      Thanks Martin. I think start small and progress slowly. The funny thing is I have done bigger jumps when younger but the fear is greater now.

    Bloody beautiful. I find that watching videos where there is speed over gnarly stuff,my speed increases and fear factor drops on my next ride,I think you just helped me along a bit.

    Hey Lance, really enjoy your videos. After seeing a few, I realise you live in an architecturally designed house. Not quite Rodger Walker, but kinda that cool late 70s early 80s NZ funky house. The sort with random ladders to lofts in the ceiling space of an A frame! Ride on man!

    • @bestdayevermtb2
      @bestdayevermtb2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool house until you want to stain the cedar weather boards. Lots of hard to access crazy triangles. That is before you want to paint the roof.

      Someone needs to be the voice of reason. Having said that I could do with a Graham to motivate me to push limits of jumping a bit more. Let’s see how much progression I can make when summer arrives in the northern hemisphere.

      I know the feeling. Jumping is funny. Slow seems safe but coming short is never good. Speed can be your friend but if you come short at speed the buck is even worse.

    Great work and good progression. Those jumps look decent and great that they progress in size. One little tip? I noticed in some of the jumps you Cased, you were compressing into the jump instead of popping off the lip. Try popping and pulling up off the lip to increase height and you may start clearing more gaps!!! Keep it up lance 👌

    • @bestdayevermtb2
      @bestdayevermtb2  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are 100% correct. I know I need to do that but am clearly not. I worry on high speed jumps that I will pull up uneven and land sketchy

  • @partyongarth0
    @partyongarth0 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you look at the slow mo of that awkward one you got, if you follow the path of that front wheel you can see that you inadvertently squashed it. Maybe it’s because you were nervous so a bit of a passenger but if you can just get some compression into the take off and time your pop a bit better you’d be a lot cleaner over that.

    • @bestdayevermtb2
      @bestdayevermtb2  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to do that when I am nervous. If the jump goes well I tend to get better with each additional attempt. I know my technique is far from perfect.

      The jumps were easier. Just a matter of committing. Glencoe was pretty hard. Would love to go again and try in the dry preferably when it wasn't frozen cold. I think riding with others also helps your confidence. I was in Glencoe on my own on a rental so felt a bit more nervous.
