In this interview, I got a chance to talk to INFJ TH-camr Frank James on what it's like to be an INFJ Ni-Fe BS/C(P) FF. We started the interview talking about Frank being a walking contradiction being tribe above self because he has Ni+Fe first but having play last (not wanting to expend energy for the tribe). He talked about wanting to serve the tribe but from a distance. We then got in the conversation if work is personal for him and socializing is impersonal which confirmed the Ti and Fe axis. Not long after, we got sucked in the "things" conversation since we're both single observers (lead Ni and lead Ne). We could have talked forever but we needed to wrap it up before we get too carried away.
INFJ Ni-Fe BS/C(P) FF:
Blast (B) = Ni+Fe
Sleep (S) = Ni+Ti
Consume (C) = Ti+Se
Play (P) = Fe+Se
FF = Masculine Ni, Feminine Fe, Masculine Ti, Feminine Se, Tester and Visual mode of learning).

Thanks for having me on your channel, Kendrick, it was a fun interview!
Hey Frank, it was a lot of fun man! Looking forward to talking to you again!
59:10 This was very insightful FJ!
"[When you are an Oi] and there is a sudden change it's harder to adapt because you need to take all the old ways of seeing things and still use them in this new world"
You've fine tuned things around a specific world, and when the world changes, all that work to fine tune things needs to be done all over again to adapt to the new world.
@@Binyamin.Tsadik Yes!
Awesome interview. Both of you should watch the show Years and Years (if you haven't already). Great apocalyptic type story. It's creepier to me than most other apocalypse stories because it feels so plausible.
@@PersonalityTrainer IT was great listening/watching that conversation. Thx lots.
I loved this interview so much, personally am a huge fan of FJ myself.
0:00 how did you feel when you got your type back?
1:40 F and M sensory
3:11 Being B first, P last, tribe above self (P last)
9:20 double decider
13:10 F Fe
18:15 Fe-Ti vs Fi-Te
21:30 M Ni, M Ti, MM Sleep
25:12 info dom
25:45 Savior MM Sleep with Tribe above
41:13 IXXJ conspiricy
45:20 Se Fear
Maybe I come back and finish the interview. It was fun to watch and helpful. Thank you :)
I’m so glad I stumbled onto this great interview!!! I’ve been a fan of FJ’s since the beginning (I’m an INFJ), and now Kendrick Uy/ENFP male, you have me as a new subscriber👍😊
Thanks!
This is AMAZING... I haven't been officially typed but I've typed myself as ISFJ MF BS/C(P) and I'm relating 100% to what he's saying about his animal stack, as it matches with mine... And how it feels to be Play last while being tribe over self.
Really cool that I’m FF BS/C(P) as well - but TeSi - The opening conversation about Play last and De was super accurate!
play last unite 🙌
Frank James 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Love your crazy travel stories, Kendrick. You should do a compilation of these. Good real world examples for this IxxJ to simulate mentally.
Haha, thanks Rose, I didn't realize those stories are interesting to IxxJs!
@@PersonalityTrainer I love them!
This interview was great! It's fascinating to see your understanding! I especially loved the stuff about visual memory. Very useful! Much appreciated. Thx
I still remember physically feeling cold myself when I read The Road 🥶🥶 good book and good movie, very depressing though! And awesome interview guys, thank you ☺️
❤
Apocalyptic scenario:
"You know how there's always this group of people that's going to kill you?"
Frank: "Yeah."
🤣🤣
I'm wondering if I can interview Frank James too. Great interview guys.
“Really good observation”, it is weird to think of work as personal and socializing as random. I like to socialize with any variety of people so I can observe them and the social dynamic. I don’t want to socialize with intimate friends, I want to dive deep with them. Socializing is about exploring something new... for a short time... and easily escapable.
This interview was great!
He's pretty much as close to a classic MBTI INFJ you can get
Wonderful interview!
Failsafe the book was envisioned in the movie Dr. Strangelove (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and love the Bomb) starring Peter Sellers. Both are worth checking out since they were conceptualized in the early 1960s.
Amazing Interview
I get the feeling Frank thinks this whole OPS/MBTI thing is bullshit and he looks surprised that the guy interviewing him takes it so religiously and seriously. It’s almost like he’s a chill dude who’s like “Yeah… I’m doing this for the money bro, I don’t actually take it so seriously.”
“Even if all of this stuff is a big example of confirmation bias and it’s not real *laughs nervously*” - hint hint… it is…. 😭
I also have this feeling 🤔
2 years late for it but i have to disaggree
dont get that feeling at all
he seems way to invested+build his career out of mbti+ early videos where already very introperspective and for the lack of a better term "woho" (not in a bad sense but in a very
open, nf, infj way)
does not come across as money hungry disregard more like a healthy dose of uncertainty.
Love the snake plant. I have two in white pots. They look so sleak!
Thanks haha, my girlfriend put it there, she's happy to hear your compliment. :)
@@PersonalityTrainer ahhh...she has good taste.
I am infj married fourteen years to a enfp. What type is she?
@@randomactivitiesco.5848 she's an INTJ jumper Ni-Fi SC/P(B) FF - I interviewed her in the channel, look for Karen T.
As an infj, enpfs are my fave
CS Joseph said he was INFP... I understand why he thought that. But he seems INFJ.
Best video of the year
"I just like to make fun of people" me too
Hey fyi, Frank says he's BS/C(P) and in the title you have him as BC/S(P). You also have a typo there that says "INJF." Thanks -
The title is wrong but the description is right. Si problems. BC is impossible according to OP.
hey sorry to intrude but who is the David Shan guy who typed fj? And do you mind giving a site where I can try out a test? I am soooooooooooooooo discombobulated right now
@@SQUELCH-zj7il objective personality is their company name, search it in Google and their website will pop up :)
@@SQUELCH-zj7il it's objective personality - could help for you to take the classes.
@@ItsTheQs Yeah I looked it up and....nah I can't spend money on that 💀 but thanks for your help 👍
Frank’s accent sounds sooooo SoCal.
Yeah he’s LA af haha
Hey what reputable site do you recommend I take a test on ? I don't know what the hell is going on here and I'm pretty curious
There's no online test for this, we all got officially typed through a double blind test by Objective Personality (google them and you'll find their website, they have a TH-cam channel also)
49:47 I relate to this a lot
Best of luck
holy cow what an attractive man
Not really. His mid face is way too long and he's got hair coming out his shirt.
@Erza Scarlet I'm not. I'm just being completely objective. His mid face is way too long and out of proportion. He is average at best, but he does have good hair. His hair is his halo effect.
@@Novasterling how is it ‘being objective’ if it’s your subjective opinion?
‘Objective’ would be if multiple people were scaling his attractiveness rating and it all averaging on the reasons that you subjectively find unattractive and flawed.
@@blastoff2086 I know right… Nova is just biased. Frank is attractive and it’s why he has so many subscribers. I think his mid face is really hot, BUT, people usually find others attractive who have very similar DNA to themselves. I also have a longer face. He’s probably hung like a horse though 😂
It’s the voice - the voice is it
How do you get tested by Dave & Shan?
You need to join their class for 2-3 months then purchase the double-blind typing from them afterward.
That does sound Ne Ignoring at 20:15. Kendrick noticed it too. Why do Dave and Shannon think facts and statistics are Se at 1:03:10? That’s Te. Kendrick is also showing developing tertiary Te at 1:17:10. I still find the masculine/feminine distinction of functions completely ridiculous lol.
For what it's worth, it seems that Dave and Shan are defining the functions more carefully and granularly than they are usually defined elsewhere. If these new constructs (the animals, the info/energy coin, masculine/feminine functions) have any validity, then that means that there are more factors involved in the perception of and experience of personality than people in typology communities typically think. But if these constructs are real and there is no theoretical scaffolding for making sense of them, then people will compress all of that rich information into the available constructs, muddying their boundaries. I suspect that this is what's happening, and it's why there is so much contradictory information out there re: functions.
Imagine a person who is only familiar with three types of Pokemon: Water, Fire, and Grass. One day, they encounter an Ice-type. Given their available framework, they determine that this Ice-type is actually a Water-type because it's the best fit available. But there will be features of the Ice-type that don't mesh with the available paradigm. (For example, Water is weak against Grass; Ice is lethal against Grass.) Unless our hypothetical person bites the bullet and expands their typological tools, they will either unproductively muddy the boundaries of what a Water-type is, or they will perhaps rationalize that the Ice-type is some strange Fire-type, since Fire too is lethal against Grass. But this (and all other ad-hoc rationalizations) can only create new ambiguities, because an Ice-type is best treated as an independent construct.
This is what has happened with our popular conception of Te. IMO, Objective Personality's take on Te is more in alignment with what Jung himself had in mind. Te cannot be facts and statistics alone, although it can operate upon them. Per Psychological Types, both Thinking functions are logically oriented and aimed at 'intellectual conclusions.' Raw facts and data are silent on the matter of what is logical. This is Hume's problem of deriving an ought from an is. Sensory facts can only be co-opted by a Thinking function for its particular purposes, and the same is true of abstracted concepts. This is why it's smart that Te is always paired with a perception/observer/irrational function via the animals in OP. No function ever operates on its own.
If you could define Te purely, it would be something like: the function that prioritizes the objective spectrum of thoughts, logic, and rationale. It tends to sacrifice logical depth for logical breadth--for a pragmatic reasoning that can effectively satisfy the needs of the many. The balance of fact versus abstracted reasoning will depend on the makeup of the particular type.
Se and Si is facts but when you combine Se/Si with Te or Ti, you're now doing something with those facts. That's why the old school mentality thinks te is facts when it's really just used together with Se or Si.
He gives me Robert Pattinson vibes
I would have thought Frank Entp
He's INFJ
Frank James is jesus
Did he get typed by objective personality ?
Yep, he mentioned it in the interview :)
@@PersonalityTrainer
interesting.
I believe Frank is really an INFP. Cool guy, though.
I thought the same !
@@l__sonic8736 you have to look at the balance with self and tribe and the obsession between people and things. During our interview, Frank got sucked in the conversation the moment we started talking about "things" which he also acknowledges. IxxPs and ExxJs gets sucked in talking about other people and themselves which is one of the clues you need to take when typing someone.
he clearly has Fe though
@@PersonalityTrainer I found this part of OP a bit confusing. I'm an INFP, but I love talking about things. I can enjoy talking about people as well (particularly analyzing their motives and behaviours), but I definitely light up when discussing things (ideas, concepts, issues, etc.). Your conversation on apocalyptic scenarios was the most interesting part of this video. Particularly how different types might react in an apocalyptic scenario. Does that count as talking about people? Maybe I'm misunderstanding.
P.S. Also, as an INFP, I can assure everyone that Frank is definitely not one. I love my INFJ ppl. I could spot him as an INFJ almost instantly.
@@giishaw92 he's infp or enfp
6.30 YES. Fukkkk..
Or maybe looking in the drawing multiple times is just bad Se because it's POLR;)
who knows, playa
There are too many added things to typing. Etc...
why did u put the etc u didn't even give examples before it lmao
@@hickeydad9835 that’s for someone else to fill in.
ENFP male, I see some Ti in you (not Fi!)... Why is that?
I have no Ti whatsoever, out of all the functions, it's the one function I cannot even fake doing. What is your definition of Ti?
@@PersonalityTrainer Objective (outside of..."you") classification according to subjectively chosen criteria (in contrast to Fi - subjective - very internal - classification according to subjectively chosen criteria) - it means difining elements and then putting them into a framework, which is placed outside of...you (yea, i'm bad at explaining).
Your answer surprised me tbh, it's really kind! (People usually run away when i suggest them something like that :p)
@@thereisnospoon1109 oh I see, thanks for the clarification. You might be seeing me use Si instead of Ti which is using my Ne to gather ideas then organize them in my known facts (Si)
@@PersonalityTrainer it is possible :)
