I always love to see the Trocks performances, and this was yet another great one, with so much energy and verve.....but whilst applauding them I think huge congratulations should go to the choreographer who orchestrated all of this...an awful lot of hard work all round, but a fantastic result . Um, these guys are better ballerinas than I am... I've always loved the Trocks, but they've reached a new peak - their technique is now as amazing as their humor! Love love love.

gthank you so much for posting htis -- the wonderful thing about it is how faithful it is in spirit to the real Concerto Barocco -- the parody is hilarious, but the dancing is fun and graciuos and they are being so sweetly courtloy to each other amidst all these ludicrous geometries.... I like it that there aren't too many jokes, and that the ones that are there are funny, especially like the "Rube Goldberg machine" bit. (Though things that aren't "funny' made me howl.)
Let's be clear here - it's not just a parody of classical ballet - it's a parody of Balanchine - especially Concerto Barocco (most obviously), but with a A LOT of Serenade thrown in.
it's a parodized classical ballet. I know the choreographer, Peter Anastos...he is brilliant. I was priviledged to be a cast (small role) in his Sleeping Beauty last Spring.

This is not a "real parody", because, even when it's funny how they look dressed as ballerinas, actually they are really good dancers...

Althought they are male dancers, their techniques are as good as real female dancers!
it's still parody, or at least humorous, because they deliberately do stuff to be silly.
