Love watching you create! Your process is working for you and your vessel! I like weird too and your vessel already contains the unexpected and sometimes “weird” expressions in all the different facets of your stitching and use of color. Looking forward to seeing how you will use the silk tubes!
Thx Deb. Haha! Yup, finally found a place for the carrier rod and stitched it down. Will be in the next video. I'm looking forward to seeing how I pull this vessel off!! ❤😂❤Because at the moment, it's not clear to me...
Great video. Looking at this piece, one would need to be blind to not see how much work and attention has been given to it. Magnificent. I don't know why, but I'm drawn to that small "cutout" piece. It's all so interesting to see how you've managed to incorporate so many different textures. And that unboxing of Stef Francis.........treasures galore. Thanks for sharing this process. Also thanks for the close up camera shots.
Continue to love these videos and your joie de vivre experimentation! You’ve got my fingers itching to make a vessel though it looks pretty daunting too. I hear you about space though and I’m thinking about a significant re-org of my apartment to create more space. Ah for a studio! Thanks for sharing your process ❤
The phrase at the end - “I have to cut back but here I’m going to add and here I’m going to add and here I’m going to add…” cracked me up. Enjoy the process and don’t worry about when it’s done. By the way - holes are a fun way to show space and are art in themselves. The vessel is going to be HUGE! 😮 Loki is adorable and clearly brings you joy. ❤
@@marthamanigross Martha! I love this “holes are a fun way to show space… “ because I immediately thought- YES, I know this. Why aren’t I adding holes?! I love holes. Embrace the holes. ❤️😂❤️
Love to watch how you solve problems, while I a sitting here yelling at you, " NO, NO don't cut that I like it the way it is." I am so glad you can not hear me. Best to you.
hahaha! you shoulda heard me shouting through the screen: take off the button Ariane!! hihihi! loving the incredible progress you've made on this - you work so fast!
I have a link for the needles I use below the video in the description section. I like using Tulip but I also really like using Golden Eye Chenille. Link here: amzn.to/3zruO7y and for 18 Chenille: amzn.to/3MXrHHu
I love this! It has me getting out my needle-felting tool again! I am curious - I bought some colored burlap several years ago and discovered that it - purple and turquoise - faded drastically just sitting in the sewing room. That gold fringe you got from wrapping it around that button works so well. I just hope it is color-fast! I hate it when beauty fades too quickly!
@@katpaints hi Kat - I haven’t had that happen. The burlap I used around that button I’ve had for several years and it’s still pretty vibrant. Maybe yours was done with natural dyes that weren’t treated? That’s the only time I’ve had colors fade as you describe. ❤️
@@ArianeZurcher212 That's very possible. Fabric Depot used to be the closest fabric store to me, before they closed. They had EVERYTHING from pretty burlaps to fine wedding/formal fabrics and a room with the best of their outdoor summer sale! Plus they had regular wonderful 40-50% off sales! I had also worked at a Hancock's so my supply is still amazing even though the stores have been gone for years. I just wish I had picked up more woolens. I have a couple lengths bought for a jacket and slacks but they might not be 100% since I've not found moth damage.
@@Reginaropi hi Regina! They are silk and are called silk carrier rods. They are what is left during the silk reeling process when the silk is removed from the cocoons. ❤️💕❤️ They are also malleable and you can stitch through them.
So much beauty and so much creativity . You are so talented . Thank you for sharing
