  • Putting the Kubota BX2380 pulling power to the test in this video. See how this Hobby tractor shouldn't be over looked when it comes to getting stuff done and how this tractor has a place with farm equipment. Anyone homesteading must consider this little tractor when deciding what size tractor do I need. The Kubota BX series has a place on everyone's homestead or acreage but enjoy the funny skits and the comedy I add to this tractor review.

    Sub compact tractors are far mightier than most people give them credit for. I’ve got a Bx23s and I’ve pushed it many times past what I probably should have and no breaks, no regrets. Nice video 👍

    My husband has the bx23s and it definitely does the job, but there’s been a couple things that need to be done where I wish we had bigger 1 but personally don’t want to be tractor poor! I swear people are ridiculous about the tractors and in my humble opinion if someone else ain’t buying it for me they can keep their mouths closed! We like our orange little tractor!

    With a draw-bar I can haul 18in thick logs that are 16-20ft long with no problems, & I'm on turf tires (guaranteed on ground that's 2% or less slope). Sometimes smaller is better, I have an awful neighbor who made noise complaints against my BX to the Sheriff but we're allowed to mow our lawns with a 4x4 lawnmower.

    It has done a lot of work through the years.
    With that small tractor I do a lot of work that my 40 hp Massy would do better.
    Many times because the big tractor will not fit in tight spaces.
    You may have to peck around the edges, when moving earth, instead of running down the center.

    Don't you hate when people tell you what size tractor you should get? I have an acre and a half and I use my BX23S like if it was the king of the hill. When there is an item that is too big for it, then I use science to achieve the task. Like using snatch blocks to haul something that needs lots of power. My recovery training in the army comes in handy during these times!!! LOL
    The one piece of advice that I would give you should you want to listen , having seen shit during those said recoveries, is when you do a straight pull, shorten your line in case it snaps. Also when you tow line is too long, you actually lose power as it will stretch and steal pulling power. There is a matheical formula but since 1987, I kinda lost some data!!!! LOL

    • @SunnySlopeHomestead
      @SunnySlopeHomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s a pain but mostly folks don’t understand someone needs and only want to help. On the advice I’m open to any experience you have as sharing is the a great tool to learn. If folks are to proud to take advice then it’s gonna be a hard life for them lol
      The reason for the long strap was I had barb wire hidden in the under growth and it was sloppy muddy in the area so I went to dry ground. I bet if I had wise pulleys it would have gone smoother lol ... awesome comment 👍👍👍

    • @danyf3116
      @danyf3116 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SunnySlopeHomestead That's where snatch blocks are important. Lot more ratio can be attained that way (Read mechanical advantage). Then it makes our little tractors feel more like David against Goliath. Also the most ignorant question I ever got was, "What will you do with a tractor?" If I have to explain, obviously you'll never understand unless you own one yourself. Sheesh some people.
