    Guys can you specify total clicks from bottomed out on rebound settings? You didnt mention where you started. Same for HS comp on the shock. Just said backed it out 1/4 turn. Dont know where you started! Thanks guys! Love the content

    Stock bar bend on these bikes is really good.

    Thanks for the video guys.
    Very helpful for a track like that.
    It would be nice if there was race spec video for a faster track with big jumps, because the set up for that kind of riding would be completely different.

      Like I said in the video, maybe add a click of rebound and stiffen compression a click or two... this is a very good base setting. You'll always have to adjust for sand, mud, tracks with big jumps, etc, etc...

    Ping, can you do a race spec for the 250X? 195lbs rider east coast hare scrambles and moto.

    Unless they made a big change i think the 2 strokes only have 1 handlebar mounting hole. So you can only turn the clamps forwards or backwards. So only 2 positions

    Are you sure you only went 1/4 turn on high speed? You went under soft on fork/shock comp but heavy on high speed?

      I came to comments for this reason as well. I think they adjusted it a 1/4 turn further from original position but they should have mentioned total turns out. 1/4 out from bottomed out woukd have the opposite effect imho

    I noticed forks slid flush with caps. Did it come that way or did you move them ?

    Just got a 24 yz250 can’t wait to get out. Thanks for the video and information. What gearing would you recommend for a deep flowing sand track

      I think the MX and X model both come with 14/50, which is very fast gearing. I think I would start there, should give you lots of speed and good power in sand. I went 13/50 for off-road, did tight harescrambles Sunday, being old, slow, and around 220, I need 13/50. Son may try 14/52 off-road but still at 13/50. Apex heads really wake these ups (we run XC insert), but MX or SX on a track, some like small flywheel weight, son got gytr, I got a cheap 11ounce. We run 40:1 yamalube 2R and pump 93. Old school tough bikes.

      Depends on your speed... stock is good if youre quick. For novice-speed riders you could add a tooth

      @@OGLD Yamalube 2R and 110 race gas, mixed 32:1 . Have never fouled a plug, engine stays clean inside, no carbon buildup ❤

    • @jpconard
      @jpconard 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OGLD I would, manual even says 30:1, which I thought odd as normally it is 32:1. When they come from dealer they put in part tank of 15:1 for break in. But it is also about the oil. So some of the Amsoils or synthetic you could probably go 50:1. Yamalube 2R don’t think is synthetic but works good at 40:1 on the 250, probably 32:1 on the 125. Depends how hard/where you run them too. Sand running hard is much worse than old guy like me putting in trails, but occasionally open it up. Just what you are comfortable with.

    I disagree with the grip statement, Yamaha yz stock grips are fantastic! Last a long time but don’t beat up your hands and when you look really closely at them they are very well designed. They’re kind of a perfect fit for the average consumer. Lock ons kind of suck in the fact they wear out quickly, plus beat up my hands. Just my opinion.
