You’re killing me passing up abalone and sea urchin’s… i’m an old geezer and when I was younger we had abalone everywhere like you guys do now. With all that kelp around the urchins will be fat and succulent, same for the abalone. I’m jealous, glad I could join you. It’s also good to see you have just the right amount of horsepower pushing your boat… most guys would have 300 hp. Good for you!
The Paua (Abalone) were well undersized so I disn't bother taking them. Have to be 125mm where those were probably around 100mm

MATE! have you seen the video Lose Less Fish video by Down Deep Adventures, basically making a point out of the flopper with a bench grinder. Makes it harder to get the fish off when you have it in your hands but I'll take that stress over seeing that big kingie swim off. farrr out! I'd be seeing that one in my dreams for a few weeks haha great mission dude, decent boat here for you to use in Brissy if you ever wanted one. 22°C water temp at the moment

I love the solo diving but at night wow you have balls free diving. I e recently moved to the Marlborough Sounds. I free dive open on my own early in the morning is my peak call just before sunlight. But at dusk there’s a few bronzes in the Cook Strait that just don’t allow me to 😂😂
