Honestly, it is going to be a bit of a combination of it all. I have a friend who has been designing and developing a shifter that we are going to try. I will still need to modify it a fair amount, but it *should* work.
Ive been biewing your process and find your project quite interesting. What i don't understand is why you put so much time learning about how the actuater works rather than focus on fabracting a manual shifter? Still, it was interesting. I'm zipping through the rest of the videos.
Really good question. The main purpose is to understand the engineering behind it, so I can add to my bank of knowledge. You never know when you might need that process theory or the mechanical idea. It could create another idea you wouldn't have otherwise had to problem solve a current issue!
@@TheIntensiveCarUnit confirmed they are all the same. Anyway, my gallardo actuator is leaking fluid. I need new seals on the upper part if i'm not mistaken. Do you repair them? I can send it to you if so. I am in NYC. (GTE Engineering does "rebuilds" on these but they want you to yank out the entire egear system out and send it to them.. pump, solenoids, accumulator and so on.. I'm not doing that, I can physically see the leak on mine. It's minor but it randomly gives me egear errors) Let me know if possible.
Is the plan to make a manual shifter yourself or use an existing shifter that works with the M139 transmission?

Great video. I wanted to ask you, are these actuators the same for the Ferrari 430/575 , Maserati and 04-08 Gallardo?
I believe that they are the same units. I haven't had them in my hands personally to verify.
