    I have discovered the virtues of owning my Kindle Paperwhite 2021. I can download up to 8GB of books, I do not have to carry 4 books at a time, I can read more quickly, I can check out books from Kindle Unlimited and, best of all, it is lightweight and portable! The Kindle is my lifesaver, just as the transistor AM radio was back in the late 1950's. Well done video, Olivia!

      The 8GB Kindle can hold about 3,000 books 📚📚📚🧐🤔
      I use a 2016 Kindle Oasis 1, which has a little over 3GBs of internal storage. I have a little over 1,250 books in it and it still has room to spare hahah.

    Never thought I'd like an ereader... I've got quite a big paper book collection. Decided to buy a kindle paperwhite with a Black friday deal. I love it, honestly for reading comfort it's my favourite way of reading now. I like the brightness set very low and warmth high.

      I think you can do both tbh! I am mostly an ereader for certain reasons but I still buy paper books here and there

      That's what 80% of people who hated e-reader and "loved the smell of paper" say when they actually try an e-reader. ;)

    If you tap the page number area you can change it to time left in the chapter if that helps!

    My hobbies are reading and video games as well. I'll always pick my kindle over my gaming consoles though even if I'm in a reading slump. I love being able to read a good story.

    And you didn't mention the convenience of the light. I recently had to switch back to a classic book - I had to because it was a comic book, which is one of the things e-reader are still - and will always be I'm afraid - behind, and I found soooooo hard to read them in bad, with uneven lighting coming from my bed-side lamp, or because I had to turn it off because my wife was sleeping... nah, with an e-reader is so much easier... same when you're reading.. don't know, at the bus stop, in an airplane that's dimmed-out for the night, etc etc

    I remember I bought my first Paperwhite without a cover, and what was my super smart solution? I kept the plastic bag that it comes inside of lol. Whenever I finished my reading session I put it back in the baggie and stored it in a very safe location; 3 months later and I got a cover, best investment ever.

    I have a colleague at work whom I convinced on getting a Paperwhite 4, but she did not get the protective cover! I sometimes stay awake at night thinking her Kindle is unprotected and exposed to the elements. It took me forever to find a cover for my Kindle Oasis 1 - they really did not make many of them. The one faux leather cover I found makes him look FAT. However, it also feels like armor for a little soldier 💪🏽📖💪🏽

      Only oasis 1 needs a cover. I threw away the protective cover for my paperwhite 5 after only 1 hour of trying it out because it made my kindle so fking heavy to hold

    • @olivia-olsen

      How can it make it heavy?? It's like a plastic cover?? It's the same for your phone

    • @feb12th
      @feb12th ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The protective cover itself is heavier than the kindle. It makes the kindle more than twice as heavy. It weighs almost as much as my 11-inch ipad pro. For an e-reader, that's too heavy to hold with one hand

      The Paperwhite 5 is a big boy, that's why. The weight is something like 200+ grams without the cover. I'd hold it with two hands, with or without a cover.
      I use smaller devices to read e-books. My Oasis 1 is around 75 grams less in weight. This is the one I use for e-books since the Kindle 4 is already full (it does NOT hold 1,400 books, as estimated). The Kindle 4 is about 175 grams. These two are almost pocket-sized without the covers, but still manageable with one hand with protective covers.
      I use larger e-readers for manga: Nook GlowLight Plus, Kobo Sage, and Kindle Oasis 3. I hold these with both hands.
