Has some good storm down in the south east. Has about 3-4 hours of Lightning and an hour or 2 of which was continuous. Also had some large hail. Around 0.5-1 cm hail and lots of loud thunder and torrential rain. Best storm I’ve had in a bout 4 years

I was driving back from Driffield earlier today and saw a beautiful backlit funnel cloud with a smooth cone shape going down before vanishing into the deep grey clouds. Amazing experience
We had a thunderstorm yesterday in Bletchley. I missed it because I was in Milton Keynes on a train. They sky was black. It hailed though and it looked like it had snowed.

Much smaller and short lived. We don’t get the extreme differences across the land like the US. However at times the UK can produce energetic tornadoes 🌪.

Apparently the UK get more tornados than USA. But why do they seem rarer to find than in USA?
