    They are always going to cost a small mortgage to keep going, but it's the memories that they keep giving us

    I think it’s worth converting any van . There is nothing that can’t be fixed and nothing that can’t be learnt . So I say just do and build what ever you like it’s yours and just be proud of it . People get hung up about miles who cares like honestly things can be replaced changed and upgraded .

    Great video guys. Good to see that Darren has made use of his stag do Morph suit by repurposing it as a makeshift wet suit....we especially appreciated the clever accessorisation of Bermuda shorts to cover any unsightly contours. Glad you're keeping the van, she's a beaut!

      Thank you for your kind words regarding my 16 year old Morph outfit, Yorkshiremen never throw anything away. Unfortunately the gusset is a little threadbare these days so I did the hot combo with the designer label (Temu) Bermudas. Looking forward to the rest of your Scotland trip and I pinky promise not to laugh if you hurt your leg again, I kinda miss that limp. Lots of love Daz ❤️

      @@campervancodgers124 😂 thanks Daz. How’s the drone? Haven’t seen you fly it much, what’s that all about? Let me know if you need any tips on flying it, I’ve been watching TH-cam videos on it so….basically Top Gun.
      The leg is fine thank you. I got a compression suit that’s tight around the legs but very relaxed in more intimate areas off of EBay that looks just like the suit in your….oh wait!

      @@Stchristopherofatlantis Big Dickie drone hasn't seen the light of day for the last couple of trips due to some contributing factors, namely, wind, rain and alcohol. I struggle to fly it sober so no way I'm trying to do it after a couple of pints. Saw you got some good footage of Berwick with your entry level drone, the Top Gun training is paying off. Thanks for falling for the nearly new description of my pants on Ebay. Just go careful with the threadbare gusset, one long stride, a little rip, and Dora will think it's dinner time 😋

    Interesting video on the repairs. I guess it’s somewhat luck with buying secondhand commercial vehicles. We got a 2014 Sprinter but paid £7k for it with 257k miles right at the price peak during covid. I noticed the water pump leaking the day before it went for its first mot with us and got that changed while the mot was done. Thats it for emergency repairs. Done some upgrade work on suspension, gear selection, oil changes (engine, gearbox, dif, power steering etc) and fingers crossed all been pretty good. Like you, I couldn’t imagine getting rid of it now be like ditching one of the family 🤣👍

    • @campervancodgers124
      @campervancodgers124  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We tend to get the stuff done on advisories from the MOT, and to be fair like we said we could have paid 10k and still had these issues as it was all wear and tear things, (once diagnosed correctly) Thanks for watching, happy travelling ❤️

    I think that it sounds like you have done a lot of the engine repairs that could be expected , just keep up with regular oil and filter changes , and an engine flush every couple of years or so , use the correct coolant and NEVER use water and keep up with general maintenance , get her regularly serviced ( the van not the wife ) , I've had my Iveco Daily for 6 years now , regularly on the continent visiting friends in Holland Germany Italy and Romania and I do all the servicing myself....the only time she let me down was the handbrake failing half way up an Austrian mountain in winter , WOW , that tarmac was cold to sit on , but , a couple hours of swearing and hammer work and I was on my way again , Happy Travels you 3

    • @campervancodgers124
      @campervancodgers124  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's been mainly wear and tear repairs the problem we had with the limp mode was diagnosing it, once our car mechanic took on the challenge (his premises is too small really for a LWB Sprinter) we was sorted and he's the one who convinced us that everything is fixable, and to keep her. Thanks for watching and your feedback on your experiences ❤️

  • @johnshaw4140
    @johnshaw4140 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    To be fair , egr on a diesel is a swine to get out , but can be cleaned by specialists so doesn't necessariily nee to be replaced and 300 000 miles on a turbo is pretty good going , brakes ie discs and pads are regular maintenance , as is egr valve , turbo and mass air flow meter with 300 000 on the clock is understandable....you have to bear in mind that you didn't buy a low mileage van for 15,000 pounds , you bought a fairly cheap van with 280 000 miles on it already

    • @campervancodgers124
      @campervancodgers124  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is exactly the risk we took and yes she's done OK. And like we said we don't regret it, the things that have gone wrong are things we expected to replace at somepoint 👍
