I always love Geoff's interactions with himself; this one seemed to have more than usual. Even though the tone was very dark, he smiled at himself more often. And when tenor Geoff was singing that highest line, the Geoff to his right, our left, closed his eyes and seemed enthralled. I have never seen him do that before. It was glorious. He planned to do something else (he won't say what it was), but "the boss", Kathy said he had to do this carol and make it epic. Mission accomplished! Great to have you back!!
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I’ve missed your reactions. As you’re probably aware, VoicePlay released two songs in December. First was Zat You Santa Claus?, which was a lot of fun. Then later in December the released a new Warframe song, Party of Your Lifetime. Before those, they also released Stand By Me. Since it’s in vertical format many reactors skipped it, thinking it was a mini. But they only filmed that way because Mykal’s time was so limited and they had already spent a couple days setting up and filming Be Prepared. So I hope you’ll also react to that one and feel the love for this original member of 4The Love.
Welcome back! Geoff created such a fascinating arrangement of this piece (and on the Patreon release, he was lamenting the repetitiveness of it, but he truly has a gift for enlivening repetitive songs, doesn't he?); I think he took Carol of the Bells from being one of my favorite carols to possibly my very favorite (but particularly his version). Although his cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen may give it some competition... But anyway, I'm always in awe of how he transforms familiar songs into something both new and yet respectfully resembling. It's such a fine line to walk, and he always does it masterfully. And those signature crunchy chord progressions he always throws in- delightful!
Even with the repetitiveness, Carol of the Bells is already one of my favourite Christmas songs, so I always love it when artists put their own spin on it! 😍
This is like a movie score in the background, isn't it? It's been called the "Die Hard of Christmas carols." The first time I heard it, I thought it sounded like it belonged in the background of a Christmas action movie, and felt a bit silly thinking that. Not just me, though, apparently. Welcome back and happy 2025!💜
Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's epic Christmas release. A little over two weeks after release this one exceeded one million TH-cam views on Christmas Eve. I have run out of superlatives! I enjoy the unexpected ways that Geoff arranges music nearly as much as his vocals. Since Geoff adds all of the instrumentals himself using his keyboard and plug-ins it's really interesting. Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage!
Yes! I didn't open the video so as to avoid being spoiled, so I was totally surprised by the number of views it has gotten! What a fantastic Christmas gift for him (and all of us!) 🎁
The viral Christmas song of 2024. One million views by Christmas Eve! What an EPIC arrangement and performance by Geoff. Will be on my Christmas music list for years to come!
Welcome back 🎉 Happy New Year 🥳🍀 This cover is really EPIC ❤ I'm not into all the normal Christmas songs and carols, but this one was more like a "battle song", I think because of the percussion and I LOVE it 🥰
This is actually my favorite version of this. I'm old, cranky, and nothing irritates me more than hearing things done the same way I've already heard them for 70 years. Some folks crave the comfort of repetition: to me it's just massively boring. So that may well influence the way I hear this. I loved the surprise, and the "Geoff-ian" musicality of it. I thought it was gorgeous.
This was ‘Carol of the Bells’ as heard from up inside the Cathedral Belfry! And for me part of the feeling of those huge cathedral bells comes with that distortion you mentioned. As if one continues to hear the echoing ringing of the bells overlapping. That change in cadence in the beginning also helps it feel like the start of a group of bell ringers with the way getting one of those huge bells ringing would begin slowly.
Hi and sorry your Christmas wasn't the best. I struggle to listen to PTX they, in my opinion, are way too polished, produced and clean. I prefer to listen to independent artists who have the freedom to add their own ''spice'' and Geoff surely does with this version. 1 million views in a week and a half, I think he nailed it and outshone PTX in every way, just my opinion mind : )
It took us a while but we're back! Sorry for the hiatus, happy new year and let's all have a fantastic 2025! 🎉🎊🔥
so sorry you were unwell. Sounds miserable - but glad to see you both looking healthy and back with us.
@@Aurora-cv5toGlad to be back!! 🔥
Welcome home! Your reactions are always so wholesome. Happy 2025!
Never a dull second with Geoff. A real rollercoaster ride!!
Felt like a drop tower with all those deep bass notes! 😱

Gotta love when Geoff does his "where is this tangent taking us" chord progressions. 😊
“Raising the sound 🎶 ” really got us! 🤣

Geoff has such a reliable G1 chest and this D1 sub rattles your bones!
The happy wiggle when the humming started is SOOOO Relateable!

Sorry about all your issues! Hiatuses are sometimes necessary though 😉. Happy New Year - a fantastic arrangement by Geoff. Glad you are better! 🌹🕊
