Following the success of some of our other collaborations, we're back with another installment of watch shopping with Kevin O'Leary, this time with a budget of $60k. As a disclaimer, this one really brought out our competitive sides as well as a lot of interesting watch selections.

It was very cool to find in his stuff though when he passed away - we are looking to get it restored. I've cast my vote to inherit it but I don't like my chances - I got a big family of eager recipients lol!

That reverso was very impressive. When you turned over the watch I literally said HOLY SHIT!

The Reverso is the most interesting and unique piece; however, I think Kevin's collection gets more bang for the buck. Kevin also picked a couple of nice Omega pieces, and I'm a big fan of Omega.

The IWC Teddy chose is absolutely incredible, something about a green dial really just has a special quality to it

Kevin doesn’t know much about watches above $100k either. From every video I’ve seen, he knows surface level stuff about the hype watches like Journe, but that’s about it.

No one is afraid. They're different vibes and different price points. And like someone just said, Rolex availability doesn't help either.
I totally disagree. It's such a cliche in the watch community to say that. I don't think that's the mindset of most Tudor buyers. I spent weeks thinking about buying a Tudor because I was torn between it and an IWC. Rolex never even entered my mind. If you're buying a Rolex, you're buying it because you want a Rolex. A Tudor's not gonna scratch that itch. I'd say the average Tudor and Rolex buyer are in completely different demos.
That's only a mindset when you are super wealthy

I love the sharing of your tête-à-tête discussions.I do agree with Kevin in that why would I buy a Tudor if I can buy a Rolex? But, the smaller Back Bay is a perfect board meeting watch. Kevin's Seamaster pick has me calling my local Omega retailer as soon as the episode is over! I picked Kevin before the Stars and Stripes move - that was too far, but Kevin's faces are the win.

Have 3 rolex and just bought a pelagos. I wont wear my batgirl but love the pelagos. Tudor is the everyday tool watch i dont have to baby.

He has proven you can't bargain with an Arab, especially an older wealthy one. Go haggle with a Persian carpet salesman. I knew an old guy from Iran who took me to a rug show and it was hilarious. I didn't understand a single word but didn't need to as he explained - with glee - what transpired. The town he grew up in was known for their rugs and he had several in his home.
When he died they passed on to his wife and when she died they passed down to her daughter, a good friend of mine. Some are in the 75-100 year old range.
Watching him with the salesman was a lesson I will never forget.

What I like about Mr O'Leary is his gentle teasing. He genuinely loves watches and its infectious.
One thing for sure, Kevin is a very ambitious and competitive person.

Best single watch has to be the JLC but best overall would be Kevin definitely. Way more styles to choose from and easier to match with in a fashion perspective. Plus the omegas are fire

I'm right there with Kevin regarding that Grey/blue Seamaster AquaTerra. Holy shnikes that dial is gorgeous. I would have gone back after filming to buy it too.
In all honesty, both collections are equal to me, and quite eye popping considering that each collection has a number of watches and a grand total of under 60k. It all comes down to preference, I'd wear any watch from either collection, and I'd feel great about having it on my wrist, and I'd be proud to show the collection as a whole off in either case... No winner here, just two great collections that prove that you don't have to sell your house and car for a reputable collection.
Speedy, Octo, and the Aqua Terra alone blow Teddy out of the water. Impressive

Somehow the Teddy and Kevin combo really works. More than the watches, its the appreciation these two have for each other that really carries it. And they are both very nice people.

I like how Kevin will often times manifest the stereotypical power tripping rich guy just for laughs. It's like he knows the person people expect him to be and he just treads that fine line and acts that way just for fun.

That’s exactly what he is. He has done a masterful job of branding himself. Watch some of his older interviews on CNBC, before becoming famous on Shark Tank. He was very modest and humble, but he now has a character on Shark Tank that people expect him to be 24/7. It’s not an insult to him. Kevin O’Leary is now a brand and he has to maintain a certain image that he created.
I will say that after seeing him in these videos with Teddy I have a whole new outlook on Kevin.

Kevin's Lebanon IWC is a gorgeous piece!
Best single pick overall: Teddy with the Reverso! Best balance of collection, it felt a little similar overall with the back and forth... though Kevin (I have to say) pulled out the lead on total collection. If Teddy swapped the Rail Master for a Globe Master on the blue croc, that would have made it much closer.
The Bulova Stars & Stripes was re issued by Bulova in a quartz it is slightly bigger than the original issued in 1976 for the bicentennial. I own the re-issued one, like it very much. The price you paid for the original one Teddy was very good, the best deal of the bunch. I have seen it as high as $ 7500. I am a Bulova man my oldest piece is a 1947 I still wear regularly.
Without the "correction" at the end Teddy wins, hands down. After his selection was "improved" Kevin takes it.
Kevin's IWC is amazing. Like his pick of the Aqua Terra since everyone goes toward the larger drivers like the seamaster 300.

I regret selling my speed master. I should buy another one. Gorgeous, well made, and amazing watch. But the star of that entire lineup was the Stars and Stripes Bulova hands down. Such a great looking watch.
I liked two of Teddy's picks; the Pelago and the Reverso, but Teddy broke the rules, increasing Kevin's margin of victory.

It's amazing to see a watch video for once without a Rolex being the centre of attention...I've been a huge fan of Teddy's for a while now because he's a proponent of featuring a wide variety of watch brands across all his content. Having said that, being that the Octofinissimo line has been awarded so many different GPHG prizes, there is more to it than meets the eye. I am actually planning to buy it as my next watch acquisition. But it is good to know what people this of the watch out there.
