Are you sure that at 02:04 he wants to enter the false reap off of the failed k? I think he wanted to enter the shotgun armbar because he even has a small series at Atos where he explains the chain from k guard to this armbar. But now I´m thinking about combining both the false reap and the armbar after the k
It all kinda depends on how well you can clear that inside knee. If Levi leaves the knee in between the legs, it will block the armbar, but make the false reap available. If Levi was on two knees, the armbar would be available if he was reaching for a collar tie or an underhook.
Good stuff man. Props to Levi for playing top and expanding his game, he’s growing. He could have double guard sat and had a better chance to win IMO. Pato is an elite example of combining outside and inside entries currently.
I agree about Levi, he took the match by the balls and went straight into mateusz’ A game. Mateus has really min-maxed the leg locks, he’s amazing at it but it can be frustrating watching someone that either footlocks or doesn’t do anything
Great work! Would love to see a video (even a short one) explaining the Mateusz footlock in a prior Polaris that destroyed Jed Hue’s foot in a split second. Still haven’t seen anything firm on what happened
Jed’s toes and knuckle line got stuck under mateusz lats muscle frontally as he was going for a rotational break and the foot got crushed - in fact the injury didn’t happen at the ankle or the knee but at the cubital bone of the foot
Recently just learned about kiss of the dragon and the matrix so this video is timely. Questions for clarification: 1) Would we say that Berimbolo and matrix are types of external entries and kiss of the dragon is a good example of an internal entry from a false reap position ? 2) are we saying the false reap is the guard position or is the false reap the actual spin move? 3) are there other examples of internal entries?
1) Yes you are spot on 2) I would say false reap is the actual guard position not the spin move. The way I worded it in the video is kinda confusing. 3) Yeah, I would say entries where you are trying to get under their center of gravity would be internal entries. So just your classic butterfly guard entry into irimi ashi (SLX) would be considered an internal entry
No actual data as far as "high percentage" meaning how often you get it vs attempted, but these are the finishes we have recorded. Not a huge sample size of guillotines but arm in seems to be by far the most High Elbow: 6 Arm In: 13 Hindulotine: 2

Thank you!
Amazing analysis
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful!
You know who’s amazing at the external/internal entries is Jett Thompson
For sure. I need to go through that PGF event and add those matches to the database

You might be correct. I went to his camp and he showed this armbar with the elbow control. looks like levi moved his arm in time..
Loved this video!
Thank you! 🙌🏼
Wasn't Mateusz trying an armbar at 2:08 and not false reap?

Clash of titans. They had not enought time to show us they're full potential.
Yeah we needed another 10 minutes!
Great video.
Thank you! 🙌🏼

Mateusz did a breakdown video and posted it on his instagram just after the match.
I enjoyed the video. What submeta course is that clip of Lachlan doing the RDLR back take from? Thank you.
It’s in his “berimbolo from top” course
@@LIMIBJJ Thanks!
Great video bra
Thanks bruh 🙌🏼

@@LIMIBJJ thank you that really clears it up!
Was it a fair decision? I don't recall the jist of the match.
Watching after levi beating tye
battle of the bendy men
Do you have data on most high percentage guillotines ?
It has to be high elbow guillotine

High Elbow: 6
Arm In: 13
Hindulotine: 2
@@LIMIBJJ Yeah i imagine by look that would be arm in, if you know, why high elbow instead of low elbow guillotine ?
