You are 100% spot on. The build quality is unreal, the fit and finish is impossible to fault (on ours and the demo cars I’ve seen and driven) and yes the refinement of ride and comfort is better than cars 3 times the price I’ve driven.
Best value car I’ve ever seen, which is why we bought one.

Can't agree enough. I must appreciate that the attention to detail summarized alphabetically in your review is indeed commendable. Simply perfect!
BYD has recently launched in Pakistan too and it's anticipated to take the lead by margin.

Great video. BYD was running a promotion here in Australia. I got my 2023 Atto 3 Extended Range for AUD$46,700 drive-away. I actually got it on novated lease as it's cheaper than paying cash. I'm pretty happy with it so far. The build quality seems pretty good as far as I can see. I'm in my late 60's so the Atto 3's ride and comfort are ideal for me. The BYD voice control is great especially if you're the type of person who has difficulty finding stuff on the menu.

Atto 3 Aus community just keeps growing and growing since we pick ours up in December 2022. Also it's ota updates just getting better and better. My only concerns is that we can't turn on the radio to watch drive-in movies without front led lights on. If it can be turned off then it wouldve been way better than the competitors. I also hope sentry mode comes on on the next update

Just got our Atto 3, my wife immediately discovered a reason to use vertical orientation for centre screen. She found it less distracting while driving probably because it's further away in your peripheral vision and also it doesn't tickle your eyes to wander further left. We are a bit annoyed that you can't duplicate the instrument cluster on it though after we let our kids have a drive.

Really nice review mate, got 12k on mine so far, easily best car I’ve ever owned build quality fantastic and still not a rattle to be found even after subjecting it to crappy Australian regional roads, quiet, smooth and comfortable to drive long distances, 13 kWh per 100 km average around town 16 kWh per hundred on the highway all weather so 350 km easily achievable. Will charge at 88kw when you can find one that works. I’ve got a tow bar and roof racks fitted so surfboards and small boats no problem and brilliant VTL great for topping up my electric mountain bike battery 👍😁

Great video again! It is interesting to see all these Chinese manufacturers coming in, I really hope their price structure will have some positive effect on legacy manufacturers’ pricing. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and so on EVs are way unaffordable nowadays.
Also, why does not an MB offer reverse charging, programmable charging and so on. Features that are available in much cheaper brands. I really hope these cars will engage competition in pricing and features! I am still shocked how little features my car gives me for more than double the price compared to this BYD…

I drove the Atto 3 and while most of what you say I agree with, there were a few things about it that were decal breakers for me. The torque steering. The bing-bong and bong-bing indicator sound. Drove me round the bend. But it can be changed as you pointed out. The lack of engagement from the steering left me feeling absolutely nothing after I heads driven it. But the biggest issue was totally unacceptable wind noise from about 70 mph. It was ridiculous! Check out the CarWow review - Matt Watson agrees. However I have also driven the Dolphin and it was awesome. It is also much better looking. I agree with all the other positives you mention. For me the Dolphin wins. The Atto 3 just isn’t quite there for me.

This Chinese ownership thing is a massive subject and not easy to unpick and one far beyond this car forum! It would be naive to just consider the impact of the CCP in world political and economics without also acknowledging that the world already runs on Chinese goods. We need to consider how we can work in partnerships rather than just see enemies. The impact of BYD and other huge battery manufacturers such as CATL which are products of world investment and not just Chinese state tools is immense. BYD particularly exists in part from the investment of Warren Buffet. In the future if you buy a Tesla, you are probably going to buy a BYD blade battery! Sorry. Rant over.

Drove this car recently and rapidly became aware of how absurd these ridiculously expensive grownups toys are and how dull our future is to become. Not just this byd but also other brands. Also these EVs are going to exacerbate the huge abyss between the have and have nots . It's a bleak future despite the novelty of these fanciful indulgences. I believe the world needs a growth in its economy to function but alas it doesn't need more cars. Make our children walk to school, live closer to schools , walk , take the bus and perhaps the train if you've an adequate rail service but cars of any current business model, ice or electric don't make sense for a sustainable future. I'm glad in a way that I am able to rise above the novelty of driving electric and looking to the horizon in a practical sense. Atto 3 is spectacular regardless of my scepticism of this concept having a future. Credit where credit is due but shelve the pursuit of these vehicles and buy a decent set of footwear and a bus ticket for our future generations.
