    The Pontiac GTO, the G8 and the Chevy SS...Three cars that deserved far better than what they ended up getting. IMHO, every one of them should have been a bigger success.

    I sold these new in SF bay area back in 2015/2016. These cars were so underappreciated. I had a '95 Caprice LT1 9C1 cop car in High School so I knew what this car could do and it's potential . One day I snuck out of work and took one for a LONG test drive to San Francisco and HOLY SHIT was it fun. The one we had had Brembo brakes and the magnetic suspension.

      They're amazing aren't they! They series 2 with the 6.2, and the HSV models with the 6.2 Supercharged engine are even better! But, I've just got the base model with the 3.0 V6 and even that can be fun believe it or not

    For all you haters saying "Oh it's an ugly car gm made a mistake blah blah" shut up it's called a sleeper for a reason. Meaning it will sure as hell will smoke your riced out civic. I love this car! Great job chevy. Hell this car comes fully loaded stock the only two choices are either a spare tire or sunroof. All that for 45k I'll take it! Vs your talking a bucket load of extra money if you wanted a fully loaded BMW

    Gentlemen, this is the car that won (Blitzed) the 2014 Daytona Race. This is the car that is winning in the Australian V8 Supercar Series competing directly against Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo. This is the car which was declared by Autocar Magazine as the best performance sedan in the World. The car was designed in Australia, tested in Germany and in fact the SSV Redline Ute (pick up) version holds a World record for the fastest lap of Nurburgring Germany, and is the best handling Pick Up available. The style of the vehicle is for sophisticated purchaser from many countries around the World, its design cues are European / Australian. It is not really to please low lifes sitting in a diner in Hills Billyville. "So go ahead, straight to your Chevvy Dealer and test drive a real car - careful you might just buy it. Holden / Chevrolet...DRIVE ON !! "

      The v8 supercar series uses a car that is BASED on this car but virtually none of the car is the same. None of the engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension, suspension pick-ups, body or chassis is the same.

      That’s what a sleeper is.
      Looks like it just came off the Enterprise lot but it blew by your Mustang GT and now you have an uphill battle to try and catch it.
      Actually most GM sedans are like that just not to this degree. Usually good for embarrassing Civic Si drivers or invoking the ire of State Troopers somewhere between baggage claim and hotel check in.

    WRONG! This car is actually a VF Commodore FULLY designed at Holden's Melbourne design studio, not Germany. Everything in and on that car was designed in Australia apart from the LS engine which was tweaked in Australia.

    • @Caelinb62
      @Caelinb62 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The suspension was tuned on the nurburgring, they didn't say it was designed in Germany.

    • @tripsadelica
      @tripsadelica 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Caelinb62 Go to to 5.02 section where the narrator clearly says, "Designed in Germany..." This car was designed at Holden's Design Studio in Melbourne Australia. It was tested in Germany and in the US, Scandinavia (cold testing) and, of course, Australia. Holden spent one billion dollars designing this car. They did a great job. I own one and I love it.

    To all you haters. Your ignorance is blinding. 90% of the reviews from all forms of media have been pretty positive. Sure no car is perfect. They will work the few minor bugs out by the second model year. This car is for the hardcore V8 American powered guys that want and can afford this upscale performance sedan. Not the tea sipping mazdatoyodakiahyundai pedestrians. It's priced a little high but you get soo much car and Holden stuff isn't cheap. It's a flagship RWD V8 sedan. Oh my bum hurts while I'm driving it.. well so does the new srt8 chryslers. This car is built better and time will tell but to all the minions the proof is in the proverbial pudding n'est-ce pas? This car has more expensive materials is more expensive to build. Only 4K units a year. Corvette, Camaro powered. Can you say someone is already developing a SC for it. Looks best in black. Isn't a huge head turner but a nice smooth lined sedan with a bit of subtle muscularity. I like the sleeper look.I'd love to have a 7 speed manual but no car comes with everything you want or desire. The car is a triple to close to home run for GM. Bravo. GM will have no trouble selling all 4k units a year. This is the street version of NASCARS Chevrolet SS. Which dominated this year and won 6 manufacturers titles amongst a plether of other awards. Lets see the Ford Fusion with a V8 and RWD or the other family car camry??? What an f'ing joke. At least Dodge is supposed to be back this year gain with their charger. RWD V8. If their street car version doesn't have those 2 features its all BS. Win on Sunday and buy your FWD 6 banger camry/fusion on Monday. WHOHOO what a blast to drive. ( roll eyes) The ones that bitch about this car can't afford a sub compact kia and aren't performance junkies like myself and millions out there. Sux eh?
    Peace Love and freedom of speech. NO HATE!
