I love how Emily is going through explaining why the deformed one wouldn't survive in the wild while Ed just keeps interjecting with essentially "But he's a good boy!"
I appreciate the fact you guys returned the dead one too. People always ask me to remove dead snakes from their yards and I usually move it to a more natural area where they can decompose naturally.
It's not necessarily because of the tail, but the tail is a symptom of an abnormal development. We have no way of knowing what else went wrong with the poor dude.
@@atla8438 When they were saying "ohhhh, he's the hook-tail baby!" I don't think they were saying that's why he died, I think they were referring back to the first video. When they started this video, they thought he was a newly hatched turtle, and had come out of one of the eggs in that bin. But then when they saw the tail, they remembered he was one of the turtles who had hatched in the first bin in the first video. They'd moved him to the second bin because he hadn't absorbed all of his yolk yet, and they wanted that to happen before they released him into the wild. I think they were surprised that he died though - I think they were expecting Quasimodo to die, and for the hook tail baby to survive. The hook tail baby could have died from many things, completely unrelated to his tail. But also, if you think about it, a deformed tail on a turtle is a deformity of their spine. It's possible he also had another spinal deformity that was fatal.

You have been counting?
it was a few days for the first clip but they then waited 3 months for the second clip for this video,
I dub him, Lil' Eddie. Grow strong and live well, Lil' Eddie, for however long that may be.
Can we all talk about Emila's belt having the Captain America shield-
Also, it's good that at least some of the babies made it!!
omg i teared up when u said Edd fell in luv w/ the deformed lil dude...... he is so cute!!!
The way the eyeless snappers teeny tiny feet were moving while he was swimming was so darn cute🥺
emily and ed: releases a dozen snapping turtles into that river
me: never swimming in that river
The deformed baby is beautiful. Thanks for taking care of him. He's truly trying his best after some bad odds.
Me: [reads title] OOOOOO THE BABIES I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE BABIES
The babies look so cute!

So glad you kept the differently abled snapper. It is such special little thing. It’s so great that you gave it a chance at life.
I LOVE C SHELL and the fact his enrichment is Marijuana leaves XDDDDD
I really love being part of patreon. Been super excited waiting for this video 💕🐢
Me too...I just joined recently and I’m so glad I did. I wish I’d been able to when they first got it
I haven't joined there patreon, but if I have enough money I might join.
@@megaball-ps8tq depending on the country you're in and the exchange rate it's not terribly expensive. It's $6 bit I'm from the UK so it's about £4.50 ish a month.
If the baby makes, keep for another educational ambassador and possible friend for your other snapping turtle unless snapping turtles can’t live together.
Pretty sure snapping turtles can't cohab, especially if they are this different in size, cause the bigger would eat the smaller
@@MalaReaper Though if they were the same size can they or would they fight for territory . Granted it would take a few years for the baby to be full-grown
Ed falling in love with the deformed baby and wanting to keep it is me.
Same
I'd have voted for culling, but I'm thrilled that Ed is going to give this turtle the best care possible. Go Ed! Good luck little turtle. You got this.
i’ve been anticipating this video for so long!! i’m so glad he’s doing okay!
I bought a calender and it came like 2 days ago and when I found it signed I flipped out I was screaming you guys are incredible keep doing what you are doing making the world a better place thank you soooo much you two made my year
Omg you liked my comment 😀
The deformity is probably from being thrown around. If it was genetic i would think there would be more with issues 🤔
The turtles were so cute! The deformed one was also cute, regardless of what my friends said.
R I P
Baby turtle with the hook tail
They were cute indeed
It's a turtle, how could it not be cute??
I just found out about this channel recently and they seem like the kindest people I’ve always had a love for reptiles throughout my life so finding channels like this one always make me happy
If Ed is anything like my daughter, who was born with no eyes, he will be just fine!
This was an unexpected comment but I hope one day she may be able to see one day
@@PastelShark123 if there's no eyes that isn't a possibility. Also theres nothing wrong with being blind, it isn't a tragedy it's how she's always lived she doesn't know any differently. Suddenly gaining sight would be extremely alarming and overwhelming, much like with deaf people who get implants to hear. Im sure she's perfectly happy how she is, there's no need to "fix" her.
@@licoriceveins9632 You'd be surprised with how advanced medical technology is getting.
Like
I'm also suprised
@@cookiecraftfriend1051 even so, that doesn't change the rest of my point. And yes, technology can be pretty advance but as far as im aware they can't even fix profound blindness WITH eye tissues, without is still out of the question
@@licoriceveins9632 I know but they are working on it is my point
Really!? I didn’t think there was gonna be a part two it’s been so long since part 1!😃
i just assumed editing took a while bc of how busy they r with the new facility :)
Love you're videos Emily! Also, I look forward to your facility being opened so my husband and I can visit
i look forward to it to and i am 9
Emily: Looks like he has Scoliosis
Me to me my sister with Scoliosis: Hey, I found your twin 😂
😂😂
My sister heard that part in the video and turned to me and went “Is that my offspring?” Because she has scoliosis too 😂
Sibling love 😂
watching this in 2021 and wondering what happened to the eyeless dude? would love an update even if it's sad!
Awww he’s exploring!! I love this blind little turtle🥰
Thats sad that some didnt survive, but at least you saved most of the eggs! Great job incubating them, and I hope the little special needs snapper makes it!
He is so cute! Seems like he’s liking his new home it would definitely be cool if he did continue to grow.
Hello from Manitoba, Canada!! My 6 yr old little boy absolutely loves your channel. This episode was special to him. His empathy towards the passing of one, the deformed snapping was sweet. Thanks so much for teaching children about nature with kindness. Ps. My son giggled as he asked Ed to name the Snapping Turtle "Sheldon". Hehehe
I found that ending wholesome bc even though the rest of the eggs didn't make it, there was one stubborn lil boi who wanted to live, and he's trying his hecken best. I hope he does well and continues to improve.
Okay I won't get my hopes up on eds baby snapper UNTIL they give him a name! The second he has a name i would die for him 😍🤣
Icr the name of the deformed character in The Goonies but thats what his name should be lol
Aw I don’t think it was a sad ending. It’s so nice to see the little one surviving. Thank you and the girls for saving these turtles! Every single life matters!
I’m guessing a lot of the eggs didn’t make it because of the kids that threw it
:(
No it’s just nature. Some eggs make it and some don’t. Even if the kids didn’t touch it some of them still wouldve died
I’m assuming that too, possibly because they were rotated and such
@@rachelanelalanimazzone427 that’s a very good reason too
@@RC.- I was just saying why so many died because usually it would be a higher hatch rate
it could just be an unfortunate clutch
I love how Ed keeps defending the little deformed turtle. It's adorable that Ed is really a softie!!!
The excitement that they feel while candling reptile eggs is the same joy i feel when candling chicken eggs when incubating them. Pure joy
That little blind turtle is bringing me to tears, I hope that he makes it to a ripe old age 😭
I'm so glad the little blind baby is doing surprisingly well! No matter how long his life is, at least he will have a good one!
is there anyway i could see your jolyne cosplay as a whole🥺👉🏼👈🏼
