I’m so happy you included the russian version! The actor is wonderufl! he plays in a lot of russian productions (for example Herbert from Tanz der Vampire, the count in the Count of Monte-Christo and he will play Ryuk in the future production of Death Note)
In the video, Korean actor Kim Jun Soo(XIA) is a singer and a musical actor. Korean In the role of "Death" in the musical "Elizabeth", following the 2013 premiere performance in Angkor in 2013, Kim Jun-su, who will appear for the third time this year, is the character of "Death" intended by the original writer with a presence that overwhelms the stage Received the acclaim that he expressed the most perfection, the audience received the evaluation that he met " The best role in his life" with the nickname of "XIA(Sha)Todd '', and captured both the critics and the audience, the leading actor in the 18th Korean Musical Awards Awarded the best actor.
I have a downloaded copy of the 2007 Takarazuka version, if you'd want it. (I still think it's the best version of der Tod that I have ever seen. She's incredibly menacing.)
The man looks like he’s performing a rock concert, meanwhile Máté and Mark look like they’re competing each other to see who can manhandle Sisi the most 😆
I also love Polish version by Jakub Wocial. He also sang it in German, but I can't find it anywhere. Sadly, Elisabeth was never played in Poland, but luckily we have Jakub, so sometimes songs from that masterpiece can be heard during concerts. Here you can listen to Polish version of the song th-cam.com/video/vCokSZZj4cw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you very much for the link (that you apparently shared a year ago, lol)! Polish is so beautiful, soft and tender, my favorite among the Slavic languages.
Why is there so little material of Stanley Burleson’s Death (Dutch) He is such a wonderful actor, and my favourite Death (I am Dutch, so possibly biased. Look up the Dutch version to see him and Pia Douwes together, they also have amazing chemistry similar to Pia and Uwe 🥰🥰
I will always have Szabo first in my heart as the most beautiful and talented Death. 🖤 although... His voice sounded a little off here, like it was the wrong recording
I like Szilveszter's and Máté's version the most and the others are good too however... Junsu... don't misunderstood me, I don't hate him or anything but as I see it he is the weakest Korean Death... he is the least masculine of the three and sadly he always sounds like his voice is seriously damaged...
That's just the way his voice sounds, it has always sounded like that, although I do think he tries to add more grit for the role. He is definitly not the weakest Korean Death (of everyone who has had the role up until now), but then again he's not originally trained as a musical actor.
@@ronjag97 okay, I'll be more accurate. I heard 3 of the Korean Deaths: Junsu, Se7en and Jeon Don Suk (maybe I misspelled his name). Of THIS 3 in MY OPINION Junsu is the weakest but of course you can argue with that. About his voice... I know that you're right, he always sounded and sounds like that however it doesn't mean that it's good. I read about him that his change in voice was long and slow process. If the voice is strained during this time it can cause serious, permanent damages. I think that's what happend and that's what I hear... of course a lot of people like his voice and that's not a problem. But I learn to sing and even if I don't know the whole anatomy of singing, I think his voice is unhealthy, although I must admit that his technic is not bad at all, most of the time he nicely opens the notes. The singing method and the voice is not the same thing.
@@gergelymathe8224 I see what you mean. In terms of technique he'd probably be somewhere between se7en and Jeon Dong Suk. His technique is good, but he often tries to make it sound more dramatic in musicals, and I think that's what makes it not sound quite right. Other than that his voice has matured over the years, I don't hear much change listening to songs where he isn't also acting. What do you mean with singing method and voice not being the same in this instance? I don't quite understand why you say his voice is unhealthy?
@@gergelymathe8224 Truth be told, after listening to live recordings, I think Se7en's voice is actually weaker than Junsu. He lacks resonance live. I think Dong Suk is a fantastic Tod, and it certainly helps that his voice was classically trained. For another great Korean Tod, I would recommend Park Hyo Shin, whose singing is very reminiscent of the soul genre. He actually reminds me of Stanley Burleson's portrayal.
The transition between Junsu (Korean) and Mate (German 2005)’s adlibs is DAMN AMAZING. I legit thought that it’s Junsu who was carrying on the ad-lib… Ranking: 1. Hungary 1996 (FIGHT ME, but holy fuck he sounds so flawless, raw voice, yet so evil. He legit beats everyone out there) 2. German 2012 (because Mark fucking Seibert. I CO NIC. When is he ever going to make his Broadway debut?) 3. German 1992 (no one can’t beat the original) =4. German 2005 (I have put him a bit lower but now I see why, Mate’s acting skills are flawless) =4. Hungary 2004 (we stan Szabo in this household, but he’s very meh to me. I really didn’t like how ultra masculine he was. Though the makeup was good). =4. Korean (I hate to say this, despite Junsu being such a talented vocalist, I don’t like the pop flavour they decided to give him (left alone he was in a vocal like group), but yet Koreans are dramatic, so I can see his point of view. I do like his version of DSWL, it shows some slight intensity. And yet, although I didn’t like German’s current designs of Death, and especially Germany 2005 🤮, the design of Korean’s Death looks so bad ass- modern but yet I can imagine Death wearing that).
I’m so happy you included the russian version! The actor is wonderufl! he plays in a lot of russian productions (for example Herbert from Tanz der Vampire, the count in the Count of Monte-Christo and he will play Ryuk in the future production of Death Note)
His name Kirill Gordeev
the Hungarian Deaths are SO different compared to the others, im obsessed :DD
Máté, Uwe, Szilveszter & Kirill are my personal favourites for der Tod!
Szilveszter will probably be my favorite, but Mark is really good. I’m glad they added in Kirill though.
@@laguna4life Yeah, recently noticed his version of Wenn Ich Tanzen Will is very good too!
Mark Seibert (Germany 2012) is still my favourite death

Elisabeth is to Germany what Phantom of the Opera is to London and Broadway!
its austrian 😭
@@partygirl0101 thank you
It's not from Germany 😭😭😭
@@partygirl0101 Well, the show's in German.
@@TheJFish94 yes, but it hurts as an Austrian to read that something austrian is German, if it isn't 😅

Szabó P. Szilveszter ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I'm so happy you included Stanley!! Between him, Uwe & Mate we have the perfect Tod
My faves are definetly Uwe, Maté, Mark and Kirill
The 2012 Wien and Antwerp were the best, but the Russian and Hungarian 2004 sound fantastic too.
Uwe kröger will forever be my favourite death. But i like the twist they give him in the Korean version
Mate is my favorite tod forever💗
hungarian sounds very charming:)
Кирилл тут😍!! Надеюсь у нас поставят этот мюзикл когда-нибудь🖤

Most of them are official and internal pro-shots. They used to be pretty easy to get some years ago.
