Bastion was a game that I first pirated, then went out of my way to buy, because it was so good. This song, honestly is something that is just pure nostalgia, carrying Zulf instead of letting him die.
i bought it on my switch then i pirated it on my laptop so i could play it on both platforms at the same time. Ive finished it a total of 4 times and im thinking of playing it again
same, but it's because I'm from a 3rd world country. Steam didn't have region pricing yet so any game for a poor college kid like me costed a fortune. Pretty sure I bought full price when shit adjusted.
I get chills within the two seconds of this tracks. Bastion is, I think, one of the first games, where I felt any real emotion towards what was happening on the screen, and there is no doubt in my mind that Darren Korb's absolutely fantastic OST is the reason I came to appreciate games with good music and good story.

I will never forget finishing this game, feeling that emptiness that comes after the end of an amazing story, and then this song just BLASTED into the credits. It was spectacular.
Bastion has the same place in my heart as first DS. Its ending just destroys you. It is the bittersweet feeling of FINISHED games. You always want more, but it is time to move on.
I didn’t beat Bastion, but I interpreted the lyrics “I’m comin home, sweet home” as referring to the past, before the calamity, like this comment says. They take on special significance for me at a time in my life when I feel I have no joy in adulthood, and most of my really happy memories are from childhood. The lyrics “we’ll be there before to long” refer to the future though, meaning time will pass quickly enough, and we’ll hopefully arrive at a better future.

I like the ending of this game. How if you don’t choose to continue instead of turning back time you’re just back where you started and everyone made the same mistakes that led to the calamity essentially stating that there’s no way to change the flow of time and all we can do is push forward.

So a few years ago I was on my way to the airport, returning home from my exchange. I was messaging goodbyes to my new friends. Right then, this song shuffled from my playlist. I broke down pretty bad.
Because it's the Supergiant Games' YT channel, i can say it. I bought the game because this music. I listened it so many time, that one day I bought the game on PC. And it was an amazing experience. So the next game was Transistor. And I don't regret it. And my next game on Switch will be Hades. Thank you. For real.
I remember buying this game on launch day, playing it relentlessly for days. Reaching the end and hearing this song was almost a religious experience. To this day, Bastion was, without a doubt, the best game to come out of Xbox’s Summer of Arcade.
Still one of my favorite video games of all time. Everything in this game was incredible. There are only two issues. 1. I cannot re-experience it again, and 2. I wish it had lasted longer.

I used to play this song a lot in Osu! and instantly fell in love with this song. Later, I found out that the song and the character is from a game called Bastion and about a year later I played the game. Just now I finished it, and when this song came on in the ending, I was about to cry because this song meant so much to me even before the game.
I plan on getting this game soon, one of the reasons being its great music. I can still feel quite a bit of the emotion in this song without having a scene to take reference from, and that's admirable.

Additionally you can check out traditional turkish music with bağlama to find similar songs, though gaye's song is more modern. (im turkish)
Overall Hades is probably the best game from Supergiant so far (better than many other AAA titles for me) but Bastion will always be a special game to me, the way the story and atmosphere just sucked you in and left an impression that few media can replicate
8 years ago i played this on my psvita. I played trough it two times in two days because i got a bad ending i think. The emotions i get from this are unmatched. Who would have thought that when i started this game up to kill my Boredom in the holidays.

Pyre isn't for everyone but I would highly recommend it. It has a story just as strong as Hades, and the general combat system is really neat.
