    I just signed up yesterday!!! I'm a super host with AIRBNB and I can't wait to try this. I already have 900 points and I'm excited to try this out.
    Thanks for the very informative video.

    Great explanation! We just purchased a condo in Phuket, Thailand and are renovating it now. We want to travel during high season so letting others use it and earning guest points for us to use for our travels. Thanks for a great video!

    I`ll definitely want to try this. We are constructing a villa with 5 bedrooms in Uttrakhand (the City of Shiva). It is also adjacent to Mussoorie. Before shifting there, we would like to travel to see the world, so this kind of option, like home exchange, is needed to make us go. Options welcome

      I honestly wouldn't have been able to travel as much without it. Accommodations can get pricey!

    Is there a way to preview where the other hosts would like to go (prior to speaking with them) in order to narrow down the search/match process?

    • @TheCapsuleSuitcase
      @TheCapsuleSuitcase  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not to that level but you can sort by those wanting a reciprocal exchange vs an exchange for points. Exchange for points means you don't have to find someone who wants to go where you are on the same dates, just someone willing to host you.

    Thanks for video, but was wondering home exchange cost 220€ anual fee plus have to buy guestpoints plus meet always criteria of owners, is it still worth it? Please share your opinion on it.

    • @TheCapsuleSuitcase
      @TheCapsuleSuitcase  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's been worth it for me but I haven't had to buy guestpoints. Through hosting and referrals, I've always had enough to cover my trips, and broken down by nights used in a year, the annual fee has been much cheaper than any other accommodation. The challenge and frustration with HomeExchange is that you have to reach out to a lot of people before you can get the neighbourhood and dates that you want. I would only purchase the membership once you've secured and confirmed an exchange, so you know it's worth it. You can host and browse houses without a membership.

      That's depends where is your house located. If you live in a city that nobody is interested in visiting, I wouldnt recomend it because no one will be interested in exchanging with you. I live in NYC so for me the site is worth. So far I have been in Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Prague and will go to Chicago in April and to Toronto in August. I have saved thousands in hotel accommodations.

    HI How do you add a cleaning fee? Must it be in your listing? Just wondering since they don't allow $'s exchanged outside of the site? Newbie here and looking forward to learning! Thanks for the video!

    • @TheCapsuleSuitcase
      @TheCapsuleSuitcase  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What I've done and seen done is adding it to the listing with conditions, like "$60 paid before by Venmo before the Exchange". I've made the mistake of not requesting it be sent before the people arrived and they never sent it and there was nothing I could do.

      Hi! I believe you get all the points once your home is listed and dates are made open on your calendar.

    Great video but I can't even create an account on HomeExchange! Every time I try to sign in and create an account via my email it says "oops something went wrong". Any ideas? Thanks.

    Seems easier to rent out your home for cash and use that cash to go where you want to

    • @TheCapsuleSuitcase
      @TheCapsuleSuitcase  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are pros and cons to both, for sure. I also rent my home for cash to neighbours who have visiting friends and family. If you have a way to post your house to a wide audience, manage bookings, vet the renters, and have good insurance coverage, then doing it yourself without a service like HomeExchange is more traditionally lucrative.

    I do not recommend home exchange, they have a very deficient customer service that's not only not helpful but also very problematic. There is no guarantee if your home gets damaged. Not worth it at all.
