    All my life i wanted 2 play the guitar. Always envied the the guys i met wen i travelled around the world with my backpack. Now 60 years of age, i play since i became 56 years. My children put some cash together and bought me a western guitar. Took me a couple of months to start actually playing. I use TH-cam and started with Marty Schwartz. Soon after that i found you and you really lifted me up. Now i have 3 guitars and always take my Alhambra classical guitar to work. I work with the mentally ill and they are always glad when i come 2 work...with my guitar. Thank you so much for all your explaining and showing how 2 put your mind and specially feeling into playing.

    If there's just only one guitar teacher out of all of them I'd pay money for a private lesson, it's you Marco. I've watched several of you videos "using only simple chords like..." and then you use them in a way that I don't understand what's going on at all... But the sound is just most beautiful and filled with such emotion that I just forget about the fact that I don't understand how you can play each chord like that, and I just listen...

    Dear Marco, as a beginner, this was the most encouraging and inspiring video you have ever made for those of us beginners who are slow to grow and frustrated that we can't make our guitars sound musical. This one was an excellent example showing me the "how" professionals can make a guitar sing so beautifully even when simple cords are used. Thank you.

    How do you know what notes to play, to play the chord??

  • @jpf504
    @jpf504 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    thank you another awesome video... question: do you change the scale with the chords when writing the melody ? this has always confused me, for example C is the tonic after playing C-chord than E would become the tonic after Em-chord ... or you stick to the scale of the key you're in ?

    • @MarcoCirillo
      @MarcoCirillo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      One scale. This is in G major, so I use the G major scale. Of course, if you play a C major chord, still use the G major scale; however, you might want to move around the notes that make up the C major chord to make it sound more like you know what you are playing instead of just noodling around hehe. I hope this helps.

    Axis of Awesome.. four chords.

  • @SiddharthSingh-mn6iq
    @SiddharthSingh-mn6iq 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You can play one chord in 5 different in ways(barreing different shapes)...that's 20 different ways for 4 chords
    That means if I have to pick 4 from those 20 variations of chords, I can have (5^4) possible ways of playing...that's 625 different combinations(taking at least one of every chord) of playing 4 chords
    If you just take all the combinations regardless of getting every one of those 4 chords then you'll have (20*19*18*17), that's "116280" possible combinations for a 4 chord progression
    👁️👄👁️
    So you can never actually say that you're stuck in a 4 chord chord progression
