It was innovation to include the speak-singing into a pop/rock record in the mid 60s, this type of singing was not present in this type of music until Absolutely Free by The Mothers
Actually it's the Soft Sell Conclusion at the end of Call Any Vegatable that quotes Stravinsky's A Soldier's Tale. Not Status Back Baby. The instrumental part of Status Back Baby does quote Stravinsky at the end but it's a section of The Rite Of Spring, I believe.
