Thank you for all of this information. I really enjoyed my time with the first Heroes of Hammerwatch. After what Hammerwatch II turned out to be, I was a little concerned about this release. It sounds like Crackshell has returned to form here, and I'll be picking the game up for sure. It was that particular grind of the first game that really drew me in. Glad to see it returns here for the sequel. Now I just need to figure out how I can continue dating Path of Exile 2 on the side.
So I'm enjoying the video but I noticed something that I thought I'd mention just so you would be aware: I'm half through the review and I still don't know what the moment by moment gameplay is. What I mean is that it looks like it might be Diablo style play but I'm not sure. I apologize if you mentioned it and I just missed it but I don't really know what I'll be doing when I'm not upgrading my town. If I'm right about this my suggestion is to start the video with a brief summary that includes the different aspects of play. Again apologies if you already did this and I'm just dense and missed it or didn't understand.
Nice review! I'm thinking of buying the game, but I hesitated when I saw that their Steam page says you can only use "XBox Controllers" to play the game. I only have a PS5 controller. Will that be an issue?
with the steam imput I think it would work great, I play a lot of xbox controllers games with my ps4 controller and it goes well, only that in game Y would be triangle, B circle, etc. And you can use ds4 (an app that let you use ps4/ps5 controllers as an xbox ones) if you have issues
For some reason for me it feels like "Roguelite Hammerwatch 3" instead of "Heroes of Hammerwatch 2". Hard to explain. I wish it was just improved HoH with maybe some Hammerwatch stuff in it instead of the other way around (which it feels like rn)
My gripe with heroes of hammerwatch 2 is the pixel art style change on the characters compared to the previous entries. It feels more like a downgrade than an upgrade
I've appreciated your pre-release coverage! Great thoughts
Thanks! I tried to cover as much as I could before release.
super helpful vid as someone whos deciding which one to get. Do you plan on doing another video for the full release that came out today?
Thanks, what kind of content are you looking for?

The gameplay is a top-down ARPG rogue-lite. There's gameplay about 9+ minutes in as Aidalee and I talk about the game.

I use a mouse and keyboard so unfortunately I can't help there.

to refute a little bit, a sequel doesnt necessarily have to inherit THAT much from the previous title
Thanks for the info. Is there a couch co op?
No, it’s online co-op.

I miss just the plain old Hammerwatch. Nice and simple.
i know graphic isn't everything but this kinda hurts my eyes though.....at least make it like Shadow Tactics for example....
