    I am a GC in Wyoming, and have a small crew of carpenters and skilled laborers. I love the way you handle day-to-day problems, weather, breakdowns, etc. Your patience is commendable and you treat all of your employees, family or other, with respect and trust…. You are a great employer!

    Save a lot of money having the repair equipment handy and the knowledge to figure things out quickly. Keeps downtime to a minimum.

      Boy Andy.. that just makes you think. Doesn't it? The Nancy's and Sallies out there.. "just keep welding the blower house" what kind of junk they think there Farming with.. Bet there equipment is only worth a penny a pound.. I surely wouldn't give them more then that!! Here in Michigan. If you drove on the road and leaking manure... there would be 4 or 5 cop cars sitting in your yard..

    The Highway Dept in My County is proactive with Farmers to get the Roads cleaned up.
    several of the big Farms near Me have rotary Brooms on a Skid steer. Does a better job than a Bucket..
    A bridle of string on the Front of the Hose probably would have helped to pull it trough.
    Through my 37 Year carrier in the Telco business I have pulled 1 1/2" to 3" Smurf Tube through tough places and with the string pulling dead center instead of off to the side works wonders.

    If you get a hold of Iowa Mold and Tool. They sell 45 gal. Oil tank that goes in the back of a service truck. You then use a drum pump to move the oil. I have 2 in the back of mine. 1 for hydraulic and 1 for motor oil.

  • @pete9705
    @pete9705 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Does the spout have an accumulator for the hydraulic line/cylinder? If it does, it's possible it might have lost its charge causing more stress on that housing.

    • @mfreund15448
      @mfreund15448 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      It is wearing from the inside out. The hundreds of thousands of tons of silage have made the housing thin, causing cracks.

    • @pete9705
      @pete9705 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mfreund15448 I'm guessing there is a wear liner inside the housing, so the housing itself never wears.

      Probably about a million tons. They'd cut around 130-140,000 tons a year based on feeding 2000 cows in lactation plus dry cows and young stock. I think that chopper has done about 7 or so seasons.

    Dear Andy,
    I have five degrees farming with a focus on dairy herds from TH-cam University. Plus I have one of the largest spreads to date in Farm Simulator, which I focus on about 12 to 14 hours a day from mom's basement. So yes I feel I have more experience than yourself. I mention such as I offer my expertise and guidance, if you ever need it.

    • @m.j.l.abulle9107

      Old loader tractors had hoses right to the control valves by your right shoulder . A woman near here probably 50 years ago was loading shit in box spreader a hose ruptured and a spray of oil went right through her heavy jacket and coveralls and shirt near her right shoulder. Sick for a year got better 17 or 18 years later she got a cancerous tumor right on that spot she died a year later.
