    You are teaching me to say it is OK and it is flowing into the rest of my life! You are teaching me serenity. Thank you!

      Oh that makes me SO happy to hear. Yes, perfectionism is a sure fire way to eventually hate doing something. Joy is going with it and saying, yup, it's good enough and moving on. ❤️

    Travel plans give us so much to look forward to. That’s what I missed so much during the past year and a half.
    I cut my and my husband’s hair last year by watching TH-cam videos. I must say, my haircut was the best because I didn’t cut it too short as my hairdresser always did. My hair hasn’t been highlighted for a year and a half either and I rather like the natural color.

    • @ArianeZurcher212
      @ArianeZurcher212  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Isn't it great to not have to go to the hairdresser? I love that. Never enjoyed going, always tried to extend the time between going as long as I possibly could and that doesn't even take into account the amount of money saved. Freedom!!
      Travel... I feel the same way Ann. It is what my husband and I love doing more than anything else. If we could, we would just travel all over the world. ❤️

    Hi Ariane. Your stitching is gorgeous!
    You must be so excited about your trips. Keep a space in your suitcase for some African fabrics. I lived in Dakar, Senegal for 3 years and the markets were all full of fantastic bright coloured local fabrics and all sorts of waxed batiks. I wish I could go back as my stash has long since disappeared. My husband used to buy fabrics in the market and get all his clothes made to measure by one of the tailors who had a workshop just nearby. No problem finding suitable clothes for Egypt in any African market!

      Hi Faith, how amazing that must have been to live in Senegal. I am beyond excited. In fact I don't know that I've ever been THIS excited about a trip. Great idea about the fabrics and finding something to wear in Egypt for my husband!! ❤️💕❤️

    I hope Richard breaks in those hiking boots before you go to Africa! I also hope he bought some good padded socks too! Good for him for ordering a caftan. They do look comfortable.
    I’m a very short, “curvy” woman. Buying a light floor length dress isn’t easy for me. I adore them but they usually dragon the floor and I tend to look like a stuffed snowman. Haha.
    I cannot believe you ripped out all those silk flowers. I loved them! That’ll be one very large pin cushion!
    I love NY City. I was there when I was 14 (I’m now 65) and would love to go back but hubby isn’t a big city guy.
    I could only imagine what everyone there went through during the height of the pandemic. Crazy.
    Thank you for showing the silk flowers. When I can, I will order from SF and get some of her yummy stuff. It’ll be a bit as we have other priorities.

      Hi Martha, yes to breaking in those hiking boots. Just what we don't need is another blister nightmare!!
      I hear you regarding the floor length dresses. I'm considered tall and yet even for me some of the floor length dresses are skimming the floor!
      You're not the only one who was surprised that I tore all those silk ribbon roses out, but you have to go with your gut and I felt they were just too much and took away from the design.
      NYC has been my home for more than 40 years now. I love it as much today as I did that first day that I arrived. But it is not for everyone!
      ❤️💕❤️

    Hi Ariane, I was so excited to see you had a new video up this morning. I love weekend lazy mornings when I can sit with a cup of coffee, work on a hand stitching project and watch your videos. I love listening to your stories and watching you stitch. I am hoping you will be sharing your adventures to Africa and Egypt!

      I'm so glad Debbie. ❤️💕❤️
      I am planning on doing another travelogue with both trips. I'll have to see how the wifi is and if I'm able to, but I'll certainly take a lot of footage and will upload whenever I can! ❤️

    Good to go out with you. Fabulous travel plans as long as shoes are well run in, clothes are carefully chosen and a good medical pack is carried!! Got my Merrills in 2007 in Kittery ME and still wear them when I need to walk comfortably anywhere. Had a foot appointment last Wednesday and a dry hair trim on Thursday and now I'm in bed with a temperature so my immune system has failed🙁 - not that we're fully out of Lockdown anyway but I was so looking forward to getting out a little this week. Hope to watch your Livestream later☺

      Oh Jean, I'm so sorry to hear. Is this related to shingles? Or in addition to? A good pair of shoes is essential no matter where one is. I'm thinking of you and hoping you feel better. ❤️

    By the way I bought two containers of Ben and Jerry Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz yesterday. Plus another flavor Strawberry Topped Tart. I prefer the coffee one. See what you started!

    Very cool! Your trips sound like they will be amazing!! I went to Kazakhstan and Bangladesh for consulting and especially struggled with what to wear in Bangladesh. I was mainly working with men and on dairy farms. People here in the US, especially men colleagues thought I needed to be covered. I found that expectations by Muslims of what non Muslims wear is very different. I ended up just wearing my work coveralls over a nice shirt and blue jeans was fine. I did have to wear a big hat and sun block for protection against the sun, based on season and in southern Kazakhstan. I imagine you’ll be in somewhat touristy places and normal comfortable attire will be fine. But,… go with what your tour guide or hotel or embassy recommend. Have fun!!

      There you able to spend some time sight seeing as well? I remember work trips meant long hours and no time to do anything else! Linen pants are recommended and long sleeve shirts for men. We were told absolutely no shorts. The caftan may be a bit much, but… ❤️🤣❤️

    Hi Ariane, Another inspiring video! We loved your video of Little Island too. I was wondering if you could talk about bead hole size versus thread and needle size? Thanks, Deb

    • @ArianeZurcher212
      @ArianeZurcher212  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tell me more about what you mean Deb. Do you mean what size bead do you use for what size needle and thread? If so, I can talk about that in one of my videos. ❤️

      @@ArianeZurcher212 That's what I mean. I want to be able to get my decorative embroidery thread and needle through the bead hole, particularly seed beads. Thanks, Deb

    Jeez, food poisoning, a broken elbow, messed up feet…..and those are the only trips I have heard about. I would stay in my backyard thousands of miles away from gorillas!
    Your piece was really nice with the different coloured greens. I liked it better that way, just my opinion.
    I have a plain beige linen piece to do my practice stitches on. This morning I picked up some different leaves while out walking. I placed them on this piece and spray painted and splattered around them. Just waiting for it to dry.

  • @lindak7499
    @lindak7499 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    OK I have to ask, why did you remove those beautiful ribbon roses? I felt like they added so much to the piece - another textural element. Realizing it is your design to do with what you choose - but I am curious.

    • @ArianeZurcher212
      @ArianeZurcher212  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I decided that they took away from the organic shapes too much and so off they went! ❤️

  • @vickievaristo7447
    @vickievaristo7447 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why did you rip out all of your ribbon roses?

    • @ArianeZurcher212
      @ArianeZurcher212  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I decided it was adding too much added texture and wanted the flatness of the wool to be restored. ❤️

    🥰💕Good morning! Love alll your videos. I have to say I sent your Ice-cream situation video to my husband & daughter the ice cream experts & we had to try B&J Coffee Buzz Buzz! It is amazing. We figured it out it tastes like a “Manhattan Special” drink! You must try that on ice we buy the diet one. Try it. Please let me know if you try Pistachio Pistachio. But now yours is my new favorite. thanks for the stitching & ice cream inspiration. Mariaknits27 🥰💕💃🏻🧵🪡🍨

      @ArianeZurcher212  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm thinking that your Pistachio Pistachio may be the gateway ice cream that will end up with me back into the Coffee. 💕😂💕 For now I'm going to take a breather from ice cream and anything that has coffee in it, but will certainly report back if I ever dive back into the world of ice cream! ❤️
