Still to this day one of the best ever gigs I’ve ever been to. A few have come close but for me this is slipknot at their brutal best.

Slipknot was one of the first bands I listened to that got me into metal music in my early teens and disasterpiece was the first song I heard from them...now 32 still listen to these guys and forever will 🤘🤘

Last month me and my wife had the same experience she knows Slipknot is my favorite band but she is not even a metalhead but she got us both tickets to their concert, watching her get hyped over my favorite songs made my entire year :D
The pledge of allegiance tour was the best first and best performance seeing slipknot. I’ve seen them about 8 times.
I didn't even have to watch the rest of the vid to like this. When you said it hurt your feelings when that girl said that shit, I felt that! lol

I remember me and my buddies stayed at a friend's house, up all night to be first in line at Best Buy to buy IOWA when it came out - got it, biked home as fast as possible, put it on and just went berserk before going to school.
Oh, and one of our buddies wasn't allowed to stay out with us on a school night so he hopped on his bike at 6am to book it across town to meet up with us - he went off a curb wrong, bailed, and the handlebar hit him in the stomach rupturing his spleen. When he was done with surgery, we were allowed to call him (after school obviously), and we played him the whole record on the phone.

I basically found out about Slipknot when their debut just came out I was in a record store and saw the cover and then my first thought was how can this be bad then looked on the back saw they were on Roadrunner records which anything on that label at the time was gold (now not so much) then basically listened to about a min of it and simply went ill take it and not one regret was had that day and from that day forth have been a big fan 🤟 also Iowa is the shit and easily my favorite by them too.

Iowa hands down is my favorite album as well. First Slipknot album I ever owned. Iowa got me through more than I could ever describe and I blast it at full volume everyday. I would suggest Purity or Prothestics for her to check out.

Where to go from here? Depends on the direction you want to take her in, Mat. Given what I've watched with Chels on the channel, she'd probably enjoy either Vol 3: Subliminal Verses or the Grey Chapter the most in terms of content. If she enjoys Tallah, Slipknot's first album would be the closest mirror match to that, with using more samples. For something newer, I'd wager that she would enjoy Nero Forte a lot. For something older? Purity, all day long.

Iowa's my favorite album of all time as well! You were noting how their intensity Won't be the same due to age, but honestly I think it's important to note that the REASON this is the heaviest album is because it was the album that nearly BROKE the band. I mean from drugs, alcohol (corey stating he drank a bottle of jack in the morning, and one before bed), disputes, possible family matters... it's no wonder you can't make an album like this any more, you would be risking so much of your life and soul & would have to put yourself in a daaaaark place in which not many have been able to escape from.
For guys being in their late 40's, I personally still think WANYK fucking slaps. It's my second favorite for sure right below Iowa.
