Did you think about or know the best way to add tilt steering to a 1st gen? I think the 91 or 92 second gen steering column might work. What are your thoughts? Id like to have TS on my 88 lol

That would be a sweet modification and greatly improve the seating position. I’ve never heard of it being done before.

I just purchased a 1988 Isuzu trooper and love it! I’m trying to change and take off the green rubber on the dashboard headlights. I’m having trouble taking off the RPM and speedometer gauge. Looks like the headlight switch is in the way. Do you have to take that’s off before you can pop off the cover to change the bulbs?

The headlight switch can be unscrewed from where it mounts into the dash area and drops down. You should see a slot in the headlight switch circle metal plate…I used a flat head to unscrew it. The cluster can be carefully slid out to allow access to the bulbs.
The green rubber was stuck to the bulbs, so I simply replaced the bulbs while I was in there.

Nice work! Where did you order the carpet from?

Maybe there had been an anti-theft bar on the steering wheel that someone couldn't get off so they cut the wheel. lol

That’s ingenious and probably the reason why. Totally makes sense.

The steering wheel was probably cut to remove a Club anti-theft device. Either because the vehicle was stolen or the owner lost the key

Someone else mentioned that theory as well and it totally makes sense.

Where did you source the steering wheel from?

My good friend eBay. Always find great stuff on there still.

If you remove one, it’s usually printed on the bulb somewhere. They are a pretty easy to source bulb if I remover correctly. Let me see if I have one of the old ones kicking around.

I have trouble finding a wire diagram for the isuzu trooper 1988 where do I find it? There is no spark and the injector isn't working

Should be able to track one down online. What else doesn’t have power? Has there been any major rewiring or rodent issues?

Permanent marker would have told you where the steering wheel would have went
