I was genuinely scared for you on this one. It fascinates me that you don’t seem to “preload” or “pop” off anything, and yet you’re still very consistent. This track seemed like it needed “pop” due to lack of trail speed on some features, so I was holding my breath! Nice work
Exactly, thats why he left the wall ride so wide.He even squashed the takeoff on that gap jump. The "lack" of speed had me on the edge of my seat. But it all worked out in the end so maybe his riding just appears less active on camera. I prescribe more pump track sessions..... Great content 👍
@@bestdayevermtb2 no where near it Lance. Just shows that we could all do with a bit of coaching. So before spending a chunk of cash on a new bit I don’t really need- I will be getting a fee hours with a coach.
Jeez blimmin well done, think I was holding my breath for you especially watching that last full run thinking you weren’t going fast enough to make that last gap…..can breath now lol ..heart was racing just watching that, your a legend, I take my hat off to you for tackling it
Fair play matey, watched a few of your vids, progress and passing your limits is the only way to get better and conquer your fears. You just proved that. Also riding with better riders and people to push you further
@@bestdayevermtb2 all in the same boat, I'm in my early 40's and trying to learn more skills now to make it safer for when i get abit older. Wish I'd of had all these jumps and bike parks when i was a nipper
Congrats on the achievement! Is no easy feat that! Always been happy to got flat out over rough stuff and down steep terrain but wooden features and big gaps always get the better of me! Maybe one day I’ll get the courage and skill to hit this line! Is the one thing I miss from living Auckland is woodhill one of the best bike parks around
@@bestdayevermtb2 I have the same thing with Rock candy. I'll watch videos of it and think about how scary it isn't, and then when I ride it i'm always a bit nervous
Well done Lance, that was huge alright. Pat on the back for Ben as well for the coaching 👍👍 that berm looked scary from where I was sitting 😳. Awesome effort.
Full run at the end… 😮 You are crazy! Just so you know, you don’t need to do this to keep me as a subscriber. This didn't help at all with my high blood pressure... Congrats anyway you crazy man. 👍
Done a lot of double blacks in northland and southland but this was one was always one of scariest ones and didn't even have all the features it currently has.
One of the things, well maybe two of the things I like about watching your videos is your honesty and the fact that if am watching that means you got to edit the vid, which means you didn't seriously injure yourself. 😅
Nicely done. Now that you have done it you are not sure what the issue was with them. How long before you lead the Captain in there. Your height on the wall was just below Bens
Well done Lance can my heart stop beating fast now after you have done it . I’m sure it feel fantastic after you have done it but I don’t think you will ever see me doing it. I need to learn how to do the drops on hell good yet I’m still doing the chicken one lol . Or don’t know how to do a gap jump. Were is the dads army boys I guess you drawn the short straw
Thanks Jeremy. To be honest AV8A is probably harder but for some reason this track freaks me out. It didn't help that none of the other guy's seemed keen.
@punawarrior9070 could of taken you for a ride but unable to ride tomorrow. Bike hire in Auckland on Waitangi day is 440 or Woodhill. Riverhead is a huge forest but you really need a guide and it will be WET. Totara Park has tracks but rather boring. If you leave Auckland you could go to Whangamata, Te miro or Pirongia but no bike hire. Maybe sit in the pub?

The only thing that I needed more speed on was the drop. I am good at things that require little skill just commitment.

@sijmes I have always prescribed to the just enough speed to get me over is enough.😁
So much respect for you going back and committing to the full run. Well done bro absolutely mad
Thanks for that. Must admit took awhile to pluck up the courage and haven't been back yet.
Dude those features were pretty wild. Not very wide making them sketchy as. Great work clearing the trail!
Are you going to build some at your place?
@@bestdayevermtb2 not gonna lie those features looked fun, I would definitely need to build them a bit wider though.
yay ben!
Well done. Nice catching up with you in the carpark today. More harsh but fair comments coming for you on the next video.
Was great seeing you to. I can handle a bit of harsh but fair.
Wow, hats off to you Lance!
Awesome! That's a big line...Nail biting stuff!!! 😎

Thanks. Glad to get through that one ok.
Mate good stuff - my collarbone says no 😂
The King of Woodhill! Well done young man. 👏
Not sure anyone will give me that title. Could I wear a crown?
Maybe an ermine cloak 😁
That was sick !!!!
Awesome video! And very well done on doing full barrel run

Brilliant video well done 👏
Awesome super duper trooper, great effort and sick results

Amazing riding. You got balls of steel!

nice to see ben on his dads bike (true story), great riding from both of you!
His bike was out of action but didn't seem to matter

Probably one of the first riders i've ever seen that actually know how to ride their Pivot.
Not even his bike. Belongs to his dad.
Well done mate!!
Nice. Don't think I could ever do these things but admire your effort.

Great video. Everything on this track looks intimidating. Epic achievement to do the whole track, I'm inspired 👍
Glad you liked the video. It is very intimidating but like many things not as hard as it looks once done.
Nice work Lance. Pretty impressive

Skill is an interesting thing. As doing jumps and riding tech trails both require skill but some riders are better at one than the other.
Wow, that’s great achievement, but beyond my level, pretty scary even to watch 😮😊😊😊
It is all about the coaching.😁
Noooooooooo. Oh boy now I’m gonna have to do it. Next I think you good for the new river gaps down in Rotorua
NOOOOOOO I do not. I may be crazy but I am not stupid. Never doing those jumps.
B e a utiful! Great stuff guys
Nice work Lance. Man those are some serious features. Great job to Ben also. Cheers.
I had wanted to do this with Ben for some time. He is a great rider but also a polite well-spoken young man. He will do very well in the future.
Nicely done mate, coaching obviously works!
It certainly did. Ben didn't need to explain things in detail but just show me the speed. Much better than working it out for myself.
@@bestdayevermtb2 and safer matey!! Good riding!

Likewise. I really enjoy Woodhill as lots of people to chat to. Spend more time talking than riding but love it.

That wall ride is very intimidating. You can't practice it or build up to it. You have to do it correct on your first attempt.
Great achievement for you, well done Lance !
Just something on my bucket list.
Well done mate great achievement. It’s winter in the UK so it will be quite risky doing north shore like that 😀
Has been super wet in Auckland so had to wait for a dry day. Not doing that wall wet😁
