Reminder to all other Versys-X riders: If you ever drop your bike, the bike won't start again until you turn it off and turn it on again. Make sure you remember this so that you don't get scared that the bike doesn't start.
Dropped my KLX 300 in the mud this year also, not a big fan of riding in that crap honestly. Nice to not have to pick up a heavier machine when off roading. 😮 The Versys seems like a nice machine overall.
Yeah those stock tires on the versys x are completely incompatible with mud. I mean 100% not-even-a-little functional on the slightest bit of mud. Avoid mud like the plague on those, or go really really slow ready to catch the bike because it WILL slip.
Happens to all of us at some point or another, part of the adventure. I know I dropped my GS at least four times while riding the MABDR last year. Pick it up, wipe off the mud and keep on keepin' on! 👊🍺
Looks like you did well. I’ve dumped mine um, well more than once. The skid place and engine guards were money well spent. If you are in mud much I recommend changing tires to TKC-80s.
First time down is always the hardest on the nerves. Looks like that rear brake lever may have been holding you back a little when trying to get out of the muddy area. And the way that mud was caked on the tire, it's no wonder you went down. Glad you were able to get back up again. Hopefully, you were able to bend that brake lever back into place and kept on enjoying the day.
I have the same bike and the stock tires are horrible in mud. It should perform a lot better with nicer off road oriented tires. Glad you and the bike are okay.
I'm a new rider but dont you have to pull the clutch in and then click your shifter down until your in first. Looks like your rear brake lever is bent out. At least your ok.
the clutch just disengages the transmission from the engine so that you don't damage the trans when things are spinning. When it's off, theres no power to worry about messing things up. you can shift all day long without the engine on without damaging anything whatsoever :P

I have the 2022 X300 as well. Goes anywhere. Stock tires don't like the mud!
