    That awkward moment when you mistake the spiritual abuse for the Holy Spirit

    • @1pecwonder
      @1pecwonder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There was definitely Spiritual Abuse. And the Spirit did work in spite of Driscoll and people were saved.

      @@1pecwonder lol exactly that’s Chandler’s whole point to this. The parent comment presumes that the work of the Spirit is within us when in reality He does what He wants in spite of us 😂

    what's so funny is this is Chandler telling pastors NOT to emulate Mark Driscoll because he is his own uniqueness that only works for him. However, Driscoll said many times that because of his "success", pastors should emulate him!

      A lot of pastors do, and that's the problem.

    I love Matt Chandler and I also love Mark Driscoll; funny thing is, I listen to both of their podcasts. Yes, Driscoll is a bit candid and straight-forward preacher, but still, God uses him a lot!

      Yes… It takes all kinds. Personally I love the straightforward candid in your face up or down in or out heaven or hell type preaching. I can’t stand water down. Both of them are pretty straight up and I appreciate that.

      Lol careful listening to Mark Driscoll… read the New Testament and then ask yourself if Mark represents Jesus like character.

    Love Chandler. I'm pretty sure he's speaking at Mars Hill because I recognize the backdrop and pulpit. @markagates do you know where I can get the full sermon here?

    I'm pretty sure this is from a conference in 2008 at Mars Hill called Text and Context.

      True, but Chandler was one of the folks who kicked Driscoll out of Acts 29, so I think he deserves some cred for standing up to him.

      @@carlosmuller3565 Because Mark Driscoll’s style turned out to be abusive and disqualifying rather than anointed by the Spirit.

      Yes, it was abusive. But I think Chandler also kicked him out of Acts 29, so apparently he changed his mind too.
