    Thanks Linda! My genius husband had the wonderful idea one year and asked me to make the cowboy candy more like a relish to use on burgers and dogs. A couple of spins in the food processor, and we have never looked back! Delicious!!! And versatile! We've used it in deviled eggs, potato salad, he would mix some in with his scrambled eggs!

      Did you put it in the food processor before you cooked it?

      Yes. I chop in the food processor just as I would would as if making sweet or dill relish, before canning. Yum. Good luck.

    Hubby and I went to Portland for the weekend! We drove from Canada, took the I-5 all the way. We had an amazing time. Drove part of the Oregon Coast back. It was absolutely gorgeous!! We stopped at Cannon Beach and Seaside. We’re planning/hoping to drive further down the Oregon Coast next year 😍

    I made this for the first time this year. Haven’t tried them yet. One of my jars of “broth” didn’t seal (using up ‘old’ lids), dropped it down my counter, on my floor, and all over my foot and jeans! 🤦‍♀️ I’ll never use those lids again! 🤬
    I used Rachel’s recipe, at that 1870’s Homestead, small chunks instead of slices/rings.

    I am planning to do make a batch of this in the the next couple of days. Last year I used some sugar rush peach peppers In this recipe. I took them to a BBQ that had a sub sandwich bar, they were a hit.

    Can you mix Jalapeños and Serrano peppers to make CC ? Since Serrano;s are much more heat, I would say to remove the seeds of these peppers?

  • @tjmiller4269
    @tjmiller4269 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I make this once or twice a year i don't slice them i use a vidalia chop wizard with the smallest insert can fit more in a jar and it goes faster but to be honest i do a case of jalapenos at once hence the chopper i can't even imagine slicing that much...lol If you have never made this most recipes out there call for 3 pounds and i can tell you thats not enough trust me.
