Just wanted to add, for 7:00 you can set "Don't initalize controls automatically" in General Settings > Advanced, so you can avoid that issue altogether.

      7:00 to 8:05
in the latest FL versions you can just right click on the fader and uncheck "Init song with this position"
I think that is a bit easier

@@inthemix the thing I said though is a little bit different
if you still want the parameters to initialize when playing the song, which I personally prefer, you can just uncheck "Init song with this position" in the settings of the fader or whatever you have automated after deleting the automation clip
I'm sorry if that information was unnecessary

    A couple more tips:
-Press F12 to close all windows. This is useful for cluttered projects.
    - Hold shift and click on anything on the playlist and drag it to create an instant copy
-When using the slice tool use right click instead of left, that will delete the new slice
I didn't know the hint bar tip, Thanks Michael!

Everyone even people who aren’t beginners have ideas in their heads and then they turn completely different when they try to put them into the daw.
I’d guess that it’s pretty rare anyone gets their idea into the daw perfectly. They probably end up with some semblance of the idea and it turns into something else completely as you use the idea in your head to spark a new idea.

    - When slicing hold shift to make slicing heaps easier
    - when using select tool hold shift to select multiple sperate samples and clips throughout the project or melody
    - *knobs from third party plugins that dont have a right click automation option* ; fiddle with the knob for a moment then at the top of the screen middle of the taskbar theres a knob symbol click that and create automation. You can now automate that third party knob.

As always, thank you for these videos. I am completely overwhelmed by how much is packed into this amazing FL Studio program, even if it is a trial version, so you are helping me familiarize myself in a way that isn't overwhelming.

Hey Michael, I really appreciate what you do. I even went as far to make documents of tips, trick, definition and advice you have given this far. This channel has signal handedly made me a better producer and engineer. I just wanted to say thank you.

this is awesome seeing I just literally bought FL Studio 20.
Its been years sense I have used it, and watching this video isn't really where I should start lol.
but I'm glad TH-cam sent me here! Subscribed!
now I just gotta try to make some decent tracks without a MIDI Keyboard,
and get use to the piano layout on the standard keyboard layout.

This is absolutely fantastic!! Thank you for all the effort! I have been using FL Studio for over 5 years now and thought I knew pretty much everything around it. Apparently I did not explore the FL Studio 20 enough to know about the fantastic shortcuts and function it offers! Thank you, thank you!!!!

Thank you for alllll of your helpful tutorials and information! You rock! Starting as a beginner (regarding FL Studio and midi connection(s)/input/stream) was a HUGE challenge for even ME, a pretty intermed piano/keyboard player. So your videos like these are a HUGE help! And...you're also very handsome...that's what they call the double threat, right? Looks and talent? haha

As someone who is an advanced Ableton user and relies heavily on the session view (clip launching etc), a lot of the quirks in FL studio seem to me like they are avoidable and counter intuitive. My question is: what are the creative plus points to FL Studio? Is the a clip launch style approach to it or is it a strictly linear SPL style approach ? Great vids btw! Keep it up
