I think you should remember Kinn is a mafia boss. It's not supposed to be a light and fluffy show because the characters are morally corrupt.
Let's be honest, the only one in this show who truly gives mafia vibes is Vegas, all the other characters are way too fluffy and cute

A lack of SA doesn’t mean fluffy. And a character who WOULD SA someone isn’t cute. There are two extremes on both ends and a large middle ground that y’all seem to be missing 😬

Do you place the same value judgements on murder scenes or are you picking and choosing which things to be upset about?

@@dorkistan6344 Actually the only ones that give Mafia vibes all the time are Mr. Korn and Kim. Kinn has moments when he shows that hard and violent side. And really we only see Kinn get light and fluffy around Porsche. He becomes very portective of Porsche which indicates he really doesn't want Porsche in this lifestyle. Vegas doesn't give mafia vibes he gives off pysiopath. He was willing to grape Porsche in order to get under Kinn's skin because he knows Kinn likes Porsche. That's not mafia shit. That's just sick and twisted shit. Especially when you take into account he's doing this to his first cousin.

Oh! I think the easiest to deal with Porchay and Kim is to remember Porchay thinks he’s in a fanfiction / teen romance genre while Kim is in the mafia genre 🤣
lmaoooo there's multiple posts on tumblr about the genre whiplash between the couples lol. my favourite has kp as "kinn and porsche are in a fucked up mafia au strangers to boss and bodyguard to frenemies who fuck to lovers wattpad fic" and kim and porchay as "kim is playing sherlock holmes with his own family, and while all that’s happening porchay thinks he’s the protagonist of the hit disney channel original movie starstruck"
It's not an alternate universe where gay is the norm. It's our universe. It's true that in BL most or all of the charcters are gay, but there isn't any realistic explanation for that. You just accept it and that's it.
Thailand is also supper queer lol. I watched a show headed by a dark skined trans women from thailand.
It’s cool to see your reactions to elements of thai BL that probably confused me as well in the past but that I’ve gotten so used to now. Like the mix of very different tones (silly comedic scenes immediately after something very dark and dramatic) or the over-the-top acting. Also, general rule: If a scene feels particularly out of place or meaningsless or the camera lingers on something and you can’t figure out why, it’s probably a product placement. Like the cheese in this episode. How are you so bad at spotting these? 🤣
Yes it's fascinating when I hear them talk about concepts or aspects that I have normalized already when watching a bl series. my first bl was Tharntype and consent was a foreign concept in that series 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I will say this, KinnPorsche is notorious for being really dark, all the characters are really bad people (not all of them, but you get the point), BL doesn't go there usually, most BLs are more cute, so when you guys said at the beginning of all this that people were surprise that you chose this one to start your BL journey, it's because this one can be a lot if you don't know the basics of Thai BL and Thai queer culture, This BL represented a shift in BL to more dark and adult themes. Also there's a lot that can be said about the dubious consent trope in BL, this is more of a old school japanese BL thing, but sometimes it leaks to other BLs from all over Asia, BL it's fascinating to me because it's like another world of tropes and ideas about queerness.
OOoh yes, yaoi is has a lot of examples of romanticizing SA... even slavery :'D Not to mention it can be so majorly catered to straight. The uke seme thing... my god.
I do think Thailand has some examples that hardly come from Japan but seem to be a general backward view on consent.
Or... maybe less forward; like the moral is not quite developed yet. You see that mostly in shows that are obviously catered to straight.
I feel KinnPorsche has some rightfully placed dubious consent scenario's. Or just morally low scenario's as you can expect when watching a maffia show. I like that they don't shy away from that. I do think they lack a little bit in teaching what should have been done instead. Like have a character be the moral voice to explain what's okay and not.
I feel Porschay is that a little, but not quite enough. That would be good to see, the younger generation standing up to say: we don't accept this.
What I loooooove about Kinnporsche is that they handle queer quite well. There isn't a very obvious bottom/top relationship between Kinn and Porsche (well there is, but not as much as the usual BL). Porsche makes his own choices, doesn't come of as a victim and isn't easily manipulated. Bottom emancipation! That's why this scene is probably not so shocking for people who've been watching BL/yaoi for a longer period.
Which... is kind of proof how problematic that world actually is and that we should really move away from those shows that have normalized dubious consent and unrealistic depictions (of queer characters.)
You just need one person being taught a wrong lesson through media to possibly destroy a life.

The word 'fan' or 'faen' in Thai can mean both girlfriend and boyfriend or even lover, it is genderless in Thai language. If you told someone "I already have a 'fan/faen'." you can't tell if it's female or male, and Thai people don't care. If someone got a fan/faen, they are taken, period.

Personally, I’m okay with how they depict Porsche’s sexual assault and its aftermath. I’ve talked to people in the fandom who are survivors of sexual violence and related to Porsche’s experience a lot. But I’ve also read comments from others who had to stop watching. It definitely needs a trigger warning!
I’m really excited to see your reaction to the next two episodes. Like I said under the last video, episodes 4, 5 and 6 are a unit in my eyes and probably my favorite part of the show. (The rest is fun as well.) Porsche is my favorite character and he goes through a whole (painful) journey. I don’t particularly like Kinn - definitely don’t like him as a person and only slightly more as a character - but he is the one Porsche loves (for better or worse), so he has to be part of Porsche’s story.
My favorite thing about Vegas (a character many fans worship) is his fucked up relationship with Kinn. Those two have such an interesting dynamic and Porsche is often caught in the middle.

@@sarajadhav3239 I don't know. I don't like his actions (how he treats Porsche), which is why I don't like him as a person. And as a character he's just not as interesting to me as other characters of the show. Which probably boils down to me not identifying with his (internal) struggles all that much. There are a lot of elements that I could strongly identify with (him being an older brother for example) but it just doesn't come through for me, idk why. Pete for example is my absolute favorite character in fanfics because sometimes his POV feels like something ripped out of my soul. And with Porsche, I just built a very strong emotional connection, I feel his pain very intensely and his character development is just amazing.

BoC made a public statement about drugs and consent, when this episode was released. They knew this wasn't a topic to take lightly. It's not treated as nothing.
I haven't seen many/any (BL) productions that made statements, after having such a scene in their series, but maybe there are some.
This series will continue to venture into more gray areas. The mafia world is brutal. Some things will be so dark gray they're practically black. This series also has some of the most heart melting and romantic scenes I have ever seen on screen.
I don't mean to be rude but as you stated, they requested no spoilers, and don't you think this seems like a spoiler? I really enjoy their reactions but them knowing what will be addressed has now removed the discussion they could have had about still wondering if it would be addressed. I just wanted to present another perspective as a new fan of their reactions because of KinnPorsche.

I've seen KinnPorsche twice at this point, some episodes even more often, and this is the first time I watched Porsche being caught by Kinn and the back-up twink w/out fast forwarding or covering my eyes. The second-hand embarassment, I can't take it 😅
Him saying "Pete is a nice guy, not Pete". I am like same dear same. Pete is my pookie. My favourite character. That boy deserves the world (then suddenly realises he's a mafia bodyguard who killed many people)
Fun fact. Thai BL dramas are FILLED with tropes and we all love them. I’ve been playing BL Bingo since I noticed it 😂. Here’s a list off the top of my head (BL fans, help me out with the ones I’ve missed!!!)
-There will be a musician (typically a singer and guitarist)
- An out of town trip will be taken (Beach or visiting loved ones are the norm)
- For some reason it’s VERY rare that both leads have alive parents. Someone’s raised by an amazing Grandmother
- They have to get somewhere (to partner) and run. Ignoring all other types of faster transportation
- You will see the same house(s) in multiple series.
- Someone gets caught in the rain and gets sick…
- All illnesses, nicks and cuts are fixed by a sponge bath 😂😂😂
- if there is a female, 9/10 times your going to hate her. (Everyone loves Menow from UWMA/BU)
- Random past/childhood connection
- Constant flashbacks/instant replay
- lingering eye contact (sometimes with such heat you feel like you’re interrupting)
- Messy eating followed by the other person cleaning you up
-Frustrating dream sequences. Oh how we often wish they were real.
- Cringe. OMG the CRINGE, I apologize in advance and hope you watch the all time Best Cringiest series ever Secret Crush on You.
-If it’s a college series someone is studying Engineering and wearing a blue unbuttoned shirt
-Sniff kisses
-instant replay-triple takes (I never know how to describe it but you will know when you see it)
I’m sure there are more but this post is too long. Last a word of advice… College orientation is wild, funny, cute and strange at first to us westerners, but we get used to it
As someone who has watched BL for years now, it's been really interesting watching the way the series have progressed, dropping or eliminating some toxic tropes and picking up newer, more progressive ones. It's pretty rare to see the evil female character now, for example, when that used to be practically required. In fact, shows nowadays often add in GL side ships, which is refreshing. Another trope that has thankfully all but disappeared is the "only gay for you" trope. Finally, shows like Not Me and I Told Sunset About You (though being completely transparent, I didn't enjoy ITSAY) have paved the way for series actually discussing queerness, identity, and homophobia in society instead of ignoring it altogether.
@@epicskyline I too have noticed that the standard tropes have become less and less common over the years. Full disclosure, I’ve only started watching BLs this past February (but I’ve devoured over 150 series since then) so I wasn’t around to see the progression as it happened and am getting a disjointed version of it. As it’s prevalent in some series and not in others. But, I don’t mind it and would love it if someone (once and for all) makes a tropes series. Just do it for top to bottom and then be done with them. Also, I’m saddened to hear you didn’t like ITSAY, I loved both seasons. And yes to No Me. That and KP are my #1 and 2 favorites of all time (so far).
@@Admete69 Yeah, I know my opinion of ITSAY is controversial, but I could only make it to some point in episode three before I quit. It was visually gorgeous, but everything else wasn't for me. Love that you and tons of others love it though! Series two may well be a masterpiece! I have no idea.

It’s been a goal of mine to finish all of the ones I’ve started so I periodically go back to the ones I can’t take and try to finish it episode by episode but I often only make it a few minutes in before I have to leave again. the last scene is really heavy but the kiss happening as soon as you say "at least he isn't taking advantage of him" made me laugh a little, can't lie
the scene at the end isn't something that the company took lightly when it aired, they released statements about consent and drugs after it aired and the dubcon is something that's addressed between them across the next few episodes in case you're hesitant to continue it because of that. also (i dont consider this a spoiler bcs it was in previous episodes but potenital spoiler territory) big is in love with kinn, its pretty obvious and most people in the show know about it, he's not homophobic or anything like that, i think in that scene he was expecting porsche to have a bad reaction or get him in trouble with kinn but it obviously backfired on him.
i think when watching kp its important to remember that this show was groundbreaking when it came to BL, there hadn't been anything like it before especially when it came to the sex scenes - but it is a dark show and plot heavy, sure it has its fluffy moments but it's nothing like the college BL shows where things are all soft and sweet. for me, at least, kp is THE standard when it comes to BL.
but if you do want more series' in the same vein as this (more plot driven, suspense, etc) try Not Me the series and Manner of Death both of which are also god tier bl standards!

Its not really all bodyguards they are trying to get, its just Porsche. I dont know if you remember from Episode 1 or 2, but Vegas' dad told him to watch Porsche because he noticed that Kinn and his dad treated him differently than the other bodyguards, by making him the head of Security for Kinn(The Boss) with no experience or training and not letting them kill him when he made Vegas brother bleed. Wik/Kim also has one of the guards telling him the same info, which lead him to meeting Porshe's brother and somehow connects dots on his secret investigation board thingy🤷♀
Basically everyone wants to know what is so special about Porsche. Even Kinn is unsure why his dad wanted him to make Porsche join them so badly.
I obviously won't spoil anything, but let's just clear one thing out: Be on cloud knows EXACTLY what they are doing, and you were NOT supposed to react differently at the sex scene! The whole point is that Porsche were drunk the first time they kissed, and drugged the first time they had sex = neither were consensual ...
As to WHY that is important ... you'll just have to keep watching to find out ;-)

the way the SA is presented in this show is that in this episode, it's from Kinn's pov, hence the "romantic" vibes, but THEN you get the aftermath from Porsche's pov and something more regarding it
just be patient, the next 2 eps are important in that regard

Vegas is quite an interesting character and his dynamic with the other members of the show is very complex (He also seems to have an aversion to shirt buttons but thats a nice bonus). The diamond auction actually has a subtle double meaning as Porche's last name is Pachara and Pachara means diamond. So its not just money/ego thing between Kinn and Vegas they are indirectly trying to claim Porsche in that scene. Very excited to see you watch how the rest of the plot unfolds.

Kin does redeem himself….sort of? But yeah. A LOT of this story has a lot of toxicity. But then there’s some super sweetness and some highly toxic dysfunction. It’s a good foundation to have some tough but necessary conversations about what is acceptable and what isn’t. I encourage you to keep going.
There's a reason why we all said that starting with KinnPorce as your first BL was risky. With that being said, let it play out. The story isn't done yet! 😊
Also, I would really like to recommend the break down analysis that Gaywatch has made of this scene. She goes into all the bits and pieces of it, analyzing their every move, sigh and look. And without shying away from the obvious, it does provide a fuller and more nuanced picture of all the things that happen.

One thing you will notice A LOT in BL is how they all seem to have THEIR OWN PICTURE either in their rooms, in their wallet, in a frame on the wall. Just a massive amount of pictures of them selves scattered like art. I have always wondered why and apparently its not weird in Asia?
There is a superstition behind it actually. In some cultures it is done to ward off evil spirits. It's like a stamp saying you can't live in this house or body because my spirit lives here.

Thankun wacking Vegas over the head with the tray is one of my favourite scenes. I did not see it coming, and he did it so nonchalantly, too.

with the scene in the hotel bathroom, it's not meant to be viewed as sweet/romantic. it's meant to portray real life events happening everywhere though this is a bit tasteful compared to what you get from the novel and of course viewers have to remember that this takes place in the gritty grey world of the mafias. that being said, i've been enjoying the reactions to KP so far, looking forward to the next ones. cheers!
KinnPorsche is one of my all time favorite BLs, it’s so much fun watching you guys piece together the plot.

The SA was so much worse in book. It was literal R*pe where Porsche was actually trying to stop Kinn multiple times but they depicted it in much better and sensitive manner in series.
The novels are trash tbh and I am glad they changed a lot from that. I always wonder how they use all these weird bad novels and fanfics as base but still manage to create amazing shows out of the source material. The only novels (from the few I dipped into) I like are from Sammon and the Pit Babe novel is fun too but it's a lot of sex scenes mixed with some plot 😅
@@HangryKitsune I agree with that. There are some BL novels that are so trash and full of violence, especially some that are supposed to be more spicy. I just couldn’t bear to read some of it! But to be fair, BL novels that are fluffy and cute or are also exist! And I’ve also read Sammon’s «Manner of Death» and enjoyed that a lot - this is a decent detective story that has bl love story very gently and subtly ingrained in it. Series are quite nice too, though the story there is a bit changed. The other novel and a series I enjoyed is «A Tale of Thousand Stars» - the book gives a lot of cultural insights on one of nothern Thai tribe and the love story there is classic romantic slowburn. And it filmed beautifully too with an amazing director and actors and crew (loved watching the bts😊)
@@mariakrylova2266 I don't mind violence and dark stuff, it just depends how it's treated, how the characters react to it, how the tone of the story is. Like when we have morally grey and dark characters being mean and violent then this makes sense for them and we know these guys are bad from the start. But for example there are some novels out there where the tone is so off... the morally good main character, you are supposed to sympathise with, does things out of the blue for shock value that are really bad. But don't fit the character at all, it's just brushed over as revenge or messing around but it just doesn't make sense nor does it get explained why that character suddenly snapped so bad there for a moment and threw all their morals out of the window.
(but that's a general romance genre issue, not just BL it just gets worse when it's by bad writers)
To me the sex scene is pretty grey zone. On the one hand Porsche threw up and got most of the drugs out of his system, he knows where he is and who he's with, he can have a coherent conversation and has the mental clarity to remember the kiss and use that information as proof to win the argument of whether Kinn likes him or not, he is also the one to initiate the sexual encounter by touching Kinn. On the other hand, I feel like Porsche was not ready for what happened and would not have given in so easily had he not been on whatever it is they gave him... You could say it's not necessarily a sexual assault, but it could be considered as taking advantage of someone and it was wrong of Kinn to do it.
When you hear a word that sounds like “fan” and the subs read “girlfriend” I’ve come to understand that it is a lost in translation moment. “Fan” or “Faen” roughly means significant other from what I’ve gathered.

There is such a vast difference in the BL world of series/ dramas & l still can't believe that KP was recommended as your 1st Asian series to watch! It has the whole shabang...while most are quite innocent & sweet. ENJOY😊
lil funfact kinnporsche the series was based on a novel and the sexual violence was actually heavily toned down in the show, i honestly think they handled it well in the show and like i think its reasonable to portray people who were raised in crime and abuse to not be perfect kind lovers. This is a show with alot of very interesting diverse and complex characters but it is not a show about good people who are well adjusted and have a healthy perception of relationships.
also this is a very complex topic that i dont think i can go fully in depth here but in the history of bl particularly where i think this genre came from, yaoi manga, themes of rape and sa are very prevalent. these stories are largely written by and for women and often are accused of being fetishistic, which is true in many cases, however i think it is much more complex than that. From some of my own research alot of women watch or read bl because its a way to explore sexuality (and im guessing also these darker subjects that many women experience personally) without them with the role of a woman being involved. Much heterosexual romance and porn even when written by women still have patriarchal dynamics and its hard not to compare oneself to the woman or in a way it feels to real. I think the themes of sexual violence in this genre are because its a way for women to explore or reclaim that horrible experience in a way that doesnt involve them, which you can criticize the objectification of gay men but it is unfair to dismiss or diminish it as many people do.
I hope you guys keep watching as even though it has many dark themes i think its an amazing show that does things ive never seen before, it does get darker but honestly i think it gets better too. I also hope you guys learn more about bl and gl as they have so much interesting culture that is very different to western queer media and you will definitely see more stories and themes that are nothing like what you are used to.

The reason it kinda seems all about the bodyguards, mainly about Porsche it’s because it is. Like in the first episode, in the end (Korn) was playing chess with his main bodyguard and he was like “we finally have the missing piece.” He could be talking about the chess pieces, but it’s still metaphorically speaking about how Porsche is the last piece to this. Also, I believe towards the end of episode 2…Khan (Vegas’s father) told Vegas to get close to Porsche that’s why he’s near Porsche and being nice to him. You finally saw the beginning of Chay’s (Porsche’s brother) and Kim’s (WIK) story beginning. Their first interaction had me giggling. It’s very different from the other storylines in here…they are my favorite. It was evident in this episode that Kim felt something towards Chay, but it changed as soon as he found out Chay was Porsche’s brother. So therefore, Kim has Chay on his list now since he doesn’t trust Porsche. Everyone (EXCEPT CHAY) are morally grey. They are grey characters. The ending scene was supposed to feel uncomfortable, and not okay at all…it was NOT supposed be romanticized although I could’ve done without the music. Still doesn’t take away the fact what Kinn did wasn’t okay and that I didn’t like what happened. Especially with the after effects that Porsche experiences the next day 💔. However, this is the mafia world and dark, morally grey, problematic, uncomfortable things are about to happen. You can say they are not okay and express your thoughts/feelings cause they are valid but just wanted to let you know.

It's the perfect combination of a realistic plot, steaming hot scenes, romantic atmosphere and it's literally a masterpiece about consent /respect /a whole green forest 😭✨✨✨
Don't read if you think this is too spoilery, but it's more of a between the lines kinda thing that doesn't reveal any of the plot, but adds some context:
Big (the bodyguard who gives Porsche the bag to deliver for Kinn and his backup twink) is actually in love with Kinn. They have already hinted at it in previous episodes, like when Kim/Wik asks if Big wants him to write a sad love song when he finds out Kinn has a new bodyguard and stuff. So Porsche thinks Big is being a homophobe, but really he's just messing with Porsche because he's jealous. It doesn't matter much for the plot, but it adds something to all of their interactions!
In the sauna scene when they're talking about girlfriends they're using the word 'faen' which means lover or partner so the word is gender neutral ❤ 4 years of Thai bl and I finally get to use my knowledge of the language haha
Also a pet peeve of mine when it comes to translations is when the subtitles say 'no' but theyre saying 'yang' which means 'not yet' lol I just think it's inaccurate
In the scene where the curtains open to reveal porche, kinn says 'ai porche' which is a rude way of addressing someone. So he didnt say fuck but I think they decided to use fudge as a way to convey that he was speaking in a rude way
Kim writing his name on porchays shirt is a very common thing to do in Thailand. When it's valentines day all the students are handing out heart stickers and sticking it to the shirt of the people they like and sometimes write a sentence. When it's graduation, they write words of encouragement or thank you messages on their classmates shirts ❤

I hope this doesn't count as too much of a spoiler, but regarding the consent issues surrounding the end of ep 4, the show does address it, but it'll take more than one episode. I just wanted to give a heads up on that, as it sounds like it might impact whether you keep watching. The aftermath is a bit of a rollercoaster, and they take their time, but I think that actually works as a way to give weight to what happened.
When Kinn was asking about Porsche's "girlfriend" he actually used the word "faen", that is a gender neutral world used for a partner (we could say that is the same as using "lover" in english).
On the contrary, Porsche used the same word but with another word in the end (like faen-something) and in that instance he was asking about Kinns's "girlfriend" demostrating that he is a really clumsy and clueless boy 🤣🤣

Your reaction to this episode speaks to one of my critiques of these shows based on books. By this episode, when they reveal that the youngest brother is the musician WIK, you are supposed to realize that he's kind of a brain who has been researching the leak in his family for a long time. You are also supposed to know that he's been suspecting Porche because of how he was some random outsider suddenly brought into the inner circle. And, finally, that he did not have any idea that the young teen superfan he met at his alma mater is the younger brother of Porche until the moment he got the file.

7:38 i don't know if someone has already said that but in thai they use the word "faen" (pronounced "fan") and it can mean both "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" so Kinn is basically asking "do you have a partner?". It's a genderless word so you will get that very often in BLs or straight couples. Compared to other depictions of dr*gs, SA, and s**ual health in BL, I personally think this series handled it relatively well. They used their platform to spread awareness on GHB and posted infographics (or like an ad? if I'm not mistaken) for this advocacy. Some of the actors themselves, P'Mile (Kinn) and P'Tong (Tankhun) for example, were also vocal about the importance of PrEP and being just careful in general...

Episode 4 came sooo fast ! I've already seen it on Patreon, but of course I need another fix. I'm also very curious to see what was cut and what was kept... and of course, to read everyone's comments after this.
One thing surprised me : how could Josh miss the constant push and pull that went between Kinn and Porsche, the staring through the mirror, defying, bantering, neck biting ( that fight on the barge was hot) , the hot and cold that Kinn blows, the way he can't help himself checking on Porsche . Then the way Porsche complains to Pete about Kinn, the way he provokes him ,but always worried how Kinn will react...I feel Kinn is quite aware of what is happening but does not really understand why, as Porsche is not his type and Kinn as a boss would not mess with a bodyguard. Whereas Porsche is probably quite confused with his own emotions and impulses.
Mostly, they can't ignore each other , and that since the first seconds of their meeting.
So at 7:18 I think (I do not speak Thai but I do know a few words from memory) that the word Kinn uses is “faen” which I've seen used as a term for both boyfriend and girlfriend. I'm not sure if it can also mean ʼpartnerʼ but it is probably just a choice of the translator if I did hear it correctly.

When I watched the scene I was divided in my reasoning lol. I was like heyyyyy he’s drugged! Nope! So in that thought I agree with you. He wasn’t aware enough to give consent. Then I also thought … kinn likes Porsche and could have taken advantage right away but I think what happened was once Porsche mentioned the kiss at the pier it was like a green light in kinn’s head. Though way wrong.. I get it. Though kinn comes off as a bad ass and trust me he is. He’s different when it comes to Porsche. So did he intend to take advantage or was he lost in the moment of poor judgment? Probably the latter. It’s a great series. It will leave you on the edge a lot! Why this series had world wide acclaim is it was ground breaking. At the time we were still getting the usual stuff. A lot of university series and run of the mill boy falls for boy stuff. When this came out it shocked everyone. First because of the production and how it is filmed. Not a spoiler but pay close attention to lighting. The director uses lighting specifically. As well as clothing. You’ll notice Vegas wears alot of red and his lighting is red. He will use green to signify jealousy. It’s very thought out. Also the story. Though we have had mafia themed bl’s nothing that was this real with violence. Adult theme. Finally no boys all men. That was new too. Very explicit sex scenes. Another biggy. After kinnporsche companies really tried to match it , no one has come close. They became so huge they actually took a whole show around the world! Ya it was that popular. I loved it. You just need to remember these are not good people. Though some do have kindness hidden. Enjoy!

I love Vegas so much, he is really messed up and really bad for many things but the actor did a great job with him I just can't help it. Even the actor said that he doesn't want to meet anyone like Vegas in real life haha
And yes Pete is very cute and this comes in line with what he told to Porsche in previous eps about them not being good or bad but just doing their job. Pete is a bodyguard that does bad things but you will find yourself wanting to protect him.

Also, "faen" is gender neutral but Kinn is trying to figure out if Porsche is in a relationship and if he is straight or bi and if he might be interested but he does assume that Porsche probably might be straight since the majority of people irl are and also in this BL even though many characters are gay.

As I told you in the last reaction, BL isn't a gay universe, most BL's I watched it's people to some part dealing with their sexuality and homophobia and family expectations etc too. East Asia is much more conservative than the west.
But yes it's also often multiple queer character, not just one. But it's often something like this.
to add more nuance to the "being gay is normalized" trope of the thai bl world, it's kind of like "I thought I was straight all this while until you came in and started shaking things up." also gay is used as an umbrella term, there's tons of depictions of bi characters who dated women before but in the plot of the bl discover they're bi and date their love interest. so the idea of "gays are everywhere" is kind of more of a silly trope where somehow EVERYONE in the show ends up being gay, but the ideas of heteronormativity and prejudice from society are still the same?
Btw the last scene of the reaction where Kinn kissed Porsche, it wasn't because he wanted to kiss him it was because he wanted to taste what was inside his mouth if there was anything left in there. So he could see what type of drug Porsche had been fed before. I didn't know this but apparently that was what Kinn was trying to do in the original source material the series is based off of. That's why Kinn made a face after kissing him, he was trying to taste the drug.

Hey my babes, so here is some context as yall are NEW to the amazing but sometimes DARK world of BLS. I have been watching BLS since early 2020 until now and when I say it is a JOURNEY. BLS have truth be told gotten PROGRESSIVELY better, believe it or not, but there is still some work that needs to be done regarding how certain topics and subjects are portrayed. This plays a role both on the FANS and WRITERS… it is deep but I am not here to spread controversy lol.
24:43, CONTEXT-
Just like WESTERN media, BLS have various genres from PG, PG-13, ALL THE WAY to tv-ma which will of course include dark and/or taboo topics. The main Asian countries that produce the most BLS with various genres, dark subjects, and just general deep topics of such are especially BLS found in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. For those who know, they know. BLS like Japanese BL “Sei No Gekiyaku”, Taiwanese BL “HIStory 4: Close to You,” to even a notable BL “Tharntype” that is noted as one of the most popular BL ships in Thai BL history while there were elements in the show a lot of people did NOT agree with. The three I just mentioned I mentioned for a reason due to the nature of scenes that took place within them and those who are veteran BL stans will catch on to why I mentioned those three as prime examples of “dark” BLS. And side note, while we are on the topic of Tharntype, one of the main actor’s Mew has just came out to the world about his relationship with his boyfriend Tul who is another Thai BL actor known for his works in other notable BLS. Pretty big news since they are BOTH well known Thai actors. Anyways, back to my discussion, I find these three countries being the most intense when it comes to a substantial amount of types of BLS. Then would follow more subtle BLS from countries like China, South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, and a few more. And keep in mind that some of these countries also follow strict censorship laws which is why some BLS are more intense than others. You guys definitely have the right to feel that way about the ending scene because trust me when I say a lot of people disagreed with it. However, as someone who is in the BL community, BLS do include MANY elements like that at times in which the writers will do their best to ease into it rather than confronting how wrong it is through their writing if that makes sense? And believe it or not but there are many ppl in the BL community who do defend scenes like that and you’d be SURPRISED with the excuses they make to validate why writing like that as being okay. I do feel myself that fiction is fiction but still people’s experiences are real. So, things like this are based on real experiences and there is some form of boundary and people can feel how they feel while we should respect that.
17:05 Okay, so you guys were quite confused here lol and this is something that you will see more of when or IF you decide to get into more Thai BLS. So, in A LOT of BLS generally but especially Thai BLS, there are many based on SCHOOL/COLLEGE settings. Especially dealing with students who are getting into ENGINEERING or ATHLETICS (inside BL community joke). So, them showing the scene with Porsche’s little brother kind of eased the more mature theme of KP we have been seeing for a moment back into a lighter element we are used to. Also, the guy singing in real life name is Jeff Satur, a real singer and actor and has worked in various BLS as well. Thai BLS are also notable for having actors SING sometimes throughout their series at times which can be quite annoying as many of them really can’t sing lol BUT the few like Jeff Satur is a true exception. Also, another topic to touch on here is that in BLS there are sometimes what we call “multiple ships or couples” like a 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd couple as to where we will be introduced with a variety of SHIPS in one series. Sometimes, people prefer the second couple over the first couple and so forth so on. I like when there are tropes like this because it gives people a taste of what kind of couple they’d PREFER shipping. This “multiple couple” trope is quite common actually and that is what they are kind portraying through that scene like a little crush moment being indicated between them 2. I can’t say too much about who the second main couple in KinnPorsche is gonna be but you’ll see what I mean soon.
Overall, thanks for being so open minded and continuing watching this. This is one of the darker BLS and I know yall said NOT to say it but this is something that the show has already advertised even when it was NEW to us so we are only telling you guys this in your discretion. So, that scene yall saw …really does not stop at that ending scene which is really our way of giving you guys a heads up and trigger warning since we have already seen the whole show. But, it is a theme embedded in the show for a reason and you will see in the turnout. Okay, enjoy and hopefully the next BL if yall decide to react to another one in due time is a lighter-themed one.
I think the show is really aware of what it's doing with the scenes in the bathroom and its not meant to be a cute moment for the two of them. Kinn is giving in to his desire when he is shown, and has told Porsche on the pier, that this is not the life he wants. In my mind its very much about Kinn losing his control in a sort of caged animal offered affection and food way. That doesn't make it okay, but the show is aware of the characters that they're building, as shown in how Porsche deals with the entire first 3 episodes where his agency and control are slowly stripped away and he reacts by acting out and attempting to fit in, in turns, until it culminates in this moment of ultimate loss of control for Porsche. Subsequent episodes deal with this moment in ways that are very true to their characters and since they aren't well-adjusted, healthy adults, their choices aren't either.
I'm really enjoying you watch this show btw, reminding me of all the reasons this show probably rearranged my brain cells. This is my first time watching you, and you both are massively entertaining.

as a survivor of sa myself who was under the influence during the event i just want to put my own thoughts here regarding the scene. the scene definitely made me uncomfortable and confused me, especially the music choice. i needed a break from the show after it.
what i will give them credit for is showing how porsche feels in the aftermath. also, as you guys touched on drunk sex and sex when one person is high and the other is fully sober is completely different. in my case it was an out of body experience where i couldnt leave the situation even if i wanted to.
as for the show overall, i like it. it was high production and the actors were great as well. all characters are morally corrupt so i dont judge the show based on this scene alone. i dont think the scene was necessary but what made me keep watching was how they showcased porsche’s emotions regarding it. i found it pretty accurate.
as for kinn, i couldnt be completely open minded towards his character after this particular scene but thats just a me thing.

I want to clear up this whole "universe" thing. When it comes to the BL community, specifically the Thai BL community, having characters inexplicitly identify as LGBTQ+ is normal. However, that is not to say their won't be stories of hardship for some of the characters in the BL shows. Not every story is fluid in accepting the LGBTQ+ character, let along the character themselves. Sometimes we see denial from the main characters or rejection from family and friend groups of the character. I think of it like this...its a BL, you know you are watching a BL, so naturally there is no shock factor to seeing LGBTQ+ characters throughout the shows. Sometimes the main character is confused about their sexuality and other times are openly gay/bisexually. It's the same for the side characters, sometimes those characters are confused about their sexuality and other times are openly gay/bisexuall/lesbian/trans/nonconforming. Last thing I want to point out is that in BLs, specifically the Thai BLs, there is almost always more than one LGBTQ+ couple in the show.
