I've been in the wireless industry going on 30 years next month. I started in 1992 as a car phone installer back when only lawyers, doctors and big wigs could afford them. My first phone was a used Fujitsu Commander FX - a 3 watt behemoth paired with a 3db gain glass mount antenna that I installed in my own car.

As a former Ericsson employee, I was positively surprised that the old E/// was still the 7th at the end, despite no phone produced since 2010 or so. Actually, the mobile business was converted first to SonyEricsson and then transferred to Sony, so I thought the same change will happen here too, but not.
BTW if you find it strange how Nokia is tops. Its because continents like Asia and Africa love them because they are cheap yet sturdy. Hard to break them.
I was a 70s and 80s kid and I know the value of people not expecting you to be at their beck and call 24/7. Just letting the answering machine get it and not having someone have a hissy fit because you didn't pick up the phone the second they called.
I'm currently using a Motorola phone to watch this video. My favorite thing about it is the removable battery, a feature that has been eliminated by most brands. Instead of fiddling with fragile charging cords, I just let it run down and then swap to a fresh battery. I wish there was a phone with a small internal battery and a larger one that could be swapped, though. Then I wouldn't have to power it down every time.

For some reason, I feel like the HTC G1 and Evo phones started the touchscreen smartphone trend, not Apple. Because even though Apple was already a super popular company back then, not a lot of people were ready to go the iPhone route right away. It was HTC that pushed people and phone manufacturers in that direction. Samsung simply carried the torch from HTC. And Blackberry helped with the transition from flip phone/dumb phone to smartphone by giving people access to social media on a large screen. I know I rambled a bit on here, but it's just so interesting to me how fast we went from simple phones like flip phones that were mainly used to just talk to people to these mini-computer touchscreen phones in such a short period of time.

Matt Obra I disagree. Apple may have less features than Android devices, but Apple is always more polished. Apple does tend to be late on the scene but when they show up, they execute better than almost all Android devices. When you pair that with AirPods, Apple Watch and all of the other Apple products, you get a brilliant user experience that other manufacturers can’t offer.

@Matt Obra Like I said, Apple provides a good user experience across all of its devices. In my original comment, I said "pair that up with AirPods" because AirPods are designed to work best with iPhones. Sorry you had an unsatisfactory experience with AirPods but there is a reason they're the best-selling headphones/buds of all time.

I love how Apple never even passed Nokia and Samsung, probably because Apple is so expensive.
Apple are making their products expensive because of the high quality, and also they just want to be rich, seriously the 1st IMac costs 1500
Matt Obra I disagree. Apple may have less features than Android devices, but Apple is always more polished. Apple does tend to be late on the scene but when they show up, they execute better than almost all Android devices. When you pair that with AirPods, Apple Watch and all of the other Apple products, you get a brilliant user experience that other manufacturers can’t offer.
alonso. FACTS🙌🏾
@@sagamappersmasea9365 not really. lets talk about iphone 11 pro max. its so expensive but a samsung galaxy s10+ is so much cheaper and so much better.
