I was homeless for a year. My own family turned on me...I wasn't on drugs or anything like that...It was just a rough time for me then...A very dear friend told me about Gentry and their beautiful positive songs, And that's what brought me here...After seeing this video, I cried for an hour...I couldn't stop the tears...My heart was just overflowing with so much joy seeing this...I pray that one day NO ONE will ever have to be homeless in this world...It is hard on your body and on your soul...I've watched this video 15 times, & I cry every time i watch it...Beautiful & touches your ❤...God bless you Gentry, and God bless us all...In your holy name JESUS I pray, amen.

This video brings me to tears! 45 years ago, I was that young Mom raising two children alone! Christmas of 1978, no job, broken car, no money or presents, or Christmas 🎄 for my children! This is one of the most meaningful and beautiful music videos ever made. I too am homeless and forsaken by 3 brothers whom took everything after my parents departed. I do not morn the loss of material things or money. I think every day of my friends and parents whom have all ascended into heaven. Now my Lord talks to and comforts me daily, as I perform his wishes speaking to others about his love and guidance thru all.

I cried too! I have often wondered why I cry when I watch a video such as this. I cry often when I am in prayer too. Watched a movie about Paul the Apostle and cried watching it too. But when I pray, I have always felt that I cry because I am so humbled to be in the Lord's presence. I am not worthy of His love, yet He loves me. I am crying typing this reply... From the age of 18 to 22 (I am now 51), I was homeless in Los Angeles. I first heard O Holy Night at The Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. I made my way to Hollywood and the next 4 years I was assulted, robbed, and abused. In the 3rd year of my homelessness I discovered a program that would help get your GED. After that I gained employment and was able to get off the streets. Thank you for this touching video and how far I have come. I regard this song as the true meaning of Christmas and am particular of renditions of it. You all captured this song Masterfully . This song literally saved my life.

Something or Someone told me hold out for 2 days and I was taken off the streets by a wealthy couple retired from the motion picture industry . They told me to get my GED and get a job. This couple changed my life.

Yes, there are still good people out there, but as you stated you've done work to try and help yourself too. And, about suicide David, remember it's the "one" sin you can not ask forgiveness for because once you're dead, you're dead, and you can not ask for it. These couple of years inflation hits hard for my family and so many people out there. Im so blessed that i have a job, food, and shelter. My family we are happy and healthy. May God bless you all with love and happiness. We just need to love one another. If your neighbors need your help or friends. Just go and help them.
My first time watching this video and I'm in tears. I've been there, homeless and scared. I strayed so far from God and let alcohol and drugs control and ruin my life! You feel so alone and hopeless. I would walk by people's homes at night and long for that safety and warmth.
Thank the Lord I turned my life around and have been clean and sober for many many years. I couldn't of done it without the Lord.

I lost my mom this past Januaray and realizing that the homeless father in this video was gone in the end, absolutely killed me, realizing that my mother will not be here this Christmas.

Yes it truly has been a tough one! Started with around 6 funerals at the beginning and ended with the loss of a beloved family member who would have celebrated her birthday on dec. 24. but somehow I know that nothing happens without a reason and that there is a plan for each and everyone of us down here. And I truly believe, that Jesus is wondering around and that he and his angels embrace us all once in a while. Sometimes it’s just a smile we get on a rough day, but it shows us, that there is always hope. The kind of hope, that we celebrate each and every year in December. So please feel embraced and love your neighbor like you love yourself and I’m sure you will meet the great I am one special day. 😉

I had the amazing privilege, for several years in Salt Lake City, serving in the homeless branch of the LDS church. You truly learn to love those whom you serve. It made no difference what anyone wore, what they looked or smelled like. We just loved and served anyone who showed up. Some returned week after week, others came for just one Sunday. Many had mental illnesses, most were addicts in recovery, some were humble, some angry, some incredibly grateful for any small thing done for or given to them. What an honor to have the chance to be with "the least of these." My heart will never be the same. It was softened and molded and filled with unconditional love.

Being a single mother myself with a girl & boy … When I saw the single Mom and her two it pierced my heart in a way I can’t explain. And Jesus cared so much… He saw and He knew when no one did. Just trust Him. He will absolutely change your life if you can ask Him into your life and ask Him to forgive you of your sins.
And remember.. we all sin.. everyday! It’s human nature ( thanks to satan) but God has power .. complete power over satan so when you do pray , which doesn’t have to be a long prayer always.. just rennet.. it’s a conversation with someone who made you.. knows you and has unconditional love for you.

Showed me that Jesus could be anywhere looking anyway he wants. The guy playing Jesus in this video was a handsome man but Jesus would be more handsome. Jesus is the Lord. There is nothing more important to any person than knowing Jesus. This video is very good, I would like to think Jesus looks like the guy in the video but I’m sure Jesus is more than we can imagine. I saw a homeless young man about 22 yrs.old.I asked him to come over to me.He was happy to.I asked him how ya doing?He said fine.He said he was trying to get Christmas presents for his family but he was like Gilbert Grape you know the movie?To look at him you wouldn't notice but once he spoke he breaks your heart.Cars drove by without helping him.He had a sign that read help for Christmas presents.He said ,"I've been out here all day and got nothing."So I gave him 20.00.He looked at it and I've never seen a more happy young man.I pray him and his family have the best Christmas ever!!

This is one of my best TouTube finds! I love their singing, and the video is beautiful. I especially how subtlety the character of the angel (because you will never convince me that wasn't an angel in disguise there!) was handled. Always popping up, quiet but when noticed he's lingers in the mind. Then at the very end you might think the father went back in to the shelter to help the 'homeless man's' family... but where'd the homeless man go? Why does no one seem to notice his sudden absence?
Given this is how I believe angels work among mortals at times I love it! And in my headcanon the family continues to help at the shelter for a long time to come.

This is my personal testimony.
I used to believe that I was super strong, super smart, capable of taking care of myself, and even though I have always been a believer, my faith in God wasn't as strong as it was in myself.
Two years ago I had a serious personal problem with my family, without going into details; at that point, my family was my God, they were the reason I live for, in other words, my "EVERYTHING", but due to the issue with them one day they ALL, everybody abandoned me, over the night... I was left without anything and anyone to talk to. Months passed by, on which I couldn't sleep, lost my appetite and also my will to live. I pretended for a while that I was fine ‘cus I full of pride so I couldn’t admit that this time I wasn’t gonna be able to fix myself…until I couldn't take it any longer.
One night when the pain was unbearable, and desperation took over me, finally, I realized that I couldn’t keep living that way, so I started planning how to kill myself, I gave some thoughts to the idea because I wanted to be effective and final, I needed to stop the pain but before I did it I got on my knee, very angry with God, at 3 something am, I screamed to God "IF YOU CARE ABOUT ME, DO SOMETHING BECAUSE I CAN'T DO THIS ANY LONGER!!!, I AM A GOOD PERSON AND YOU KNOW IT!!!
I CAN'T TAKE THIS PAIN ANY LONGER!!! I DON'T WANT THIS LIFE ANY MORE!!, IF YOU DON'T DO SOMETHING I AM!!!
IF YOU SAVE ME I PROMISE I WILL DEDICATE THE REST OF MY LIFE TO YOU!!!”
After this, all I remember comes to me like a flashback, I swear, I don't know how I got back to my bed( my last memory was been in my knee by my bed). Later on( I am not sure how long it passed), on this flashback I opened my eyes for a second and my room was full of extraordinary light, so strong I couldn't keep my eyes open, I was in a fetal position on my bed, my room was full of Jesus’s presence(I didn't need to see his face because the love and peace that overcame my body, the feeling that fulfilled my inner being was screaming the existence of Jesus in my bedroom). I woke up at 10:35am as A TOTAL NEW PERSON, I felt like I have lost a heavyweight I was carrying on, I was radiant, hunger, happy and full of hopes and plans for my life... Jesus saved me! he cleansed my spirit from evil desires OVER THE NIGHT! just the way my family forsakes me. I have been wanting to give my testimony for almost 2 years, I guess the Lord decided that today was the day, he is REAL people, he is, and all we have to do is to redeem ourselves to him and ask for help, he is waiting for us to do so, this is mentioned in the Bible on Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
We don't have to suffer alone, Jesus died for us, so we can live an abundant and long life.
My feeling towards my family hasn’t changed at all, if anything I love them more than ever, nor I hold any negative feelings against them, I still will give my life for any of them, the only difference now is that I will ask Jesus first if he is ok with this.
To the Lord be the glory!

@Doc Jesus was not a visionary, he is the son of God, God who came to earth in human form to show us how we should live and by bearing the price of our sins on the cross so we could have eternal life for those who confess their sins to him and ask him into their lives, Jesus was our creator who existed before the earth was formed - few will walk the narrow path to eternal life in heaven. Mathew ch 7 v 13-14.
