Starmer said actions, not words, would heal the trust deficit with government, and said that he had been given a clear mandate for change. He also paid tribute during his speech to his predecessor, Rishi Sunak, on becoming the first British Asian prime minister, thanking him for his dedication

We will find out over the next year or two whether the public warm to him or not. I think he will be a very boring but stable prime minister, which is what we need. Boring is ok 👌
That’s what happened when we got the conservatives in, to teach labour a lesson.

I mean if that was the reason surely they could just vote for a party they feel they connect to rather than elect in a party they don't want. Sounds like a daft analysis

Lowering taxes😂 they will go up to pay for all the things they want to do that's a given.
How do you expect him to do that? Less tax means less money for the NHS, schools, and all those rather important things. The economy is in a bad state. He can't just do a load of things that would make it worse. He needs to raise money somehow and improve how it is being used. That's not something you can just achieve quickly. He can't just undo the damage Truss did just because he wants to. He can't magically reduce the NHS waiting lists without additional expenditure. If he lowers immigration we will have a period where some jobs aren't filled and we're getting less tax revenue because we have less workers.
Any government in this position would need some time to get things back on track.
Nothing like that will happen. Both labour and the conservatives just cause trouble for the masses. You will see the results soon
Have you looked at any news in the last few weeks? Labour have openly said they are going to raise taxes
Dream on, this is just another set of WEF puppets, like the weak opposition.

- Close tax loopholes
- Tax the rich
- Cap bankers bonuses
- End the horrendous Tory austerity immediately
- Bring national rail, water, electricity & gas services back in to public ownership

Unironically amazing policies... that he then won't enact. Labour ain't been for the working class since 1997. I'd say rn the only way forward is the Socialist Party but they're still tiny :/

2 early mistakes. 1/ praising Sunak, he was toxic. 2/ saying this great country of ours. The UK is a cesspool, bankrupt and a global laughing stock.
I do not think these are mistakes. These are rather signs of the new era. The previous gov let UK bend down, but the communists and the liberals will ruin what is LEFT. Brits will pay the price.
Uk just hasnt been great for a few decades though has it mate
Well, he didn't praise Sunak - he just patronised him; the UK is still great because of the ordinary people. There are bad things about the UK and in many ways it has deteriorated over the last 40-50 years. However, most of us still enjoy an enviable degree of personal safety, we don't go hungry and we have access to free healthcare. Why stress if others laugh at you? Do you get ruffled if your neighbours poke fun at you? Please, enrol in a self-esteem class and learn to walk tall! 😉
