@@Irish780 No it wasn't. His first full international cap was against Australia in 1999. However, against France in 2000 he well and truly announced himself on the world stage. I'm privileged to have been at the game.

At 5:13 the #14 you thought was looking the wrong way was actually looking at the Irish wing (#14) who was outside O'Driscoll. It's a common situation in rugby; you have the ball carrier to your left, for instance, and a supporting runner to your right; if you go for the ball carrier he/she will pass to their outside player; if you stay on the wing the ball carrier can cut inside you.
The thing is it all looks so easy for him, that's the point
The 'pass to himself' at 7:00 was legal because he passed it over the head of a team-mate; you cannot do it over the head of an opponent. On the other hand anyone can 'chip kick' the ball over an opponent's head (if you have the skills required).
In my opinion Brian O'Driscoll is the greatest Rugby player of all time, he is the complete package and he was the best Captain in Ireland's history. He played for Leinster, Ireland and the British and Irish Lions. O'Driscoll is Irish. A lot of Irish surnames have O in front. It means Of the Driscoll clan or O'Donoghue Of the Donoghue clan. It goes back to ancient times as is Mac in Gaelic means Son of. Gaelic is spoken in Ireland and Scotland, with slight variations between the two.
One thing that doesn’t show up on the highlight reel is how intelligent O’Driscoll was in defence. Had the physicality but also the brains. Wish he could have played in one of those post 2016 Ireland teams
