    Markus I am so glad I found your channel. I'm now 82 years old and your videos have helped me so much. I've watched so many of them and I just have enjoyed them so much. Today I was able to go out on my public golf course and play alone and just practice, what a joy. Over my years of playing, I have never been able to hit from the inside. I've always faded the ball; I could never draw the ball. After watching your videos, I was able to hit some of my best drives with a slight draw to them. Not every time but when it worked it was so sweet. Thank you for your guidance.

    Scottie just won the Players again . Too Funny . Just watching this and you mentioned Scottie Winning . I agree a bent left arm is fine and does not affect power or accuracy . I let it bend just like you .
    It's more natural for me , then having it straight .

    Marcus for decades off and on I have fought with an inability to finish the downswing. It is a feeling that I am hitting at the ball instead of through the ball. Nothing I tried has ever really fixed that. I have always been aware of it and I know it is a problem but have not been able to permanently correct it. In another of your videos you stated that the trail hand must overtake the lead hand. That one sentence has fixed my problem. I know that will never be an issue again. With your statement in my head I now can't stop my downswing until it is completed. Thank you so much.

    You are so right about "keep what works". Of course you need to define for yourself "how many times does it work" and "is it working MOST of the time". Because that is of course depending upon your abilities and is very relative.

    Marcus, I'm impressed with your breakdowns and explanations of the various pieces of a golf swing, done in a non technical, sensible approach. My takeaways from your advice is that physically we're all different, and you stress that often when you say to keep trying different shots, positions, etc. One has to find what works for them. I'm 67 and used to carry a 6 handicap, but completely stopped playing for 7 years when my wife passed. Just this year have I begun playing again, and being honest with scoring, I'm a 20.4 handicap. I've diligently tried to assimilate all available info in tinkering with my swing, closed stance, parallel, single plane and not just hitting a bucket of balls trying them out. The open stance just feels best, and feel is what the game is all about, which is why I appreciate your input. Excellent sir.

      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Michael. There are some rules we need to follow if we want to hit a specific golf shot but how we manage to do it is personal. Let me know if you are missing something so we can get better together. 👍

      Your open stance has proven to be excellent for me. I've gone all Ping in new equipment, G430 MAX in driver thru 9 wood, I230 irons, all with Fujikura Vista Pro graphite shafts. I do notice that finding the bottom of my swing path changes a bit with the open stance, more back of center, with slight variations depending on length of club for ball position at address. The draw comes so easily now. Working on getting the wrist hinge back and through at contact ( trail hand over lead hand ) and when done properly it's an effortless impact and the ball just flies off the face. It's a very nice thing to see such a crisp strike going higher and longer than I was used to. To have such results almost immediately let's me know this is working as advertised. Just need those reps to make it happen more regularly.@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad

    I have subscribed for several years to a swing method of tension free relaxed hands and arms as well as a soft bend in the lead arm. The Easiest Swing method (Brian Sparks) has given me new life for an aging body. Your lessons on in / out swing and a push rather than pull is a great addition to the method I use. I am looking for more distance without doing damage to my 75 year old joints.👍🇨🇦👨‍🦳

    I recently learned that the bone structure of a shoulder socket, and other joints for that matter, can be drastically different between different people. Which has a drastic impact of what movements we can and cannot do. Teaching everyone the same moves in golf is a big mistake in my opinion. Your recommendations are spot on - find something that works for your body structure and don’t try to change it just because someone else does it differently.

    Your comment in an earlier video, where you talked about relaxing the arms in the backswing (esp. lead arm/bending it), lead to the most astounding epiphany I´ve had on the ptactice range for a long, long time. Just for fun, I bent the arms going back, getting my hands more over my right shoulder, and eureka; the swing speed went up, ball flight was better, and it felt really naturally and correct! Now I know that with a straight lead arm (which did not feel too strained to me), I have tried to pull my upper body around with my arm in the backswing, the result beeing bad upper body rotation in the bs with my lead arm pinned to my chest to early. With relaxed arms I have to turn my upper body with the arms to get up! It also feel like I get better control and more time to do what I am supposed to do in transition, because there are less strain therefore less urgency to hit at the ball from the top.

    Hello Marcus, you are doing a great job of explaining what works for you and I have tried your swing and it works great for me but in golf there is no one shoe fits all, for example, I have taken lessons from different instructors with varying swing techniques like Ben Doyle, Sean Foley, and David Leadbetter, all of them are fine instructors but teach different techniques and all have very accomplished golfers who they have trained, for me, your technique is working the best, and your explanations and demonstrations are very easy to understand, thank you.

    Marcus, is weight evenly distributed between lead and trail leg, or is it more in the trail side? I am referring to setup weight. Since the engine is mainly from the arms and hands, it feels better for weight to be predominantly in trail. Is this what you feel, in your setup?

    One question about the wrists at the takeaway part. Is it a sideways motion of the wrists (flexion,extension scooping motion) before the wrists hinge straight up and the trail arm bends?

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jari. It depends a little on the grip you are using. Look at the club and find the no twist take away and from that you will find the motion your hands need to do.

    • @jarihissa7255
      @jarihissa7255 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GolfwithMarcusEdblad My lead hand is on the neutral/weak side so it seems it has to bow like throwing a frisbee and trail arm moves straight back like throwing a rock. I figured for me this has to happen at the start of the swing to keep the clubface stable and without rolling. If i dont do this action before the trail arm bends, its always a rolling motion and because of that i was spraying the ball everywhere and even hitting shanks.
      I also have more clubhead speed doing it this way and thats a bonus and only downswing thought is to extend the trail arm, no manipulation of the forearms or anything else needed on the way to impact
