Silver mirroring

In this tutorial, it is presented different steps to produce a silver mirror:
a) Cut Float glass samples (approx. strips size 15x120mm);
b) Prepare the following solutions: 150 mL of 0.8M KOH solution 300 mL of 0.1M AgNO3 solution, 100 mL of 0.5M C6H12O6 solution;
c) Clean very carefully the glass samples;
d )In a 600ml beaker add 225ml of 0.1M AgNO 3 solution and 112.5 ml of 0.8M KOH solution, giving rise to a brown precipitate;
e) Under agitation add slowly (drops) 25% NH3 until the precipitate dissolves completely;
f) Put the glass samples in the solution, inside the beaker.
g) Add, slowly, 75ml of 0.5M C6H12O6, under stirring.
Observe the silver film formation on the beaker and on the glass samples
