain shapes with examples in the beginning. I appreciate your teaching style.
Thank you so much for this much needed guidance, Wayne! I sometimes find my hooded eyes are a bloody nightmare to work with. Also, I love how you closed this video, such an important message and so wonderfully delivered. Much love to you darling 🖤
Basically enhancing your beauty. What an amazing soul Mr. Wayne Goss. The world needs more of you.
THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. recently I've been watching MUAs talk about how an influencer's makeup tutorial is not a one-size-fits-all (technique & product wise) & for a while, I couldn't point out why the shape of my shadow/liner just didn't look 'right'
Thank you so much, Wayne. You give realistic tutorials about how to help us enhance our looks. We appreciate and love you so much.
I was just trying to figure out the best shape for my eyes. They are big, round, protruding, with a lot of space between my lid and brow. This video was very helpful.
Mine too. I love my eye shape! ❤️
Carla Denman I WISH I had that eye shape. I have smaller very hooded fatty eyelids and I HATE them. ☹️
Same here, sis! 🙌🏽
I have the same eye shape and am so encouraged to read this!
i am glad I found your channel.
Thank you! xx
Best makeup teacher ever!
I have been trying for over a year to improve my make-up application with little progress and l have spent much more money than I ever wanted to just to find out that a product(s) was unnecessary. You Rock!! Erika
I’m Singaporean Australian and I’ve got very hooded eyes. Spent my whole life failing at recreating TH-cam eyeshadow tutorials. Then I watch this, tried it, loved it! Thanks so much Wayne!
So glad to have stumbled across your channel. Being 51 I struggle with eye make up and watching your hints and tips is gonna make a huge difference. Thank you 🥰
So I’m not the only one who feels “a bit shit” cause my eye look doesn’t look like the video I watched?!? Well damn! Sorry, that was just so dang cute. Love you Wayne 😘😘😘
McKenzie Tucker I’m always feeling “a bit shit”!! When I try to follow a tutorial!!😂😅
Every eyeshape is different. The idea is to see if your eyes are upturned or downturned and what amount of roundness the eyelids have
Yeah that made me giggle so hard.
Love you Wayne Goss!!!! You're the BEST teacher!!!
I got so much out of this. No one explains and breaks it down like YOU!!!! You're a star!
Wayne, thank you for taking the time to explain make-up techniques that everyone can learn from...bravo!
Finally someone gave a reasonable tutorial with a reasonable amount of products. Thank you! Totally worth practicing. Greetings from Stockholm!
I'm 56 from Cleveland, Ohio and I just love how you explain and demonstrate so effortlessly. I love you! 💖
Thank You for your reassurance… “Do whatever you want, it’s just make up…” is such a freeing phrase! Appreciate the tips, and your calm applications, always…
With continued practice, this won’t take me so long next time 😂
I love that you are so practical to us everyday people. Your videos are always educational. I also think you are very genuine & real.
❤ maybe when covid is over, u can get a model and do a deep set eye look
I nominate myself! 😁😎🖐🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤘🏻
ColourBrights lol I was gonna propose the same but with the round hooded eyes 😜
ColourBrights, yes glad you suggested that. I would love to see him demonstrate that too.
I volunteer too 😂 come get Me lol I wish ,I wish I wish 🎶💯
I’m a novice applying eye shadow, your explanations and directions are giving me hope. Thanks Wayne
This was so informative to me. I have a round eye with a lot of lid, and was trying to shape it into an almond. Now I shape my eyes round and wow! they really look 👍
Wayne, you are an absolute genuis. Please write a book, your makeup tips are remarkable. You are my favorite makeup artist.
Thank you for the more in-depth video. From someone with smaller and “older” eyes, this was very helpful. Thank you! ❤️

You're a gem, Wayne! My favourite makeup artist on TH-cam x
Phenomenal teacher of the art of makeup!!!! Thanks Gossi !!
I love how you want everyone to enhance what they have, and feel prettier in themselves rather than make them feel stupid or inept at makeup application. Always clear concise videos which actually help. ❤️
I have so much admiration for you Wayne, you're advice is aways above and beyond. Such a joy to watch.
I love hearing “there’s not a day eye, night eye, party eye it’s whatever you like” 😄🥰💜
Thank you Mr. GOSS!!! you are the BOSS when it comes to makeup application!!
I have very large, round eyes. I followed along (with a matte black), stepped from the mirror and BAM! 😂 Fabulous! Thank you!
“… whether it’s mine or someone way, more talented…”
So humble.
Thank you for always reminding me to “…just be kind.”🥰

You're the most wholesome nice and real makeup artist on TH-cam. Thanks for the great videos!!! :D
I’ve just found this guy tonight. I’m obsessed. 🤯♥️ I’m such a huge makeup/skincare lover and after watching a few of his vids earlier I have just purchased the RCMA + Ellis Faas Foundation! 💰😩 I’ll be broke before you know it! Lol .. please do a Skincare video! X
He is very informative and actually give and shows techniques. I suggest u watch all his vids. Ive been watching for almost 10 years. Ive learned a lot not just the trends but the art behind it.
@@rare2b right! I remember the day, years ago, he blew my mind with brow shapes and not only how to find where to start, middle, end... But WHY a certain way will make make your nose look bigger/smaller... And why my over plucking tendencies in the 90s were completely wrong 😂
Here you go changing the way I see and apply makeup, again. Thank you for this!
I have deep sockets but definitely almond-shaped eyes.. I have to tilt my head back slightly and close my eye slightly too in order to get a brush into my socket. I adore black khol for my waterline and I pull it off easily because my eyes are big... I look really weird and ill with nude or white in my waterline... Fab video Wayne, classic Goss tips and tricks! Please keep them coming!!... Love to you and yours Wayne... xXx 😁😎🖤🖤🖤🖤
Long time watcher/ lurker here (must be 10 years now!) But I've never left a comment. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge with us all. You and Lisa Eldridge have taught me so much ♥️♥️ thank you thank you thank you
