Martina Happy New Year! It's Taku. I'm glad you've been updating your videos so quickly. The red down jacket is fashionable, cute, and suits you very well. The blue earrings are also fashionable and match the color of the hoodie. I want to be fashionable too 🥰
Different strokes for different folks I guess - I only see the raw beauty of Porto and the surrounding areas. I'd rather see it for what it is than all made up to look pretty. And yes, Porto is a generally very poor Area but the kindness and generosity of its people are unparalleled! I haven't been for a few years now so maybe the imposed severely stupid and unnecessary lockdowns really took their toll on a City that was already struggling! Porto is real and the people are real. That to me is what is important... Oh, and the food is fantastic! (I see you tried a Francesinha - far too filling for me)!
The architecture it is insanely beautiful, gorgeous buildings, Churches and bridges. People are nice and I have not had any unpleasant incidences which I am very happy about. However, the actual inner city of Porto is most definitely not poor... it has modern transport links allowing locals to get from A to B very easily and I am sure the city pays a lot for maintenance as the streets are very clean. The private estate holders are the ones which make the city run down which is very sad. Maybe this is due to inequality in the area I am assuming and locals cannot afford the prices in the area? I am not sure as I am not well researched by this, I only assume from my observations. However, the prices of estates in poor conditions are still very expensive so in my opinion there is no excuse for keeping the buildings in such conditions. What do you think?
@@martinasroka Thanks for the response, much appreciated... Yes, I agree with you regarding the condition of some of the privately owned properties, but from what I have experienced they tend to hold onto real estate no matter the condition rather than sell and move on. A case of Property Rich/Money Poor. But saying that I,ve always been surprised when judging the exterior to be ramshackle and going inside to find a veritable showhouse! A typical case of not judging a book by it's cover.... I miss being there, actually almost bought a place there years ago but had a change of heart regrettably. 😩 (Well the wife did - maybe she didn't want to be so close to all her family...??). But please enjoy the rest of your stay - Matosinhos just north of the City is very nice aswell - nice beaches and Cafes... Ciao...
