- Simple step by step guide showing how to wire a dash cam to the cars fusebox so that all cables are hidden and the camera goes on/off with the ignition.
No cut wires are damage to the car,fully plug and play so car can be returned to factory standard at a later date if needed.

Hi Just trying to hardwire a Dash cam myself and ive done absoloutly nothing with cars before so im a little hesitant. at around 7:30 you say to use an auxilary fuse (not anything important like airbags, abs, etc) but if Im correct, after looking at the fuse box diagrams for a Citroen C3, the 5Amp fuse your removing is for the "airbags and pretensioners" so I just want to ask if ive misunderstood something? Also I have a DS3 and I tried this on multiple fuse locations yesterday but the camera wasn't registering an input. I never actually started the car only turn the key so the electronics came on.
As mentioned in the video fuse box layouts can vary depending on build spec, region of sale, suppliers of components.
Many times I have worked on a row of brand new identical cars only to find one or two with different wiring layouts.
This is why I show how to test for a ignition switched fuse. Your aiming for a circuit that only comes on with the ignition, so something like the cars heater blower.

Great video but I'm also having the same issues. Even the C3 manual says this fuse in the video states it's for the airbags.
I have a DS3 THP (2012) and this 5A fuse shown is for the airbags and pretensioners. I'm struggling as it seems that Citroen leaves the accessory fuses live and then kills the power to the accessories via the BSI brain. I've yet to find one inside the car that I can use? Can anyone name a fuse I can pull? The fuses may differ model to model but the circuit would be a great start as I can narrow it down that way. The heater blower is under the bonnet so guess I'll have to go hunting that way.
The thing is, PJ has done many a DS3/C3 so curious as to how it's done as the fuse circuit isn't stated in the above video and car manuals state it's the airbags in both the DS3 and C3 (I haver a hard copy in front of me now).
@@gingerwilksie a big mistake I made was trying to connect the ground wire to a painted part of the car. Meaning it didn't ground properly.
@@aaroncox1278 I’ll double check the connection on mine. I’m using the same bolt as in the video but could definitely try somewhere else. You never know!
