    A bit far to go, just to introduce a kit build... ;) Now, I agree with you, I really like the way that Tamiya has solved the issue with the many road wheels, the track and the suspension, in my mind a brilliant solution that will save the builder a lot of hassle. Having seen your footage, I want to go and see the Churchill War Rooms for myself, maybe I'll go in the autumn.Haven't got the Churchill tank but I have a few other Tamiya armour kits in 1/47, including a Sherman Firefly and a JagdPanther, which I plan to include in some sort of diorama.. at some point!! Not sure when.... Now, to sum it all up, you did yet again a beautiful job of the model you decided to build, I like the subtle weathering and the finished result is stunning. And finally, thanks for the mentioning, it was a great day out and I still think about the things we discussed and the things we saw at the IWP. Now I'm off to go shopping.. needs must! :) A man has to eat..

    • @qdc748a
      @qdc748a  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Churchill War Rooms are a must to see, especially since you're so close to it. It is amazing to see the actual place where he led your country to victory! I felt transported back in time. It's a labyrinth of rooms and passageways of various stations and meeting rooms. It's pure history and I felt fortunate enough to visit your treasure. You must visit the Churchill War Rooms, you wont be disappointed. I still remember our great time at the Imperial War Museum! Take care my friend. :)

In my humble opinion it is crucial that you show the details of this tough, sometimes a little bit tedious and time-consuming process that has to be done in order to build such a masterpiece. Well for me I was in the military for a long time, during my tour of duty it was very rare to see any military vehicles in any type of shape other then clean and sharp! Most company commanders would not allow it to happen. But, this is the modern military I am talking about, from 1977 to now, the World wars were a different story. @@qdc748a

    Brill work Col, I have the Tamiya 1/35th scale Churchill and I still to this day think it's one of the best , for your money kit you can get as it has a mini little diorama ready in the box with the French man and little wooden cart he is towing handing over a bottle of wine to the tank crew it's great. I'm hoping to do a build for the Warts and all Group Build of a famous picture of a Churchill with some of the Stafford's , my local unit that is no more taking cover on One of the beeches during the landings on D Day !!!. I'm really gutted seeing get to meet when you were over. Thanks Tony. No, I didn't go to the Bovington Tank Museum. It's a 2-1/2 hour train ride to get there from London so I didn't have the time. I will go there one of these days. :)

      @@qdc748a I meant the hobby shop by the RAF Museum in Colindale. If you go , get ready to spend money , but is worth it. Last time I went , between, decals, resin , paints and books $600 left my pocket. NO styrene ! I only went to RAF and Royal Navy museum in Yeolviton .

      I mix my own paints. Mixing colors is such an old idea, not a lot of modelers do it today. Yellow and black are the primary colors I used to make this color. There are no exact mixing ratios because each company who makes colors use a different chemical to make their color. Here is a website that will introduce you to color mixing. I hope this will help th-cam.com/video/_BHHf1-dmco/w-d-xo.html
