So interesting. I am a Jew. I have a friend who is Chikasaw, Cherokee, and Jewish. She mentions how many teachings from all these nations cross over and are similar to most all of the nations whose original home is on this continent. The Jewish term for "Good heart" is לב טוב, lev tov. The teachings around this term we apply to others and strive for in ourselves is almost identical to what you shared. Thank you for sharing this and helping me hear first hand how similar some of both our nation's teachings are. It is beautiful how many truths are written in and on us if we would take time to listen and understand what Creator has provided for us to learn from and know and become. Thank you again for sharing.
I recently met a lady who is an actress and Ashkenazi and Anishnaabe. I myself am half Jewish with a small amount of of N. Earthern Woodlands Native ancestry. Both my Jewish and Native ancestors suffered terribly from Columbus and Hitler, so even before I discovered I had some Native American ancestors, I was called to learn about Native cultures and felt great pain about what they went through. It is nice to know there are many similarities......
Binge watching all your videos, you are captivating!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and stories. Much love from Fort William First Nations❤
We are all born with a good heart. The world can try to deceive us but it is a choice we have to accept each other's differences and strive to keep a good heart and be grateful
Boozhoo James, Gindinawendimin!!! ....I follow you on IG too under a different name, and so look forward to your videos !! Each word is a story....and a gift! Miigwech! Mino-de'e is such a useful word to learn now in these turbulent times when many have forgotten how to stay in balance with each other and Mother 🌎.
Miigwech. Thank you so much for sharing your language and making these videos. I am interested in learning about the Ojibwe language and culture and am very grateful. What I find deeply moving is the meaning behind the words that reflects a deep connection to spirit, to a way of thinking, feeling, and being in the world. Thank you.
you know I have heard the idea of being in balance many times......but for some reason this time it really sunk in. I am in a unbalanced situation right now and this is exactly wat I needed to hear. Thank you!!
Migwech, I have listened and appreciate the time you put into keeping this language alive. When you open you say aho, what is the meaning of that word before hello. Please continue I feel better knowing someone is doing this. Migwech
Comparing the Navajo beauty way path to the Ojibwe path of the heart would be very interesting. Do the Ojibwe have a similar story to the Navajo first and second worlds (preexistence)?
