- Today I am demonstrating how to tie dye a spiral t-shirt using the h.w.i. (hot water irrigation) method. This is a step by step tie dye t-shirt tutorial video where we cover the entire process including the spiraling and rubber banding of the shirt, applying the procion dye powder to the shirt, using the garden pump sprayer to apply the hot water to the shirt, and then finally the reveal of our new tie dye spiral t-shirt. This is such a fun process and it turned out great! Your spirals are always so nice. I have a hemostat question. For mandalas on t-shirts, what is the best size? I bought some 6" for small items and 8" for t-shirts, but think I might need some 10"? Thank you!
Thank you! I actually only have 6” hemostats that I use but I definitely need bigger. If I had to choose I would say 10” only because the more fabric you can lock in the bigger and more defined your white lines will be. That would be my preference unless it was like a kids shirt then they may be too big. I hope this helps some😊💜
