The culture in that first gym looks like my idea of hell. Imagine your coach is a top level no gi grappler but he’s roid-raging so hard he talks crap whilst punch choking a local dad of 3. Lots of ASBO energy in that room 👌

The 1st guy is not a safe training partner. Bragging about how "hardcore" he is on top of that is even worse.

Seems like that entire camp was looking to hurt each other. No tap respect, smashing subs, no ease. Pretty gnarly.

Not sure how much you’re learning if one day a week your head coach (who is about 18 levels of quality above you) gogoplatas you within an inch of your life.

Sad to see indeed. I hope no white belt beginner gets hurt from this spazfest.

This trend that Gordon started of bragging about juicing is quite a poor example IMO. Excited for the card either way

He's not rly bragging more like just being open about it which is respectable just like how Craig is. Craig said it best when he talked about how it's basically them first of all not being fake and instead being honest and also just making sure ppl who do it in the future and (and they will) will do it safely cos there is a safer way to do it than what all these bodybuilders do

@@chrisdudedurian1305 I appreciate that viewpoint, however, sadly there simply isn't a safe way to take superficial levels of testosterone at this point. There are several, severe health outcomes that are all but an inevitability long term and sometimes even with short term use.
Plus, they make your balls tiny. FYI I used to compete in bodybuilding, been around it all and wouldn't recommend it in a million years.

@@marlonscloud Nono I 100 percent agree with U. I'd never recommend steroids and I think ppl are universally aware that they're harmful and in any situation is best to not take it. However I appreciate Gordon and Craig being open about it because it's better than them lying and having the younger generating think they're physique is achievable naturally etc which is taking advantage of them just like the liver king. Also unfortunately ppl will continue to use steroids and the new generation in grappling will as well so as much as it's not ideal the best way to deal with it is to mitigate and make sure they're not abusing it and doing it in as safe amounts as possible which is why being open about it is so essential. Most PEDs in the sport and used for recovery purposes too to allow fighters to maintain they're extremely taxing schedule of fighting all the time and training everyday in bjj U can look at the Mighty Mouse and Kade Routolo podcast cos they address this and how difficult it is to maintain a pro bjj schedule cos of the constant fights all the time way more than MMA or boxing etc.

According to statistics, the first two to post an OP in the comments section of a submission grappling video are newbies to the sport -- either as practitioners or fans -- and end up regretting expressing their trivial and asinine thoughts upon deep reflection.

It's the Conor McGregor-isation of combat sports. Ie. You have to act as loud and as obnoxious as possible, swear every other word, brag about how much PEDs/Money you are on, and have dopey haircuts and shitty tattoos. BJJ is rife with it.
