It should be a fairly straight-forward job to grind those ports fair, and fibreglass over.

Sounds like the easy option for sure 👌

I enjoyed your videos about choosing swallow... I'm sure we will love the videos if you decide to change again.

Hi Adrian, to be perfectly honest Swallow seems to be holding on to me. Think I will probably do some work and see if she feels any different but you never really know with me. I’ve never had the same boat for four seasons let alone three.
      Regards mike

Oh no what a shame. So you arrive when the summer departed. Hope you got some decent sailing ⛵️ weather anyway. Regards mike

@@sailingcosiloveit we had lovely weather apart from wind and rain on anchor in Beaumaris pool, bit grey coming through the Swellies for our 1st time together (John was naval reserve). We gave our thanks to you & Salty lass for great navigation videos in our channel playlist. Thanks again. Take care and God bless

Yeah that thruster hole would slow the boat down a fair bit I'd say, if you wanted to keep her fill the hole in. You don't really need a thruster although handy, you could live without it

I have never understood why anyone would want a bow thrusters on a sailing boat. Not having a bow thruster forces you to think and plan ahead, resulting in very little drama. Most of the drama I have seen in marinas and harbours occur with boats with bow thrusters. I think that inexperienced folks think a bow thruster will make it easier, wrong, it just makes you fail to think and plan ahead.

Hi Robin, agree in many ways but they do enable particular boats into a more difficult berth. That said I do agree with you in planning ahead is always the way with a sailing boat, from departure to arrival. I like to think I can think things though as well and mostly don’t use the thruster but I have at times. I’ve never fitted one to any of my past boats and would probably never would in the future. I’m always jealous of those boats that steer in reverse though because there are many that do their own thing ( totally uncontrollable). A good skipper is required here for sure.

Cod I love sailing too. It's gonna be 5 months before getting my boat back to water. Dunno how to stay sane that time. Maybe by gnawing some dried cod and imagining the sea breeze.

You and me both, Swallow is out for the winter, so many things I want to do with her. Lucky for me have plenty of boats around with friends still in the water so I will get out when the opportunity arises. Regards mike

Late June.....when Summer absolutely ended this year!
Interesting to see you go thru Swellies at Lpool -3....Ive always just plumbed for -2.

Your spot on it was the very last of this years summer. Must admit I did have the very best of it, So lucky.
If you don’t mind a bit of positive current-3hrs well helps with the tide on the other side. If you leave it to -2hrs you go straight into tide, not fun. Regards mike

pretty sure you could do a more aerodynamic deflector around the thruster holes ,piece of foam shape glass and stick it on ,looks like you got a bow drogue permanently fixed a ses anchor of massive proportion 😂😂😂 or maybe fix five 100hp outboard engines on her that would get her to potter along under sail

Hiya I agree, I think they definitely produce drag. Poorly fitted in the first place. Ideally should have cut away sections behind them. Weighing up options now 🤔
