Can you please make a comparison on Federer and Nick Kyrgios's play style because currently my play style has no shape. I mean it is very basic. It would help alot. Also do you have any tips on forehand lag? Anyways great playing. I love when coaches dont just get their job done, but also bond with their students. 👏

Great vid, Nick! This is great for many reasons: 1 ) I just respect YT coaches so much more when I know they are legit match players (who can mop the floor with me); 2) it's very relatable... your mic'ed dialogue is exactly the types of things I say in my own head, so it's nice to feel kinship with others who share the same pump ups, self-flagellation, and whatnot; and 3) this is genuinely good match play. Your serve is such a weapon... so hard for someone to break your serve and unless they can apply the same pressure on you, it's just statistics that will lead to your eventual win. Also, that forehand hammer! So many flat forehands landing within 3 feet of the baseline - that type of pressure is just so tough to repel. Big ups to Reed - really impressive what he'd done starting seriously at 16. Like a Jedi, that's typically too late to start training for serious competitive levels!

I'm at a point where I can keep up with and sometimes outhit my opponents, comfortably hold most service games, attack second serves etc. Knowing how to intelligently compete, when to conserve energy, when to push, when to pump myself up etc is probably a good goal for me next.

Calle U, I'm sure fitness is an issue generically (for all of us non-frequent match players), but my guess is what you're seeing is more about Nick's stiffer lateral movement, which I'm guessing has to do with his aforementioned chronic injuries rather than fitness. This is happening straight from the beginning of points so don't think it's fitness. Takes one to know one... that's def my issue... old injuries that have robbed me of mobility despite pretty good stroke mechanics.

Many thanks for this great video, it is the find of the month for me on youtube. Some great tips and analysis from yourself during the game, invaluable. The use of the microphone is the best part of the video, your observations are spot on and honest. I hope you are able to repeat the same format with more videos, otherwise, I will have to keep watching this masterpiece.
Please what software did you use to edit and subtitle the game? Kind regards.

One thing I have worked on for myself is negative terms in self-talk. I know it doesn't effect everyone, but hearing you say things like "that was so bad" really stood out, which means my acuity to it is working. I don't think you were using it as a negative, in the sense it was becoming a negative loop (Where saying "that was bad" rolls into "I am bad at tennis" and worse) because you always followed up with a correction. That kind of compartmentalizing of critical thought is exactly what I try to do. Just found it interesting to hear. Like this style of video to throw in with your instruction. Thanks.
