    It’s so baffling to me the way the media twisted these tapes to make Lyle look like a liar when he literally spends all of them talking about the people testifying against him being the liars. He talks in several calls about it not being for money. He didn’t know these calls were being recorded. There’s a reason they were never entered into evidence, because they meant nothing.
    If anything you may just find Lyle unlikeable or arrogant, but that doesn’t mean he’s a liar. I actually really enjoy his honesty and no bullshit attitude, and he’s pretty fucking funny. He cracks me up. In my opinion, he sounds pretty fed up and tired of his former friends stabbing him in the back and lying. He’s in prison and his former friends are lying about him on the stand - I probably wouldn’t be in a very cuddly mood either.
    Also, I love his rather prominent New Jersey accent. The media always plays up the “Beverley Hills family”, but they grew up in Jersey and Lyle and Erik are so Jersey in the way they speak.

    • @or91am
      @or91am หลายเดือนก่อน +31

      Yes! He literally said he was a product of what happened to him and the pain he's been through and that he didn't have to think about the answers because he was remembering and reliving those moments. People don't have to like his attitude, but those tapes were completely twisted.

      @@or91am Exactly. In the tape where he’s talking about testifying he says word for word, “I’m just gonna be myself.” Yes, he is being cognizant of how he will come off to a jury, but… of course he is?!?!? The entire prosecution is trying to get him to fry. When testifying you have to be cognizant of how you’re coming off. Everything he says in that specific tape indicates he’s telling the truth. Lyle behaved incredibly impressively in his composure on the stand, but his emotional moments were clearly real. There’s even a quote from his former best friend Donovan in which he describes Lyle getting emotional in front of him, and he’s quoted in Rob Rand’s book as saying, “you can’t fake that kind of emotion.”
      In the show where he’s bragging to Norma about the performance he gave, I’ve seen people justify that “it’s TV and they’re dramatizing it.” No, they blatantly misrepresented and mischaracterized Lyle. This is a real person who is very much still alive and that wasn’t dramatization - it was full on making shit up.
      To this day Lyle is still so misunderstood and it’s a shame because he is an incredibly fascinating person. I genuinely don’t know how anyone can really, attentively watch his direct examination and think he’s acting. If Lyle was such an evil mastermind, like people try to portray him, that he easily able to concoct such an elaborate performance in front of the jury (if he’s acting it’s the most incredible acting performance I have ever seen), then why was he such a disaster after the murders and made so many mistakes? His behaviour and mannerisms are so consistent throughout his entire testimony. It’s interesting because I was rewatching a bit of the Barbara Walters interview and I noticed one of Lyle’s ticks from the trial present in that interview - his tendency to shake or nod his head silently rather than verbalize an answer. It is SUCH a consistent part of his testimony - he does it /constantly/. Ticks like that are too nuanced to be faked.

    • @shannonoreilly4695
      @shannonoreilly4695 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aidafaupl4733 I think his lightheartedness is probably a coping mechanism. At this point he’s in court all day every day. I can’t remember how many days Lyle testified during the trial, but it’s a very small number compared to the entire 6 month trial. That involves sitting in court silently for hours and hours and hours. He’s not allowed to object when his former friends are on the stand lying about him and he’s not allowed to show emotion about it either. Him being a motor mouth in these phone calls makes complete sense when you contextualize that. It’s so easy to listen to a tape and make a singular judgment without contextualizing the whole situation and context is so important in this case. I think he was just excited to have someone to talk to and who was listening to him - Erik was notoriously a basket case while they were first in prison. Too bad Norma ended up fucking him over just like the rest of his friends.

      FYI - The plan, if caught, was Always to accuse both parents of severe mental abuse & This was the storyline that they came up with for Dr Oziel. When finally arrested, obviously Shapiro informed them they were up for the 1st degree murder of Two people. In jail together, a new plan was forming as something Had to have happened Very recently & it had to be Extremely compelling. Whatever they had told Shapiro, he now Had to go & his services were dispensed with. In came abuse-excuse expert, Leslie Abrasom. Due to Oziel's tape recordings of their First Version Confessions, there was absolutely Nothing else except an extreme Incest abuse storyline & she hired a particularly dodgy psychiatrist to go 'analyse' them in jail & now there had to be some sort of self defence scenario which was going to be a bit difficult, because no weapons were found with the bodies. Next plan as something Had to have happened to cause them both little 'boys' to fear for their lives in the days preceding the killings. So, the first story was that nearly 19 years of age 6 foot tall & Very fit Erik, had forced sex with his father 2 weeks prior & he had told Lyle about it who threatened the father not to do that again on the night of the 17th, Or he would tell Everybody & then, the father threatened to kill he & Erik. The story had to evolve because the mother was slaughtered also. So, next plot - the 'boys' found out that the mother knew about the incest that had been going on for years, because she'd told them that, on the 16th. Why the mother included in their murder plot? They told Dr Oziel a very long story about her being suicidal often & her great upset when finding out about Jose's affair & she wouldn't cope if he was gone & This is on Oziel's tape recording. And of course, much more. Then when in jail awaiting trial the Autopsy report was in & things changed Again as well as the fact that they now knew that the death penalty was on the table. And so the next juicy story, the mother was committing incest with Lyle & That's why he had got a shotgun too, one Mossad each, for each parent, who'd been plotting for 3 days to kill both sons & so, the imperfect self-defence case, was in place.
      They were never going to purchase hand guns, as they vehemently stated they tried to do as weapons to protect themselves. The plan was always the pump action shotguns, as if a mob hit upon their parents when the 'boys' were at the pictures. According to Lyle & Erik, knee-capping was MO for the mob & that's exactly what they did, to both parents. Then 4 more shotgun hits for their father plus one point-blank to the back of his Head. After 7 blasts, their mother was still alive when they ran out of cartridges & she was trying to crawl away. They had to go back to the car where Erik handed Lyle one more cartridge & he ran back to the den & point-blank shot his mother in the Face, via her right cheek.
      They then commenced to pick around all the blood & gore & the Sight of their once pushy parents, for the shell casings. They found every single one.
      They had bought cartridges with the guns on the Friday night from two & half hours away but then learnt that those cartridges were only birdshot. On Saturday they went to a local gun shop & bought Buckshot. Their parents' bodies from head to toe, full of lead from both. Got it Yet folks?
      They showed how Terrified they were of being killed by both parents for 3 nights & 3 days by still living in their house, still eating their food, still using their father's Gold American Express Card & on Saturday afternoon, they went deep sea fishing with them til late that night where they travelled With them in Their car. They were With them all of Sunday whilst going in & out of the house, til they killed them that night.
      Of course they knew about the Arnel Salvierra case of '86, where in '89 he was given 5 years probation only, because his lawyer argued abuse by the father who he shot 3 times when he was asleep. That abuse-excuse lawyer went on to be Erik's lawyer, Leslie Abrasom. Leslie gave them a book & they used several incest 'acts' from that within their testimony. Clearly she coached these mongrel brothers Very well for the 1st trial, 4 years of practice with all their feigned tears, the ole' head drop way down, face pulling, head thrown back often & long pauses before answering their lawyers Scripted questions. They didn't do so well when the time came for the Prosecutor's questions because they couldn't foresee how Those questions & rebuttals would be coming at them & so, None of the above fake behaviours any longer, not even when discussing the murders.
      FYI - I am nearly finished watching the cross-examination of dear Lyle, 10 Hours worth. I am still waiting for One friggin Tear. As for dear little Eric, exactly the Same, not even a Sniffle.
      Here's something for all dopes to Think about - during Any trial for Any crime, if the defendant is caught out telling One lie during their testimony, everything said is Not credible. Now, these lowlifes were caught out in Loads of lies, So, why the f do soo many of you believe Anything they said at all?? BTW - you all believed their performance for the 911 call yeah? Now, that alone should tell your non-firing brain cells Something about their Acting skills. Jeez.
      These mongrels sure as hell have made a whole Cult of weirdos into twisted simpy Suckers who the whole world now knows would murder Their parents for Whatever 'reason' too.
      Let's look at their sick heads & pretend all they made up was true so - According to the 'studies' & seeing as they Both told The most graphic details about a Great Many incest & paedophilia acts Plus the convos that they could recall from their umm Perfect memories & allegedly all occurring through To adulthood from aged about 6, it is more than Likely that Both will be the Same offending incestuous paedophiles. Together with all that, they are both The most sadistic shotgun toting parent killers ever to be Caught, in recent history. Maybe if released, they'll move next door to You & Your family & they can carry on fake crying you a river, every single day. Just saying. LMAO.
      One just has to take note of how Happy they were on the first hearing day in court, donning their latest brand new designer suits, heads held particularly high & their usual Arrogant smirks, to know exactly the type of Monsters they Truly ARE. It will always be astounding to us Normal people as to Why so many of you just believe their despicable Bullshit.
      BTW - I'm sure Chris Watts deserves a 'chance' too soo, let's say 5 years & he gets to walk amongst us again yeah? How many kids should he have with the next wife?
      N.B. Don't get rich because Your kids will be more than capable of making up the exact same despicable lies about You too.

Clearly she coached these mongrel brothers Very well for the 1st trial, with all their feigned tears, face pulling & long pauses before answering their Lawyers' questions. They had over 4 years before trial to practice their Performances. Their demeanor for the prosecutor's questions was Totally different, because they couldn't foresee what was coming next. After the hung jury announcement, Lyle was later recorded via jail phone with a female friend where he was Caught Out celebrating due to his fantastic Acting skills, as he Stated & Those recordings were made public. His lawyer barred him from testifying for the 2nd trial due to the cross examination by the prosecutor about that alone, which would have Showed them Both as Academy Award winning recipients & their lawyers sure as hell were Not going to let that happen. How is the internet still supporting these murderers is beyond me. It was so uncomfortable listening to those tapes. Lyle bragged about crying in the court to gain sympathy. He asked Norma for suggestions what all he could lie about to establish dr. ozile a liar. In the wake of all this, the judge even said that he would enter the evidence of abuse only and only if Lyle testifies, but he chose not to. He was already established himself as a liar and knew they'll shred his lie in cross examination. But the entire internet has developed some kind of amnesia or delusion.
